A very emotional fulfilling experience

Lots of memorable experiences.Got to visit where our relatives probably died and to lay a wreath at one of their graves.Our guide,Soren was very knowledgeable and personable.The tour was fairly expensive but still great value for money.

The tour takes in 34km of battlefields and is 1 to 1 following specific ancestry. Larger public group minibuses are available from other companies that are not as bespoke and are therefore cheaper

Fabulous bespoke tour of WW1 graves and key sights

Soren our guide was superb. We had two WW1 graves of family members we wanted to see. He researched their regiments and battles they would have been involved in and gave us a bespoke tour of the area plus showed us both graveyards. Really memorable trip.

Family of 4 visiting from Canada. Soren gave us an excellent tour of the WWI battlefield sites and monuments. Soren made the visit memorable by giving us in depth information of each site we visited. Moreover Soren customized the tour for us and included the sites we were specifically interested in. Soren went above and beyond when our train from Ghent broke down 30 minutes outside of Ipres. Originally we had planned to meet Soren at the Ipres station. When our train broke down, Soren drove out to pick us up. Comfortable vehicle for family of 4. Highly recommend the tour with Soren.

My grandfather's memoirs were printed in 2009 with illustrations by Soren. Soren was able to personalise our tour. Taking us to, and making reference to, places where my grandfather had served. Very informative, very moving. The highlight of our stay in Ypres.

Soren did an exceptional job. We were 2 families traveling together. He accommodated our larger group. We paid for a larger vehicle. Once on the tour he was very gracious. The other family unexpectedly brought a dog and he was very generous with his time so we could make extra stops because of the dog. I think we were a bit slow of a group and he went long with us so we could see everything. My kids enjoyed running in the trenches and tunnels. His explanations were clear and relatable. We learned a lot. We're not WW-1 experts so we needed the help.

Soren our guide had reseached the history of our uncles from WW1 and had found all the places they had been involved. Well planned and thoughtful inclusions. He went out of his way to give us time to reflect at each site. He brought a lot of resources regarding the battle so that we had a greater understanding of their journey. Our guided tour turned out to be the highlight of our trip to the battlefields, soren was so engaging and interesting. I really couldnt have asked for more from our first ever battllefield guided tour, Soren even found out all about my relation who was buried in a war grave, and took us to visit the grave and also where he died. I wouldnt hesitate to use Soren again if we came back in the future.

Søren researched our relative’s history in advance and tailored the tour precisely so that we could retrace his steps and see where he lies. Stid was much loved by the family and it gives us comfort knowing where his grave is and seeing the path he took. We didn’t have much time for this very important visit and every minute was maximised. We are so glad we had Søren along for the day. Comprehensive, sobering, and endlessly interesting

Soren was an amazing host and guide. We opted for both tours, which was a full day of driving and sightseeing, but it went by very quickly. Our 12 and 15 year old, who can tend to glaze over with boredom in the face of too much history in one sitting, remained engaged and interested in what they were learning. Soren's knowledge of the area and WW1 history are encyclopedic and comprehensive. His love of the area and unique history of the region are evident and infectious. It was incredibly moving to see the monuments and memorials built to fallen soldiers of all nationalities. I'd highly recommend this tour to anyone with even a passing interest in WW1 history.

Moving Tour of Ypres Salient

From anecdotes to poets verse, our guide led us through highlights and lowlights of the battles and cemeteries in and around Ypres in 1914 - 1918. Our guide was as knowledgeable and he was charming, answering questions and providing color and insight to a sobering tale. A comfortable car, water and much consideration for our comfort and ease made for a lovely afternoon, highly recommended!
