Amazing Time at Dickinson Beach!! 5 Stars

Amazing experience! My cousin and I spent the day at Dickinson Beach and it was breathtaking. Beautiful with such a great location. The team made us feel catered to and pampered. The food was delicious like seriously delicious. Honestly, one of the best meals we received during our stay and in Antigua. The water is crystal clear, and our time on the beach was truly relaxing. We couldn’t ask for better hospitality. Thank you so much!

Wonderful day! First stop beach, settled on our booked loungers with umbrella. Saw our lobsters being brought in from sea, later to be barbecued & served to us. Perfect. Rum punch to accompany if required/ soft drink if you’re not that brave! Later taken to have a look around town - wonderful!

Great vibes, amazing food...all making for an amazing experience. Weather was wonderful and the fresh fish, rice veges and festival made the day. Chill spot off the beach watching the water roll in. Couldn't have asked for a better tour guide! A must do for a relaxing day!

Kareem picked us up at the port and along with a few others headed out. His location is near the far end of Dickenson beach and was very quiet. Beach recliners were provided as well as shade. The punch packed a punch! It was so quiet and peaceful being away from hordes and loud raucousness the day we visited (Only one ship in port). The lobster lunch was BBQ'd by Kareem and served with rice and some veggies and was extremely good and enjoyed by the three of us. It was extremely relaxing and wish we could have stayed longer. I would say it was certainly value for the money spent. While not Club Med fancy, Kareem takes great care of his customers and I would not hesitate to come back again.

The tour was an excellent value for the money but the experience was good not great. The tour operator didn’t communicate very well, and although the beach was beautiful, there was some seagrass in the bottom and water was not clear. The lobster lunch was excellent. we are all had a really nice time. PS: the van that was used was in poor condition. It stalled every time it stopped.

Best beach excursion! Second time with Salt Life Tours this year, 2023 ... we love this team.

A very nice beach experience but started out on an off note. Operator said pickup was 0800 so woke up early. Then email changing to 1000. Explanation was strange about an old brochure. If so change it! Some on tour did not get email and were picked up 830. Transit to beach was an open pickup truck with added bench seats. Rough ride over not so great roads. Beach itself was great. Do not expect to snorkel. For some reason calm cool water was very cloudy. Lobster lunch, drinks and staff were great. We took option to return to the ship on early shuttle.

You have to do this tour when you visit Antigua. Kareem is the best host. He picked us up early and took us to the beach in his open top van. The beach is beautiful and we had front row seats right by his beach restaurant / bar. The service & hospitality were second to none along with the rum punch & cold beverages. Finally the lobster lunch was unbelievable. This is the best lobster we've ever had, thanks to Trevis the chef. My sister-in-law is not a lobster fan so Kareen substituted the lobster with Jerk chicken which was also excellent. It was a great relaxing day. Thanks Kareen & Trevis....

This was a very fun and memorable excursion! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. We felt like we had our own private beach area without a large crowd and the lobster lunch was better than any food I had on our entire cruise! Amazing flavors and the kids got see the lobsters live after they brought them in off the boat before lunch. Amazing people and food- would do this again in heartbeat as an excursion.

Great beach day from a cruise

I booked this for 8 friends who were on a cruise. The ticket came saying that the pick up time was 8 am. I contacted Kareem, who said he would pick us up at 9:30. He was on time and used an open air truck to drive us a short distance to the beach. As someone mentioned, the bathroom was in another building. Kareem didn’t have enough umbrellas for the group so some were by other umbrellas for shade. The water was nice and the beach is shared by Sandals. We basically had the water to ourselves with no one in front of us. The lobster was very good but would have been excellent if it was hotter. Otherwise I would have given it 5 stars. The sides were barely lukewarm.

You’ll find most of my reviews are positively skewed as vendors typically reflect an accurate description of their offerings, plus reviews help round it out. The 3 on this rating is for the following 1- taste of the food (lobster, rice/beans and a small bit of potato salad) plus the rum punch upon arrival. 2- the friendliness of the staff and 3- the view from the beach is really lovely. 4- cost was $65 per person, so a small discount for seniors, which was nice. I’d like to call out the inaccuracies in the actual tour operator (Salt Life Tours) description of this tour 1- there is NOT an air conditioned transport to the beach. While there were plenty of these types of vehicles around the port, you are picked up in a modified/chopped passenger van that has very elevated, padded seating around the back and it’s wide open to the elements and wind. We actually stopped under a tree to let a rain storm squall pass. For mobility limited folks, I will use that word DANGEROUS as people were holding on for dear life. Your feet cannot reach the floor (not even you 6’ tall guys) so be prepared for a rough ride. 2- there was NOT anyone in a yellow shirt to greet us outside the port gates so we spent 20 mins wandering around. The people wearing yellow shirts are SELLING other tours. No signs, nothing. I finally gave up and asked a security guard and they called Salt Life and we were told to go stand in front of the Athletes Foot shoe shop. There was another couple waiting, and we found four more people after that. Kareem appeared and (red shirt, no sign) and we followed him to the truck (while we all waited, he chatted with a friend driving another truck- so we just awkwardly stood there waiting). Island time I guess? 3- the beach is about ten mins away. It’s really got a lot of ‘garbage’ strewn around the beach so keep your shoes on. Beer boxes, just garbage in general lying around. Sea debris is one thing, this is just garbage. Needs a good cleanup and the business needs better larger trash cans for their own trash as it’s just piled up on the side of the building. 4- there are ‘some’ beach umbrellas, for those of you unlucky enough, you’ll get four sticks and a piece of fabric that comes untied in wind. The chairs were fine but yikes. 5- although there are other beers listed on the menu board, you’re getting Carib. $4 each so not terrible but maybe supply issue. Who knows. 6- the business lists WIFI as a feature. Nope. We asked and they said that weather (?) was an issue. Bizarre. Nothing available, no SSID As long as you’re prepared - fine- maybe try a resort day pass at Sandals next door if you want a little nicer, but I cannot just give a blinding good review here without calling out the obvious discrepancies in the business offering. You’d think Viator would care to keep vendors honest.

What an enjoyable excursion! Kareem was a wonderful, conscientious host and a fabulous cook. The lobster 🦞 lunch was absolutely delicious 😋. The beach was beautiful. We enjoyed this tour so much that we have already rebooked it for our trip in March!

Not at all what I expected. We were picked up in an open air truck with bench seating around the edges. It was not air conditioned and did not feel at all safe. We were taken to the end of Dickenson beach which was rocky and had a big dip in the beach and in the ocean. The host directed us to use bathrooms further down the beach as his were out of order or no finished. I was also concerned about the lobster lunch as the lobsters were laying out in the heat before they were cooked.

Beach was lovely and lunch was delicious. But next time I’ll bring my own knife and fork. It’s difficult to eat lobster with a plastic fork.

Prompt pick up from the ship , very nice beach bar and rite next to Sandals resort so how can you improve on this you ask ? Well at lunch a lobster feast is served to you that could be served in any upscale restaurant and the first rum punch is on the house ( sometimes the second one as well) …..beach chairs included total recipe for a perfect beach day ……. I would come back to Antigua just to do this day over again
