Along with a wonderful experience we had an amazing view to enjoy our meal after our lesson. Carla and Rocco were gracious hosts and we appreciate the lesson and the hospitality.

Don’t do this class. We didn’t feel like they even wanted us there to begin with. Weren’t very welcoming. And then seemed surprised we had 7 people instead of 6. I also had emailed immediately after we booked to see if 7 people were okay and he said yes, no problem. I will give 1 star because Carla was extremely careful with my daughter in law who can’t eat gluten. I give her credit for that. When it was time to leave, Rocco said there was a problem with the payment and it didn’t go through, which was a LIE - I had email confirmation which I showed to him. He proceeded to say it was canceled and he needed me to pay him in cash or pay pal. That it wasn’t his fault. Then I see it was canceled, but he canceled it! So my money is being refunded from Viator because he canceled! SCAM! And the food was very average. So do not do this!!

We are in fact known for our being excellent hosts, simple, genuine and honest, as evidenced by the many reviews. Why did we have to behave differently with you? Your review surprises us. Probably the review is skewed for the "problem" with VIATOR. About which we sent you a message before via WhatsApp. This is the message viator sent to us: Hello, The credit card holder has disputed the charge for the below booking through their bank, claiming that it was fraudulent. Please do not accept the voucher. If the customer contacts you directly and has any concerns please direct them back to Viator. We apologize for the inconvenience caused. Kind regards, ...Viator Chargeback Response Team... Our experience is open to a maximum of six people, this information is present everywhere but we were happy to host seven people. We have organized a different menu for a celiac person with pride. Regarding the payment method, we give several alternatives, you have chosen PayPal, you have received a discount for the inconvenience and you have rewarded us with a tip. In addition you have also saved Viator commissions. You may not like food, but it is a cooking lesson not a restaurant, we offer our recipes prepared by our guests with our ingredients. So the food didn't like it, but the cooking class? We would have liked to have had some considerations also regarding the wine and liqueur but it seems clear to us that this review is mainly focused on a not ours mistake. Fun family experience!

We had a great time with Rocco & Carla. They are a lovely couple who graciously shared their authentic traditions with us. Everything was perfect! We had a vegetarian & a person that doesn’t eat pork in our group & they accommodated us nicely. It was a beautiful evening under the olive trees. I am excited to try a few of their recipes at home too.

Rocco & Carla are very passionate about teaching their knowledge of authentic Italian cooking and it shows! They make sure that everyone has a great time and we learned many great recipes and techniques, but also a little about Rocco & Carla and their family. The setting for the class is very quaint and charming with breathtaking views of the Amalfi Coastline. Overall, a truly unique and wonderful experience.

I was beginning to think I was going crazy that I wasn’t that impressed with the food on the Amalfi coast- yes, it’s been tasty but no better than I could get in NYC and every restaurant has the same 4-5 pastas, a few pizzas and a fish or two….Then we did a private cooking class with @amalficoast_be_experience ! Carla and Rocco welcomed us into their home, taught us how to make fresh roasted peppers and artichokes and pasta the real way! All vegetables from their gardens, homemade wine and liqueur (for me), and desserts which we got to eat on their porch overlooking the sea. It was the food I have been looking for in restaurants and now we know how to make it at home too! Carla and Rocco were so great with my 11 year old daughter, it was an experience she will always remember, as will I. The Amalfi coast has become so touristy- if you want to experience the real Amalfi, you must make Praiano and Rocco/Carla’s home a stop on your trip.

Very unique experience. The couple welcomed us to their home and we were able to get a truly local experience through homemade family recipes and wine/produce grown on the property. It was fun, we learned a lot about the area, and food, and had a great meal.

We had such a great time with Rocco and Carla! They were really friendly and told us a lot about italian cuisine. The food was amazing and they shared all the recipes, so we can make it ourselves when we're back at home. We would definitely recommend this workshop!

Pasta Making

Rocco and Carla taught us to cook two dishes, one which involved making homemade pasta by hand, no machine. They were both kind and patient. We did a lunch class with one other couple. The class was authentic, we did all the prep work with instructions from Carla, however she did do everything on the stovetop. We stayed elsewhere on the Amalfi coast so it took us some planning with the bus schedules to arrive in Praiano at the meeting place. They served us wine throughout the class and after eating the two dishes we cooked, we finished with a dessert and liquors.

It was a great experience but the partner of the chef needs to include ALL guests in conversations and not exclude others, it wasn't intentional but it made me not feel very welcome. He also needs to follow through with what he promised with emailing the recipes used on the day, it's been 3 weeks and I've received no correspondence....its a shame.

Truly wonderful and authentic Italian cooking experience

Love love loved this authentic cooking experience! My husband and I were visiting Amalfi for our our ten year anniversary and I wanted to participate in a true Italian cooking experience - this was it! We first arrived in front of a restaurant in the town where Rocco hailed us from an above bridge where we then followed him up through the town to his serene apartment overlooking the sea. Him and his wife Carla welcomes us into their home like we were friends. We enjoyed a wine tasting on the balcony over looking an incredible view of the water and their below garden ( where the ingredients are from, including tomatoes and I believe they make olive oil). Carla then walked us through a unique eggplant dish and pasta dish. It was so fun making the pasta. Carla is such an expert. She showed us so many shapes and we attempted to recreate them. It wasn’t easy! We laughed a lot! We then enjoyed the delicious meal with more wine and a lovely dessert. I was so impressed with this real authentic experience and lovely young couple. They were so knowledgeable about wine and food and do so friendly. If you are looking for an authentic Italian cooking experience, that’s casual and fun, I definitely recommend this. They also sent us the recipes and a thank you note shortly after. Thank you Rocco and Carla! This was real highlight on our Amalfi trip.
