Perfect Start to Paradise

A tour with Luis is the perfect start to a trip in Zihua. He knows the right restaurant(s) to eat at, where to shop and what beaches are best for your needs. Had the best taco ever, sipped a perfect margarita at La Ropa, saw the waves in Ixtapa, and even made friends with a few iguanas. If you are traveling to Zihuatanejo, Luis should be your first point of contact. He will tailor your time with him to be just what you want/need.
Excellent tour

Tony was very knowledgeable on the history of Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo. He gave us enough time at each stop. He answered all our questions. His English was great.
A little bit of Paradise

What a fantastic tour. We requested Luis for our tour, and boy did he come through! He indeed took the time to listen to what we wanted and planned the tour around that. My family wanted to see the town, eat authentic local food, shop a bit but also see some of the areas less traveled, like boating and visiting the turtle farm. During these tours, we were also able to play along the beaches of La Ropa, Zhua/Ixtapa, Petatlán, and Playa las GataI. We started our first day learning about the history of Zhua, Ixtapa, La Ropa, and many more areas. We toured both the cities and the countryside. We stopped at Cancha Municipal for a bit of shopping. Then we tried a few different restaurants and taquerias throughout the tour and enjoyed some delicious gelato and ice cream. The time was so good that we ended up booking Luis two days later, and then again the next day. After a few hours of touring the cities, Luis took us to a lovely turtle farm near Petatlán; after about an hour's drive, we arrived at a nearby location. Getting to the actual turtle farm was an enjoyable ride through a coconut, sesame, and fruit plantation while riding on ATVs. This ride was incredible! Once we arrived at La Tortuga Felix, The Beautiful Turtle, we learned about the local turtles, their habitat, their life span, and we also got to release a few hundred baby turtles into the sea. It was magical and an experience you cannot miss! On our second day, we went on a private boat tour out into the pacific and around the beaches of many local towns. Then we went snorkeling for over an hour, and during this time, Luis was able to show us much different fish, but the best one was the up close and personal pufferfish. Later we went to the beach of Playa las GataI so my daughter could swim in the ocean while we all enjoyed a great lunch and a tropical drink. On our last day with Luis, I wanted to view the historic Partenon del Negro Durazo. The structure and artwork of the building left behind we're breathtaking. We walked around for about an hour and then headed into town for a late lunch at Bandido’s Restaurant after realizing Carmalita’s was closed for the night. The food was delicious! He then wanted to take us to location to see large Crocodiles and iguanas, but we were too tired but then. I wish we would have done, though. Luis is very knowledgeable about the towns and always had an exciting story to tell us. With Luis being a local, he has a lot of historical narratives of the cities and was able to teach us the history behind them. When we go back, we hope to book Luis again.
Don't miss this tour!

We had a great tour with Luis. He helped us figure out where we were in Zihuatanejo and Ixtapa. Which is extremely helpful for the rest of your visit, where you can park, great places to eat, the best beaches, interesting recent and historical places to visit later. He showed us the basic skills needed for the Central Market in Zihuatanejo, items that you should and shouldn't bargain for on price. The Central Market is an every market for meat, fish, small kitchen items, clothes, leather sandals and food stalls. Side note, there is a chili relleno restaurant on a corner booth in the market that literally brought tears to my eyes, life Changing rellenos. I suggest you take this tour early in your visit to help ease any concerns of where to go, what is safe, where to eat. This was our first trip to Mexico, with Luis's help we really got to see the lovely side of the people of Mexico, how kind, helpful, talented, rich with culture and genuine concern for their fellow humans. We were asked if we needed help finding a place or were given suggestions about where to go, randomly on the Street. I think this tour is more of a Cultural Embassador Introduction to this part of Mexico. If you want to see the real Zihuatanejo México, beyond the all inclusive meals, drinks and events of your hotel, take this tour. Have a great trip.

We had our tour with Francisco. Everything went as planned. He took us to all parts of Zihua, especially the parts you don't see. His knowledge of the area was incredible. I would recommend this to anyone going there. He was open to taking us anywhere or spending as much time as we wanted.

We had an excellent time on our tour... With touring Ixtapa, Playa Linda, the crocodile preserve, than on to Zihuatanejo, through the markets, and into the hills for some beautiful views and pictures, than off to a village for some good food. Plus we had tons of good discussion and talks on the 4.5 hour tour on the area, politics both in Mexico and the USA, the people, and most anything we wanted to talk about... We would absolutely do a trip through them again!!

Juan Lopez was excellent, showing us the history of Ixpata, how it relates to Zihuatanejo. He drove us to important parts of the 2 towns and explained the way of life of the locals/tourists. He is extremely flexible, telling us what the towns and surroundings have to offer and allowing us to cater the half day tour to our family of 5 with 3 adult children. All of us really appreciated his help making our tour such a wonderful special discovery of Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo.
