Feels like a custom, private tour

Avo is a fantastic tour guide who really shows you his side of the city. Having a small group means you really get to know him and the people of the city and he has great contacts for chocolate and beer. I was incredibly impressed at what he arranged for us and it felt like a custom made tour even though we had never met before.

We had a 4 person tour around Brussels visiting chocolatiers and trying different beers and wrapped up with delicious Belgium waffles. Highlight of the trip. Tour guide is extremely knowledgeable and gives you an extreme in-depth insight on chocolate and beers while trying the best of the best.

Hands down this was the best tour of our two week vacation in Europe. Avo was amazing and the perfect guide. I did not know how much I didn’t know about chocolate, beer, whiskey, and waffles. We learned so much about the history of the area and how it shaped the chocolate and beer of today. I highly recommend this tour!

Great small group experience

We had great fun on this tour with a small number of other couples. Our guide had planned ahead and rearranged the itinerary due to trouble he was expecting to arise following a World Cup game that afternoon, and he was proved right! Despite this we got to taste all the chocolates (delicious), beer and whiskey (including the best beer in the world) and finished the day off with a waffle. The tour was good fun and we got to see some different bits of the city. I’d recommend eating before you go, though the beer does come with some snacks to keep you going. Good value and I’d recommend it particularly if you like trying new beers!

I have had the privilege of exploring almost 50 countries and I can honestly say that this is one of my top 3 tour/activity experiences. The care with which Avo presents the history of Brussels and the origins of the chocolates and beers shows just how passionate he is about his work. Given the duration of the tour and the quantity, and quality, of tastings offered, this is easily worth 30% more than he’s charging. I will definitely recommend this tour to everyone I know visiting anywhere near Brussels. This experience is worth scheduling a day trip.

This tour tops them all!! Avo was very passionate about the Belgian beer and whiskey. We stayed indoors for quite a bit after walking around , which I was glad since it was very cold outside even though we were well layered. It was a small group and we ended up having dinner together after. The tour didn't feel like 6 hours at all.

We were only in Belgium for a few days it was a quick stop on our honeymoon we were both concerned we would not have enough time to fully experience Brussels. Having been on commercial tours in the past where we felt more like cattle being herded then actually part of the experience we were hesitant to take another tour. We are so incredibly grateful we took this tour. Let me tell you Avo’s tour was absolutely the best way to see this city! He is incredibly informative and incredibly passionate and you see his passion throughout the entire tour. The price is a steal with the amount of effort and time he spends with your group. Along with the incredible amount of information he makes sure to keep the groups under 10. Our group was 6 people which was the perfect amount. Even though we had never met these people because the group was so small we were able to get to know everyone. So if you don’t like the commercial BS tours where you follow a flag and are herded around the city THIS IS THE TOUR FOR YOU! The tour was personal and informative and It truly felt like we were spending a day with a close friend. Whatever your plans are for Brussels cancel them and BOOK THIS TOUR!

Phenomenal tour with an even greater host in Avo. From start to finish we had some of the most delicious chocolates & beers. If you want to learn lots of history and very interesting facts and taste awesome food and beer this is your tour! All while enjoying a walking view of the city center. Really felt familiarized with Brussels and gained a new appreciation for this marvelous city. And the waffles at the end were well worth the wait!

We had an incredible day of tasting chocolates at confectioneries and chocolatiers, trying a delicious set of beers, and learning about the history of Brussels, chocolate, and beer along the way! I highly recommend this tour - it was an amazing way to enjoy some of the best flavors of Belgium. Do plan for the experience to take about 8 hours; don’t try to book a dinner reservation or train ticket after this, as it is likely to run a lot longer than the 5 hr 30 min duration listed on Viator (that’s just the minimum, depending on group size and busyness in the places you’ll visit).

This was an amazing tour! Our guide Avo was extremely knowledgeable about the city of Brussels and showed us all the great spots of the city! He really has an amazing connection to the city and to all the chocolate shops and bars to taste the various beers! Towards the end of our tour we had a wonderful private tasting in his tour building and were able to taste amazing beers from all over Belgium! Avo was very passionate about his craft, no pun intended! To top it off an incredible day we had a delicious waffle to end the tour! Thanks you Avo! Highly recommend if you are spending some time in Brussels, you won't regret it!
