What To Expect

After pickup in central Bayeux, settle inside your air-conditioned minivan with your guide and small group of eight or fewer. Then, begin your 8- to 8.5-hour tour of the battlefields involved in the American troop landings of D-Day in June 1944.

As you travel between the sites, hear about the American military action on that long-ago day, together with background on the wider war, including tales of the German occupation of France and French Resistance, and the stories of individual soldiers.

Make your way to Utah Beach, where the US 4th Infantry Division made their assault. Hear about the events that unfolded here, and call at Sainte-Mère-Église, the small nearby town where paratroopers landed in the early hours of D-Day.

Visit the town’s Airborne Museum to chart the assault before continuing to Pointe du Hoc, a prominent cliff that was the highest point between the Utah and Omaha Beaches. See the bunkers, craters, and German casements and gun pits here, and learn how US Army Rangers scaled the cliffs to seize the battery.

View the monument honoring the rangers and visit Omaha, dubbed ‘Bloody Omaha,’ for being the most intensely fought after of all the landing beaches. Hear why the landings were difficult, and contemplate the vastness of the 4-mile (6.4-kilometer) beach.

After lunch (own expense) at a local restaurant, pay a visit to the US cemetery on the cliffs overlooking Omaha. Explore this heart-rending place with its impressive memorial, and take in the beach from the different vantage point of the cliffs. Before leaving, enjoy time to stroll around independently, perhaps visiting the graves or exploring the Visitor Center to learn about the landings and 9,387 Americans buried here.

Your tour concludes with an early-evening drop-off at Bayeux’s station or Place de Quebec.

Excellent tour of American DDay sites including Utah and Omaha Beaches and American cemetery. Very knowledgeable guide. Makes you glad to be an American and very appreciative of what our solders went through and their sacrifices so we could have a free county. Would highly recommend this tour.
Very good tour

Rose did an excellent job explaining the beaches. It was enlightening to see the distances between the landing zones, and, more importantly, the depth of the beaches at low tide. Well worth the time.
Perfect

Every American should take a guided tour to learn some history about the sacrifice of thousands of soldiers killed on the bloody battlefields. Visiting the cemetery and museums was also essential.
Great day long Normandy trip with our amazing guide Adrien
Khris_V, Oct 2022
Our tour guide was Adrien and he was amazing. If you have the opportunity to request a guide, pick Adrien. I knew most of the history we were about to see, but by the end of the day long tour I realized I hardly knew anything and learned so much from out guide. He showed us the main sites as well as taking time to show us the hidden things and the fun facts only locals would know. Just the best trip and guide.
Worth every penny

Rose was very knowledgeable and great as a guide. She made sure we saw the various sites at an excellent time. She added a few stops, those were exceptional as well. This tour was well worth the money.
Very accommodating guide/tour operator

We were a group of 8 friends. Marc was a solid guide. Prior, we added the Bayeux Tapestry to the itinerary and he figured out an efficient way to do so. We were also interested in only one beach in order to spend more time in the cemetery and to maintain a reasonable pace. This level of collaboration was MOST helpful.
Excellent

Guide Celine was extraordinary. Made the trip most informative interesting and pleasant. All items on agenda covered in proper timing. Comfortable vehicle.

Our guide, Sunny, made the experience very personal; connecting what happened on Omaha Beach 78 years ago with the peace and freedom that Europeans enjoy today. Also, what a moving moment when they played "Taps" and lowered the flags at the American Cemetery.

Most moving were the two stained glass windows in Saint Mere Eglise commemorating the paratroopers who dropped in on their small town, risking or losing their lives to free them from 4 years of German occupation. Thank you Romain for guiding us there and for the other June 1944 memories and sights.
Knowledgeable guide brings D-Day experience to life

Exceptional day-long small group tour of Normandy D-Day Battlefields with terrific tour-guide Rom. Clear reservation confirmation and reminder. Timely pick up... Rom was incredibly knowledgeable and gave terrific context and specific detail about the numerous (but not too many) sites. We covered Marie St. Eglise and the associated museums about the details of the Pathfinder and paratrooper landings that preceded the landings on Omaha and Utah beaches. Terrific stories that were personal, emotional -- and none of the time did we feel we were getting a "canned" spiel. He answered our questions... had just the right amount of info and time spent. Great balance between structure and freedom. We moved on to Utah Beach... walked out on the beach... showed us incredible "then and now" photos with real people and associated stories, particularly about the Roosevelt cafe (later named). Went on to Pointe du Hoc and view bomb craters and German Bunkers. Incredible to see first hand. Then to other sites including Omaha Beach. Context well balanced with facts (stunning!) and again human stories. I never understood the scale of the battle of Normandy on this emotional AND intellectual level. While standing on Omaha beach, a man walking his dog came up to us to show us to fistfull's of bullets that were lying on the sand. He gave us each one. 75 years later this stuff is still showing up. Of course the American Cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer was the capstone of the day. Powerful. Evocative. Humbling. Emotional. We happened to arrive whebn a veran's family members were helping cemetery staff to fold the flag being taken down to TAPS. Not a dry eye. This company is smart, professional, committed to service and highly recommended.
We were able to take a little sand with us from the Beaches. The American Cemetery was so amazing.

It was great and the guide was very knowledgeable. We visited all of the stops and the guide squeezed in one more surprise stop and it was awesome. I wish we could have stopped at Utah beach a little longer, to inclement the main area to see the sculptures and statute. That was the only stop that was really rushed. I’d also wished we could have stopped at Omaha Beach Museum but we drove by and the guide gave us an overview. It was off season so very little crowd which was perfect for us! We really enjoyed everything!
