Arrive 5-10 min prior to check-in time to find parking
This is a wild and free excursion. No refunds are given in the event we do not get to view mantas the night of your tour.
If you are unable to swim and would like to remain on the boat, we welcome you. "Ride alongs" are a paid ticket as it is a reserved seat on the boat.
We have full discretion to refuse service to guests based on attire, behavior, physical fitness & condition
Please arrive no later than your scheduled check in time, as we have important information to review prior to leaving the dock, as well as outfit all guests with the equipment needed for the tour.

Cancellation Policy

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

The staff and crew at Dolphin Discoveries (where you should book directly for the best price and experience) were great and a pleasure to work with. I was able to make a last minute adjustment and have my 9 year old daughter fill in for my 24 year old daughter who couldn't make it. We had a long drive and were running a few minutes late for checkin, which is prompt, and they were kind enough to make sure we got on the boat. Be on time though, we almost missed it. I'm an experienced diver and I had a great time. My daughter, who loves swimming but but had a fear of open water prior to this trip to HI, was nervous at first. She warmed right up and had a blast, too. She was really glad she went and can't wait to tell her friends about it. The Captain and in water guides were great. They were very friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. They made everyone feel comfortable and we learned a lot about manta rays during our snorkeling tour. This was a really fun experience that I'll likely do again on future trips to The Big Island. It was worth it and I'd recommend the experience, and Dolphin Discoveries, to anyone without hesitation.

How close the manta rays get to your face and how amazing they look. To see them up so close and how large they are is a forgettable experience. Highly recommended.

We were so impressed with this tour and had we more days, we would probably be going one more time! This was amazing! We saw 10-12 manta rays up close and one bottlenose dolphin! The staf was great and we felt safe and informed doing the whole trip.

Best $130 I've ever spent. We saw 10 mantas at once (usually its 4-6). It was indescribably amazing to be so close to these gentle giants. The guides were friendly and knowledgeable and it was overall one of the best experiences of my life.

It was incredible! Truly, an experience of a lifetime. It was totally safe despite the fact that these massive manta rays were swimming continuously by our faces. One member of our group was terrified at such a thought, but once it happened, she had to confess she would gladly do it again.

We saw a lot of mantas up close, up to 6 at one time! It was an amazing experience, if you come to the big island you need to do this. Only one if two places in the world to swim with mantas. It does get a little chilly in the water, but very worth it. Remember to bring a towel! The mantas came within inches of us. Don’t think about it, just book this once in a lifetime experience. Also our safety swimmer Tim was great and had lots of interesting facts about the mantas!

The trip was amazing. Very well organized and just a short 5-min boat ride to viewing spot behind Outrigger hotel. We saw huge manta rays the entire time we were in water. They would swim up to light and then do somersaults sometimes just inches away. This was truly a trip of a lifetime.

It was amazing!!! Brent and Sus(shady) Brent we’re so helpful. One in my group got sea sick and there was no judgement they were quick, attentive and kind. It was a little scary seeing the manta rays up close, but they were awesome.

Awesome experience! This experience is great bc the boat ride is only 4 mins and you get a good amount of time in the water watching the manta rays. There were so many! Just beautiful - like a choreographed dance. Our one light was not working but we still saw so many mantas! That was the only small negative, the experience was still amazing.

I went with my family last night and I was really scared but the crew was amazing and they were really helpful I appreciate the crew so very much for helping me and my family with our fear of dark oceans. When we got into the water we saw manta rays immediately and out of no where 5 come by and start going upside down and everything. I don’t regret this purchase at all and I would definitely love to go again. Quick tip bring towels after the ride because it’s going to be very cold after you get out the water and ride back. Manta rays were absolutely beautiful, thank you.

We saw so many Manta Rays and had such a wonderful time. Check in was easy and were provided a wetsuit top and snorkel and mask. Cookies and water after the snorkel. The boat ride was only like 5 minutes so that was perfect and everything was super safe and comfortable. Our guides talked to us about the different manta rays we were seeing and all kinds of informative facts. This was my second time and I was once again blown away. The rest of my group were first timers and was definitely a highlight of the trip.
