What To Expect

Well Worth the Time and Money

We had a very nice day in Dinant and Luxembourg once we actually got going. Only complaint was that the tickets clearly stated the tour started at 8:30AM and to arrive twenty minutes early, which we did. Unfortunately half of the tour showed us around 8:45 so we didn’t get started until after nine. These tour companies need an acknowledgement at the time of booking that you agree to be on time or risk being AIS’d. Anyway, Dinant was as picturesque as I hoped it would be. Wish we would have had more time in the city (see previous comment). Luxembourg itinerary included time for lunch, about an hour walking tour by Jan (our guide) and some free time before heading back to Brussels. Very happy that we took the trip. The tour company just needs to tighten up its ship out of respect to its patrons.

Tour guide Albert & driver Serj were amazing 👏. The trip was very well planned & Albert kept all customers happy 😊 with facts about location & explaining history. Albert was very knowledge & everyone was happy with the customer service received 👏 Dinant was amazing seeing the beautiful church ⛪️. Luxembourg 🇱🇺 was beautiful with history, guide tour & shops. I would highly recommend this tour !

Overall, the experience was fine. The sites visited, the information provided and the quality of the transportation were all fine. The departure point is a bit chaotic. This is NOT the place to be on your phone. You need to 1) surf through the crowd to find the correct check-in spot; 2) pay attention to ensure you end up in the right group; 3) make sure you’re corralled into the right group when the walk to the bus starts so that you end up on the right bus. The recommendation is that you arrive 20 mins early, however, the waiting area is already a zoo by that time. I’d recommend arriving even earlier. The guide was knowledgeable and easy to understand. She was also quite friendly. (I believe her name was Veronica?). The only thing I’d change is the lunch stop. The tour arrives in Luxembourg then the group walks about 5 mins to a square. We were then given 1 hour for lunch before we had to return to the same spot for a ~45mins tour before free time. I’d recommend that the short tour be given BEFORE lunch (or have lunch in Dinant). Breaking up the time the way it currently is made lunch incredibly rushed, especially when fighting through two separate Christmas market crowds. Perhaps this is ample time during other times of the year. Also, free time after the tour is rushed. Rearranging the lunch would greatly improve the overall experience.

Dinant travel time is not worth lt, there is nothing to do or see there. We spent around 2 hours to go there and leave, only to spend 40 mins there without any explanation Luxembourg has way more to offer but we only spent 2 hours there. And we took 2 hours to get there, and 3 hours to come back to Brussels Therefore i recommend to take a full day tour to Luxembourg and skip Dinant

It was a long bus ride, but worth getting to see the city and get some history and civics information about them. Our guide Miriam was fantastic, we really appreciated everything. We stopped in Dinant first due to the sunset schedule, and had a nice afternoon/evening in Luxembourg.
The bus part of the tour was great, however there was no tour in either city.

The guide's ability to speak English and Spanish equally was outstanding. While I don't speak much Spanish, the coverage seemed to be equal and fair. The information she shared was interesting and just what I would want in a perfect tour. What didn't happen that I expected was for her to guide us through Luxembourg and Dinant. Had she given us a tour of each rather than dropping us off to fend for ourselves, then this would have been an outstanding tour and a must do for all travelers. She also walked way too fast. I do not have long stride and I had to run to keep up several times. There was a fellow traveler who appeared to have MS or something similar and I wondered how on earth she was making it! I wish the guide had been more empathetic to our needs as travelers and more of a tour guide than on a daily run. What Viator can consider doing if for some reason they don't want us to have a tour in each town location, is to update their description to say that the history and facts of each location will happen on the bus and it is up to the tourist to figure out how they will get a guide of each city on the ground. At least with that I could have made a different decision when selecting a tour. The bus was comfortable, gratefully not overly crowded. It did not have Wi-Fi/electrical, so I would fix that too.

interesting and beautiful sceneries. Luxembourg is such a nice country. It's so clean. The small town / village called Dinant (Belgium) is amazing, and so beautiful. We stopped there for about one hour on the way back to Brussels.

It is a nice trip with beautiful sceneries. The travel guide is knowledgeable. I will recommend it to others. If you can make some improvement, I suggest that Some hotel pickup could be added which will make the trip more attractive.

Great tour combination offering the opportunity to go to the lush and rich country of Luxembourg and the underrated Dinant from Brussels. Trip was operated though in at least 4 different languages so a lot of listening in different languages….
