Such a great experience. The team was very communicative in the days leading up to the tour. Sent us instructions for our hotel pickup and what fees we’d be paying on-site ($40) for park entry fee and bike as fee. This information is included in their listing but it’s a nice reminder.
For our 10am tour, we were told to be downstairs by 7:55am but our driver arrived at 8:29am. Our hotel bellboys took the initiative and contacted them on our behalf around 8:15am to which they said they were behind on some of their other pickups, but it’ll be about 13 more minutes before they arrive. We didn’t receive any notification from the company at all about their tardiness.
We were picked up with others staying in our hotel area (tourist corridor) and we arrived at Cabo Adventures Tierra Sagrada around 9:45am.
Once we were dropped off at the park, we were directed by the team to go to the check in counters, where you’ll receive a band based on your activity for the day. We were then told to have a seat and we would be called when our guides were ready. At this point you can go to the bathroom, make purchases from their small shop, or learn about other activities they host. Almost exactly at the start time (10am), they came over and took us to the back where we had the option to put our things in a locker for free (which we did), and put on our gear (helmet, elbow and knee pads).
The activity: Learned about e-bikes for about 15 min then practiced using them. I’ve never rode an e-bike so this is an experience. I’d recommend knowing how to ride a bike as a minimum for this adventure. The e-bike experience lasted about 1.5hrs since it was just me and my fiancé on this tour. If you are on this tour with other groups, it’ll likely be much shorter. With it just being us, we got the “VIP” treatment, allowing us to experience the tour based on our own riding levels. Isha, our primary guide, felt we were really good with the bikes, so she took a more challenging route on the desert course. Once you get the hang of it, it’s a fun experience. We first rode through the desert area for about 20-25 min and had a couple of stops to drink water and enjoy the scenery. Now, the more challenging aspect, riding on the beach. This is where I felt I’d fall the most. Dry sand is looser, making you feel the traction/tread more, but this is “normal”. I felt like I was going to fall off a few times on the dry sand since I tried to course correct whenever I felt like I was losing control of the bike. The wet sand is easy to ride on since it’s a harder surface. Word of advice, do not follow along where other bikes have rode if you can. Doing so will make it more difficult to ride.
After 40+ min bike ride through desert and beach, we took a short walk to the photo center where you had the option to purchase pictures, a video, and print outs. We decided on the Ultimate package since it had everything we wanted, which included all our pictures, and a drone video. Theres no obligation to purchase. I dont think there is an issue with bringing your phone but its possible you will lose it if its not secure. Our phone and video package costed $117usd, and they airdrop everything to you if you have an iphone. Not sure what they do for androids.
It was now time for us to sit down and enjoy the last part of our experience. We made margaritas from scratch which was delicious! After making the margaritas, we were escorted to the buffet where we were served whatever we wanted. Options included salad (ranch dressing only), cactus salad, broccoli and cauliflower, tomato and feta salad, chicken mole, rice, ribs, beans and a corn quesadilla with cheese. I had almost everything and the food was surprisingly good. We were also offered dessert. I don’t remember what it was called but it was a fried flour tortilla with sugar and cinnamon. Think churros.
We were then treated to a tequila tasting and learned about tequila, agave, and some information about the Mexico City and Oaxaca. The 3 tequila tastings we had were exquisite. Isha also brought us oranges and lime with tajin. These fruits with the tajin were magical! They brought out the flavors of the tequila and it was so good!
The listing online says 3 hours which is a bit misleading. Your time spent at the park itself will last 3 hours. The location of the experience is about 40+ minutes away from Cabo San Lucas (closer to Todo Santos). Factor in the other guests who will get picked up and dropped off along your route. Between pickups, experiences, lunch, tequila tastings, and drop offs, you are looking at anywhere from 5-6hrs for this experience. Pickups are mixed so you’ll likely have a variety of people with different excursions from their park getting picked up.
Isha was the primary tour guide, and she was awesome. She was with us from beginning to end. After the bike ride, she is the guide who showed us how to make the margaritas, escorted us to the buffet, and provided the tequila tasting. Isaac was also our guide but was only with us for the bike ride. They were both friendly, attentive, and accommodating.
A couple who was picked up in our car booked the camel ride with this company and said it was short, only about 20-25 min long. They had about 8 other people on the tour with them which is likely why the camel ride was this length. Just an FYI.
At the end of the day, I would absolutely book this again and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys adventure! Everything I’ve written isn’t to deter but to inform so you can make an informed decision about whats best for you. BOOK THIS TOUR TODAY!
