What To Expect

Depart from a centrally located pickup point in an air-conditioned deluxe motor coach and enjoy the beautiful scenery on the drive from Zurich to Interlaken, a majestic resort located at the foot of the Bernese Oberland Alps. On arrival, set out to explore the town independently and visit natural landmarks like Jungfrau Park and Lake Thun. Recharge with a traditional spiced tea in a café (own expense) and then return to the coach for the journey to Grindelwald.

Disembark in the spectacular resort, known as ‘Glacier Village’ because of its incredible collection of glaciers, and start discovering the natural splendor of the enclave independently. Opt to take a cable car ride to the sunny terrace at the summit of Mt. First and capture unrivaled views of the scenery from a height of 2,168 meters (7,113 feet) above sea level.

Reconvene with your guide at a pre-arranged time and then relax during the journey back to Zurich, where the tour concludes.

A must-go tour!

I booked this with the advance knowledge that it is not a guided tour per reviews which was fine for us. There was a tour guide that explained how it went. Basically, you will be dropped off at Interlaken and will spend a certain amount of time there. Then you will be picked up and dropped of at Grindelwald where you will get to explore the resort town on your own. But there was an optional tour once on the bus to take the train tour ride up to Grindelwald without going all the way up to Jungfraujoch which we gladly took. We got see the beauty of the area better.

The cable cars up to the top at Grindelwald! Our tour guide was amazing and told us exactly what we should do when exploring on our own and it didn’t disappoint! We went out on the cliff walk and enjoyed the amazing views.

Our name was not on the list though we booked 4 months before. On the day of travelling we were told to get down from the bus and not allowed to proceed further. Then we rescheduled the trip. Our one full Day was wasted. Terrible experience. Dint expect this from Viator!

This was one of the best moments of our lives! Our tour guide his name is Kid was the best tour guide we ever had in any of our travel experiences. He took our pictures, showed us around the best scenic views. My mom after a while was having hard time walking thru some if the glaciers pathways and our tour guide actually held her hand the whole time and made sure she was safe while walking thru those narrow pathways. Overall amazing experience and I will recommend to everyone especially with kids. My daughters, 14 and 8 had the best time.

Grindelwald is a must when in Switzerland. We had 4 hrs to spend there and enjoyed every second. Interlaken we had just under 2hrs and unless you are planning on doing an activity then I think that was enough. Our guide Raymon was very helpful and made sure everyone knew where to go and when. There were 3 groups in total on the tour with multiple options including a scenic train journey and hike. I would recommend the one I did for people who enjoy exploring in their own time as we were driven to the location and then let free to explore until the pick up time.

It’s a shuttle, not a tour

We used this “tour” primarily as a shuttle as traveling by train is twice as pricey. Basically, have your plan ready before boarding the bus as you don’t have much time in both villages. Stopping in Interlaken was mainly to drop off the main group who went further up another mountain with the guide. In both places the time you get was not enough to explore. We had 1.5hrs in Interlaken and 2hrs in Grindelwald. We also left Interlaken 20mins. later than the agreed time because I’m guessing some people were missing when we got back. Or the driver was confused if the main group would return or not. In Grindelwald you’re pretty much on your own. The bus driver didn’t speak English so he couldn’t help you. There is no guide when you’re there. So you should have your plan ready or ask the guide before he leaves you at Interlaken. If you use this “tour” as a shuttle, you’ll be happy. But if you want a guided tour, you’ll be sorely disappointed. Next time, I think we’ll take the train instead to have more control over our time. I also thought they could’ve put more care into enforcing sanitary rules as there were people noticeably sick on board and wet coughing for hours. It was very uncomfortable.

Not accurate tour description

Important to note that this is barely a guided tour— you are only paying for a bus ride from Zurich to Interlaken and Grindelwald. While there’s supposed to be a guide- Kid, he gave no information at all about the places we were visiting or what we could do. There are TWO tour groups on this bus, with the “main” one going up to Jungfraujoch. The “free and easy” time that you have is for the guide to bring the other tour group up to Jungfraujoch so you are left in Grindelward without a guide if anything happens. No difference from booking your own train tickets. It was also not mentioned in the package that we had to detour by Lucerne to pick up additional people. Felt like we were “left out” as Kid was only focussed on the main group. However, he gave very good spots for photo taking. Kid is a little bit eccentric and can easily get on the wrong side of people with his crude comments. He only seemed to take care of the people in the ‘main group’. However he packages his concern for you with sarcastic remarks that you’ll have to get used to. That said, we were given the option of paying the difference and joining the main group up to Jungfraujoch. Otherwise, we would have spent the day in Grindelward where shop are mostly closed (it’s Sunday).

Amazing trip to the Alps; the prettiest place on earth. We had a great time visiting Grindlewald and Intelaken, although the treat was taking the cable car to Kleine Scheidegg to see the absolute best views. We chose the package without a guide and we had a fantastic time on our own. The bus tour guide, Kid, was interesting and eclectic. All in all 💯 recommend this outing.

Our day trip was combined with a another day trip(another package they have), and when we got on the bus, the guide kept on saying that he was not here for us, but for the people who had the bigger package - even do it says on our package that we have a guide. The guide kept on saying that we should buy the bigger package, for us to get anything out of the trip. Our trip was not cheap, so we did not want a bigger and more expensive package. We had 40 mins in Interlaken, that city was a little boring. Then we drove to Lauterbrunnen, where the other passengers had to take the train and we had to drive to Grindelwald. But before we drove, the bus driver asked if we wanted to se Lauterbrunnen first, because we had a lot of time, and we all stayed yes. And we had the best time there! The driver was like our guide and he made our trip so worth it! Beautiful city, we would have like more time there! Grindelwald was beautiful too! The next time, we will just go there for our self.

I was really disapointed with this tour. First they mixed 2 tours in the Dane bus. The bus dropped us in Interlaken for 1h45 which wasnt enought. After we didnt see the guide for the test of the tour because he left with the rest of the group to club the top of Europe. The bus Driver picked us Up and dropped us at the other place for 31/2 with no explanation of where to go, what activity we van Do.... The tour was way too expensive for only a bus lift to both places. We had to pay an extra 68 francs for the câble car and the guide Never mention we could have paid less for another câble car. Lack of informations, confusion... We had to Wait in the bus for the other people and we had to stop in lucerne to Pick Up and drop off 2 persons. A long day. I should i pay fornthe train which would have cost me less and i would have Côme back earlier. I want a refund because it wasnt mention anywhere That 2 tours was mixed in one ans That the guide wouldnt be present.
