An absolutely fantastic way to get yourself acquainted with the different areas of Bologna and experience the different food options in the city. The food tour was a highlight of our visit to the city and the guide was both entertaining and very knowledgeable about the city and different eateries we visited. I would definitely recommend this tour.

Highly recommend!!! We visited Bologna for a day trip from Florence and are so happy we booked this tour. Mattia was an incredible guide and is clearly passionate about Bologna’s food and traditions. We learned so much about Bologna’s history along the way. Thank you Mattia for an amazing day!

Amazing and personal food tour!

Mattia has put together an amazing tour! When we booked we didn’t realize our tour would actually be with the owner of Delicious Bologna! He is passionate about Bologna food traditions and excellence and did a really great job of sharing that with us. We definitely took his advice on restaurants following the tour and might have accidentally run into him twice at his favorite gelato shop in the following days.

We spent a fantastic five hours with Ricardo and a pleasant, small group (7). From the coffee & breakfast to the Quadrilatero to lunch to the gelateria, the tour was full of interesting culinary information, historical and cultural context, funny anecdotes - and of course delicious food and wine! Certainly one of the more expensive tours available - but worth every single cent. The organisers are clearly passionate about their city/region and its gastronomy, and a good time is guaranteed. Highly recommended! Grazie mille!

Ricardo was a fun and engaging tour guide, showed us the highlights of food culture and we learned about all of the classic staples. The tour included breakfast and lunch, even coffee first thing. We appreciated the small group (about 8 people) and the personal touch you get with a small group. Highly recommend.

Our guide, Ricardo, was terrific! He is knowledgeable, amiable, funny, and fun. We visited authentically local venues starting with excellent coffee at a shop which roasts its own beans, a pasta lab making tortellini, a gorgeous salumeria featuring beautiful prosciutto and other meats , pastas, and delicacies, tasted and compared prosciutto and culatello, had lunch with three different pastas ( tortellini in broth, tagliatelle, and lasagna), sampled 25 year old balsamic , all topped off by gelato from an out of the way cremaria . All throughout the various stops we learned about the cultivation and processing of these products and what distinguishes the authentic from the ordinary. In addition, Riccardo sprinkled facts and information about the history of Bologna as we covered the route from place to place.

We traveled from Florence to Bologna by train for the day, and this tour made the trip worth it. Mattia is an incredible guide with everything you want to know about regional Italian cuisine. If you have an interest in local ingredients and Bologna's place as a food hub, this tour is for you. We got to try a spread of spectacular meats in a hidden wine bar, walked throughout the porticos of the city, tried three healthy portions of pasta for lunch, and ended with gelato. Take a half day for this food tour, do it!
