What To Expect

Thanks to the volcanic lava rock that filters the rainfall and runoff, the water here on the Kona coast is some of the clearest in Hawaii. On this enthralling Kona submarine tour, explore the clear waters and colorful reefs just off of the Kona coast, where schools of tropical reef fish flit above patches of sand and through caves.

See all types of tropical marine life on this Big Island submarine tour, from schools of small manini, or convict tang, to larger fish such as the big-eyed emperor fish that slowly cruise above the reef.

This Atlantis Submarine Kona Adventure has been featured in National Geographic television shows, and explores the ocean just off the coast to depths of 100 feet (30 meters). For the entirety of the underwater journey, you can relax in comfort in the air-conditioned sub that only holds 48 people, and casually watch through the circular portholes as fish go swimming right by.

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

A fun adventure and totally worth it!

The whole experience was amazing. The staff was friendly, knowledgable and fun! We saw a LOT of fish and it was one of the highlights of my trip. I thought it was going to be one of those glass bottom boat trips that goes just a few feet under the water, but we went 100 feet below the surface. Fascinating experience and would highly recommend.

To our surprise this was a fantastic excursion and very educational. We saw a ton of different types of fish on the reefs, and 2 ship wrecks. It was the first time we’ve ever been 100’ down. I would highly recommend this for all ages

Fantastic experience!

This excursion was worth every penny! First of all all of the people helping load us onto the boat shuttle out to the submarine and all of the submarine staff were extremely kind and very efficient. Our group was 5 to 65 years old and absolutely enthralled with getting to see under the ocean. We saw dolphins, sharks, all sorts of smaller fish, a shipwreck and even some old tires and cinder blocks. It seemed the dolphins wanted to play with us as they traveled alongside the sub and rolled and turned and played. This was well worth the time and money.
