We loved this half day trip!! It didn’t eat up the whole day which was nice. We still had the morning and then a nice dinner afterwards. We really enjoyed the Rhine Falls! They were truly spectacular. We had to pay our tour guide an additional €11 per person to ride the boat but it was well worth it! Views were great!! We had good weather so we just felt some mist when we got close to the falls. Then it was only a 30 min bus ride further to Stein am Rhein afterwards. This city had all the charm!! It was a small enough city to walk around for an hour. We had a glass of wine and gelato as we walked through the town square. This was one of my favorite trips! We highly recommend it!

Falls and Village visit makes a memorable afternoon. Well organised tour and pace was fine. Whilst it was meant to be English speaking, unfortunately a group from Spain requested translation in Spanish. Great effort by the guide, but unfortunately does reduce commentary time.

The boat ride to Rheine Falls. The guide was very knowledgeable and spells well. Wish he used microphone or provided hearing machine, as it was hard to hear him in the public places. Not happy that we could not pay for the boat ride by credit card as we had to borrow cash (as we were short by 2:50 CHF) from the fellow passenger.

BEWARE: during the falls trip the tour guide will try to get you to pay an extra 10 CHF (cash only) for the boat ride. I didn’t have cash, but I walked down to the pier I was able to buy the same boat ticket (using a credit card) for only 8 CHF.

It is true that the boat ride costs CHF 8 for individual guests. However, it is important to mention that the boat for this price departs from the other side of the falls. Thus, visitors need an extra boat to cross the river, which requires 15 minutes of additional time. We charter a boat exclusively for our group where the boat ride directly departs from our dock. While the public boat may have a slightly lower price, our offer adds great value to the tour as it ensures a seamless and efficient experience. This also allows our group sufficient time to enjoy the beautiful views from the viewing platforms after the boat ride. We visited Rhine Falls and Stein am Rhein. The falls were outstanding! We only regretted we were not offered the boat ride, under the explanation that we were not 20 willing or able people to go as group. You should change that rule, and maybe just add a couple of francs to that optional ride. The historical Stein am Rhein is one of the most beautiful and well preserved towns I ever seen. We also had the most accomplished tour guide Monika, friendly, bright, knowledgeable, soft voiced and excellent English.
Such a waste of time, just take the train. Not a tour so much as expensive bus transfer

This was such a disappointment and was a complete waste of time and money. There's a train station at the falls and I really wish we'd just done that. The stop at the falls only just left enough time to walk quickly to the other side to see the falls from across the water and the guide just dropped us at the entry and said see you in an hour and a half. The stop at Stein am Rhein was a bit pointless, the tour guide was incredibly softly spoken and would start telling the group things when half the large group (?50) was still walking to join, this meant you missed chunks of it. However as all she was saying was things like 'look at these windows' or 'the manhole covers have dragons on them' both of which anyone could notice just by walking past. The only thing she said of any interest was the story behind the wall art of the baker boy, though I had to get this from my partner as I couldn't hear what she was saying. It was the least 'toury' tour I've done and was a hugely disappointing way to spend our last day in Switzerland.

Sticking to the timings allows us to stop in the charming town of Stein am Rhein. Upon arrival at the Falls, the guide accompanies the group to the entrance of the viewing platforms and provides directions to the boat dock for those interested in the 15-minute boat ride. In total, our guests enjoy 1 ¼ hours at leisure to explore the area. Stein am Rhein is a small but beautiful village that we include in the itinerary to enrich the overall tour experience as it gives our guests the chance to visit a typical and well-conserved Swiss town. The colorful and intricate paintings in the buildings are a unique feature of this town and show historical events from medieval times. These paintings provide a wealth of stories to share with our guests. We would like to apologize on behalf of your tour guide if she didn’t wait for the whole group to arrive to start explaining and also if the information given fell short this time. Great tour offered by Marianne to the Rhine Falls and Stein am Rhein. The coach was air conditioned perfectly and the tour was very well thought out. We really enjoyed both Rhine Falls and Stein am Rhein. Marianne’s commentary on the tour was excellent, she did a great job doing the entire tour in English too (all passengers able to speak English). Furthermore the booking team are extremely helpful via email, I emailed a couple of times with some different questions prior to the tour and all responses were extremely quick and detailed. Absolutely would recommend booking with Best of Switzerland Tours!
