What To Expect

Greet your expert guide at a central Zurich location and climb aboard an air-conditioned coach for a panoramic tour of Zurich, a city considered Switzerland’s cultural capital. Admire the rich architectural array and hear tales of Zurich’s prosperous past before travelling to Rapperswil, a charming medieval town known as the ‘City of Roses’.

On arrival, marvel at the towering turrets of the medieval castle and then enjoy some leisurely free time to explore independently. Return to your vehicle and capture panoramic photographs of the Alps as you cross the Ricken Pass and arrive in Toggenberg, a gorgeous region replete with swooping valleys and beautiful mountain scenery.

Next, cross the border to Vaduz, capital of the minute Principality of Liechtenstein, and spend more leisurely free time discovering the charm of the city. Visit the Post Office to catch a glimpse of its highly prized stamps and then return to the coach for the short journey to Maienfield, the stunning setting of the Heidi stories.

Take a pleasant stroll to a collection of mountain houses and absorb incredible views of the surrounding mountains. Opt to visit the Heidi House at your own expense and then gaze at the picturesque banks of Lake Walen as you travel back to Zurich by coach.

Please note: In wintertime, visit the quaint village of Werdenberg instead of Heidi-Village.

We loved this trip and the beautiful sunshine just added to it. The scenery was breathtaking. The medieval village was wonderful. Heidiiland took my husband and I back to our youth. We also loved visiting Liechtenstein however I would personally have liked perhaps another 30 mins here in order to take more in. A excellent tour with wonderful driver and guide

The tour was organized...
Shahab_H, Sept 2023
The tour was organized well. But I personally only liked the Heidiland stop. It would not be my first choice if I want to pick a tour, but worths doing it if you have extra time. The guide was good
Great organized trip
Maritess_E, Sept 2023
Great and knowledgeable guide. Very safe driver. Got to also see Rapperswil. Wished to have more time in Vaduz!
Great narration on tour
Lauren_B, Sept 2023
The guide, Urs, was fantastic and gave great narration and added a personal touch. He tailored his suggestions to the crowd. I really appreciated all he did to make the experience special. The driver, Rolf, also went out pf his way to cater to us traveling with a stroller.
Well organized

Our guide Walter was great! Tour was well organized. Nothing much to see in Liechtenstein - most shops closed on Sunday
Great tour.
Alan_M, Sept 2023
4.5/5 Approx 15-30 mins more needed in Heidiland. Nice to see Liechtenstein, not much there so the time allocated was plenty. Sunday is a good day to go a Zürich is pretty much closed down on that day.
Worth doing.
Kevin_L, Sept 2023
The tour guide was very knowledgeable. It was a full day but ran efficiently. Enjoyed the sites and the Alpine countryside.
Great idea but terrible execution. Too many people
Steve_R, Sept 2023
Too many people (65) for the tour on a double deck bus. Time at the 3 stops was too short and we were rushed. Hood bus ride and driver and guide was too but the time at Heidiland (30 minutes after 15 min walk to get there and 15 back) was totally insufficient
Wonderful

This was a great tour. Only one complaint not enough time at Heidi land. It was a uphill walk and all of the houses were up even farther. So if you wanted to see the houses or do a little shopping. You had to make a choice. Other than that it was a great tour. I think a lot of people on our tour didn't know who Heidi was.
The tour guider is the best.
Donna_S, Sept 2023
The tour guider spoke very clearly. He is nice and patient, very professional. The bus was comfortable.
Visit to Liechentstein
Luke_G, Sept 2023
My trip to Liechentstein. It was my goal to visit 100 foreign countries. This was country number 100.
Good
Lolita_V, Sept 2023
Our driver Mark was really good and drove safely. The guide Walter was ok. The tour itself was worth it.
10/10 recommend!
Hunter_B, Aug 2023
Walter was a great tour guide! He was kind, professional, funny, and engaging. We kind of just bought this tour without looking at the details very much, but it goes through Zurich, to Heidiland, and to Liechtenstein. We thoroughly enjoyed each stop, our guide Walter, and the other travelers we were with. Would recommend this to anyone whose first time it is in Zurich.
Faith restored
Roxane_B, Aug 2023
Our guide Raymond was very knowledgeable and made sure the group was together. Gave us more time if we needed, took pictures for us. Our driver was also good and made us feel safe. The bus had A/C which was nice on this hot day. He restored pur faith in zurïch hospitality.
Worth the price!
Donald_B, Aug 2023
Seeing the lovely Alps. Just beautiful countryside. Buses very comfortable and guide was informative.
Breathe taking
Richard_D, Aug 2023
This is an excellent tour, if you want to see the Alpes at a decent price, that is the one. We saw lots of beautiful sites, lots of pictures. We highly recommend this tour.
Don't recommend at all
Abdullah_C, Aug 2023
The only memorable part of the trip was Heidiland, which we got to see only 25 minutes. Although this was the place giving it's name to the trip, the total time allotted was 45 mins. 20 of which is lost during the walk to Heidi House. The guide was unfriendly and made sexist and homo-phobic remarks. The driver wasn't sure about the way also made a lot of hard breaks. I really regret spending my time in this trip.
Excellent
Lusi_a, Aug 2023
It was a great day. Heidiland was the highlight for me. Our tour guide was so good he really made the trip extra special. Thank you.
Happy in Heidiland
Urmi_N, Aug 2023
Having read the book as a child,it was a dream come true to be transported to her land, see the beautiful Swiss meadows, hear the cowbells, and smell the freshly mown hay.The tour guide, though mexican, was very informative too.My only warning, beware of buying curios in Vaduz when you go to get your passport signed. The bill has no details, and items are not individually priced,so you can never be sure whether you got a fair deal or not.
Okay but barely worth it
Arman_K, Aug 2023
Our tour guide could hardly speak English and we had a lot of trouble understanding what he was saying. Neither Heidiland nor Lichtenstein had much to offer and the stay time in Lichtenstein was very short to allow to do anything.
Response from Host, Aug 2023
Dear Arman K Thank you for letting us know your experience on our Heidiland Tour. I am not sure but have you been on the tour on August 11th, if so on this tour your tour guide was Walter and we have not heard any negative comments about his English. He worked several years in the US and his wife originates from an English speaking country. The tour is described as a scenic country side tour with visits to Rapperswil (1.5 – 2 hours including lunch time), Heidi-Village (40-60 minutes depending on traffic) and Vaduz in the Principality (40-60 minutes depending on traffic). We regret that we did not meet your expectations and still hope you and your family will take home some good memories of Switzerland.
Wonderful Tour Guide
Jessica_R, Aug 2023
We had a lovely time spending the day with Walter and learning more about Switzerland. He really took time to get to know everyone on the trip more personally. We liked the places we visited and the breathtaking views. There is no formal tour at Heidiland, and the ticket to visit the homes in not included, so if you aren't wanting to put more money into this excursion, plan for a free hour.
