A couple of the stops were at nice food shops, but those samples can be had without the assistance of a food tour.

Worst food tour I have ever been on and I have been on many
laurabele1, Oct 2022
So we started not being able to contact the tour company and did not know where to meet. After many texts and calls we were told a wrong location, but the lady did call us back and correct this. Then they promised 4 or 5 food places and a flight of beer. We did 2 places, no beer and we totaled what was paid for and it is less than 20.00 and we paid about 78.00 per person. We had to share a tiny portion and only two restaurants. We had one scoop of gelato and had to wait in line. They took us to no places that made us feel like a Williamsburg experience. The guide was so so and when we were eating just sat there on her phone. I went away hungry and who wants to go on a tour where they say , go in and shop and meet us outside. Not one person on the tour was happy…and then the guide asked for a tip. We could have gone to a great restaurant for that money. As one other couple said this is called Highway Robbery
Eat your way around Williamsburg

This was a great experience. Cyndi was an excellent host and took us to some delicious venues. Good intro to the area. Now, when we return, we will be able to easily find good places to eat.
Do it yourself!
Kari_F, Aug 2022
We have done several food walks during our travels. In one word, this one was "underwhelming". When we signed up, it was advertised as stopping at 10 restaurants and lunch would be included. We could have done this tour ourselves. The only thing that saved the experience was our tour guide, Cyndi. She was very knowledgeable about the locations we did stop at. We started at a spice/tea store, then to a peanut shop, then around the corner to try some mac & cheese. There were 8 or us for 4 orders of mac & cheese, off to a coffee and candy store and then ended at a restaurant where we split two burgers and fries amongst 8 of us. That is 6 locations, not 10 and our lunch ended up being a 1/4 of a burger, fries and half an order of mac & cheese. It also said it would be a 3 hour experience and we were done in 2. For $75 a person, I would not recommend doing this walk when you can easily do this yourself.

Disappointed
Tyler_S, June 2022
Claire our tour guide was fantastic. Waitress at The Blue Talon was rude and off putting . Food offerings can be improved as there is little for the $75 price tag. Shops were neat though. Overall, one can do this tour independently and stay under $75 per person.

CLOSED ON MONDAYS! The Food Tour was not open on Monday, June 6. We planned our day around this tour. Very poor service from Viator!

The tour guide did the very best she could since it was only her second tour. The tour was just two hours and it is listed as 3 hours basically you just walk around a block and visit stores. In the stores we were served food the guide paid for the food. We got samples at some restaurants to take with us. We probably got our value for what we paid. It could have better planned

Not a good tour. Needs lots of improvement.
Eleanor_L, May 2022
This was the worst food tour I have experienced. Assigned guide was too inexperienced to handle our group. There was another individual from the company who "took over the tour" and was excellent. Food was horrible, planned venues were not ready for us although they tried to get comparable places to eat. It truly was a waste of money.

Scammed
Kerri_P, Mar 2022
It was a total rip off. Only one resturant which was 2 meatballs and water to drink. The rest were shopping places. The picture shows what you get beyond the meatballs except the banana bread is shared with 2 people. Not worth $75 at all!!!

Very disappointing
Nancy_h, Dec 2019
This is the reason we decided to book a vacation over Thanksgiving. The description said NO REFUNDS. After booking the food tour, I scrambled to find accomodations. This was done at the End of September. We were Very Much looking forward to this experience. A confirmation email was sent to me. THEN, the evening before the tour, I received a text that IT WAS CANCELLED! We then had to Totally reorganize our day and find lunch somewhere On a very busy Thanksgiving day-
We had fun but I've been on much better food tours
Julie_B, Aug 2019
Our guide was very outgoing and did her best to make the tour enjoyable. Some of the stops were very good and others just OK. I've been on many food tours and they usually present a wealth of information about the town, the architecture, the restaurants and the food and drink we will taste. Usually, the destinations are carefully chosen for their historical value, atmosphere, or signature dishes. Al lot of that was missing in this trip. Our guide had minimal information about Williamsburg, the restaurants or the food we were tasting. A couple of the stops were pizza and subs - food that can be eaten pretty much anywhere. A couple of the stops were at nice food shops, but those samples can be had without the assistance of a food tour. With all the wonderful cuisine and historic locations in Williamsburg, this could have been much better. That said, we did very much enjoy the mac and cheese at Blue Talon Bistro and the cupcake at Justified Bakery. We enjoyed the company of our group and April sincerely did her best to make the tour fun.

A Long Hot Walk, But the Food Was Good
MandV1964, June 2018
With the temperatures in the low nineties, and having already done a two hour walking tour, the three hour tour, some of the walking was a strain for our 70 year old bodies. Our guide did a great job of not going too fast while she added interesting information about the places visited and Williamsburg. We visited nine establishments, including a spice shop, candy stores, regular restaurants, a craft beer tasting, and a bakery. Al were interesting and the samples provided outstanding. We later returned to two of the restaurants for full meals. We recommend this tour, but suggest that you don't precede it with another two hour walking tour unless you are in great shape.

Doreen M, Feb 2018
The most disappointing food tour we have taken. The guide read from a script to introduce and begin the tour. We toured stores that were on streets that you would visit without a tour guide. They included two chocolate shops and a peanut shop. Then went to two delis which had fair that wasnt unique. Subs and wings! Asked the guide to tell us some tidbits/stories of the area, she had nothing but what her children liked as young children.
