Very memorable tour! Our guide, Daniel, was very friendly and full of knowledge about the areas we visited and Mayan culture. We learned so much that day and left with a greater appreciation of the history and culture! Bernardo, the driver, was also a excellent and made the day go very smoothly. I recommend a good nights sleep prior to this tour, as it is action packed. Chichen Itza was gorgeous and the tour was very informative. The lunch buffet was delicious, especially the pork tacos. The cenote was so beautiful and refreshing to swim in- jump in, you will not regret it! Overall a great experience!

An amazing day made better by an amazing guide!
Clark_I, Sep 2023
So we had Rodrigo and Luis for our tour and let me tell you, Rodrigo was absolutely amazing. His knowledge of everything Mayan and Chichen Itza blew us away. He was super friendly, fun and had genuine passion for what he was doing. It was extremely hot and there’s not much shade so definitely take a hat and sunscreen. The Cenote was a nice addition but I felt we had a little bit too long there. I would have rather only 1 hour there and an hour extra at Chichen itza. The only downside of the day was the shopping at the local market, staff follow you around and you can feel a little pressured. Apart from that, such an amazing day with a great driver and an even better guide!

Early morning Chichen Itza is worth it!
Robin_S, Sep 2023
Chichen Itza was incredible, absolutely worth leaving early to see before the crowds and the heat really pick up. Our guide Rodrigo was phenomenal, showed us photos and acoustic tricks that I wouldn't have known without a guide, and helped us get excellent pictures of our own. The Mayan village part of the trip was a tourist trap, of course, but not an egregious one. The food was okay, the cenote was actually pretty nice, as there were a bunch of friendly fish inside.

Unforgettable experience
Viridiana_M, Sep 2023
Unforgettable experience!!! A must do!!! Carmen was our tour guide and she was awesome. She was very knowledgeable, friendly, nice and funny.
Fantastic trip with a fantastic guide. Worth the money!
Matthew_H, Sep 2023
Our guide, Marco, was superb and extremely knowledgeable. It was a very early start, but the best way to do it, as we beat the crowds and got to enjoy the site while it was quiet and virtually tourist free. The cool water Cenote was also a very welcomed way to end a hot trip. Only thing that wasn't 5 star was the lunch (like a Mexican school canteen), but overlooked as the rest of the trip was great.
Best Tour Ever!
Elena_R, Sep 2023
Marco was our guide and he was amazing! The best tour guide we have ever had! He was so knowledgeable and included all of us during the tour. He’s even an amazing photographer!
Wilma_G, Sep 2023
Good tourist guide. Everything had been explained. Good experience to see the beauty of Chichen Itza and Canote.
Highly recommended!

Marco, our guy! Can't say enough of good things about him. We went on the tour on 9/1/2024. He's professional, knowledgeable, humorous, experienced, passionate, friendly, and overall just a very well rounded tour guide that really took care of us from the beginning to the end. You can tell that he loves what he does and is very proud of it. The driver (sorry forgot his name) was also very professional and friendly, the whole ride felt super smooth and safe, A+ driver! Booking the early access was the best decision we made, it was very worth it to wake up early to beat the crowd and the heat. The weather was also very nice and not extremely hot in early September. Don't hesitate to book this tour, you would learn so much from Marco and be blown away by the Mayan culture.
Amazing experience

Is an amazing tour , the time is perfect , no too much people at that time in the places; the guides , the driver, the places everything was excellent
Awesome tour
MariaAndrea_J, Sep 2023
Esther and Rodrigo were great! Rodrigo gave such insightful tour of Chichen itza, really worth standing under the sun for 2 hours! He talked abt its history so passionately and I learned so much. It really is an interesting place. The early start was advantageous too, less people (nicer photos) and not as hot. i would highly recommend this trip!
Limited time at Chichen Itza with Dishonest Guide
Christian_C, Sep 2023
Pick-up and drop-off was great and on time. The tour guide, Marco, was knowledgeable, engaging, and charismatic during the brief time we were at Chichen Itza (only 2 hours). Unfortunately, these characteristics also led to a false sense of trust so beware. He is a hustler who is only out to get the most money out of you. He overcharged us for our entrance ticket and did not allow us to purchase our own tickets at the gates and conveniently had no change if you had a large bill (as was my case). Our printed tickets had a completely different price from what he quoted us and he kept the difference (about 80 pesos less per person). He discouraged and rushed us from buying anything from the vendors at Chichen Itza. Marco encouraged us to not buy souvenirs at Chichen Itza and instead from the “real Mayans” he wanted us to at the store at Chichikan (where the Cenato is located). He obviously gets a cut from any and every store there. The hustle begins with the “healer” at the entrance where he encourages you to buy obsidian and continues from there at their only souvenir shop (where prices are 4 times what they were at Chichen Itza). Ultimately, we were rushed to get to this location and weren’t allowed to explore or shops at Chichen Itza from local vendors because he did not get a cut from them. The Cenato is not worth it and a complete tourist trap. The “tequila tasting” was a joke. Marco mentioned how great of a deal it was to buy their overpriced tequila at around $100+ USD after having 1/4 of “shots.” The buffet was garbage and had 0 protein options, it was all carbs (rice, tortillas, chips, pasta, etc). Read back at older reviews buried with the positive ones. Some people are blinded by Marco’s charisma and warmth (the true nature of a hustler).
Response from Host, Sep 2023
Hello Christian, We are very sorry that the tour was not what you expected and that you did not feel it genuine, we will considerate that feedback for sure. On the other hand, Marco is a very honest person who would never try to steal money from customers, so there must have been some sort of confusion, however we will review this situation with him. Thanks for taking the time to share your opinion. Mariana, Amigo tours
A must-do experience!
Renee_J, Aug 2023
This is a must-do! Our guide Marco was so knowledgeable and made the experience that much better. Highly recommend. Take plenty of water, sunscreen and cash for drinks as the lunch place did not accept credit cards.
Experience of a lifetime
Kristen_L, Aug 2023
Early access was worth getting up at 4am. This allowed for great pictures at the ruins. Our tour guide was wonderful and shared amazing history and culture of the Mayan people and intricate details of the Chichen Itza ruins. Clean comfy bus. The buffet was poor but everything else was great.

Awesome tour that Marcela gave. She gave us so much information, took our bomb photos and overall had great energy. Would definitely recommend her. Also, Luna the driver got us to our locations on time and safe. Made sure the bus was nice and cool for our return after our tours.

Makai_R, Aug 2023
Our guide Marco was amazing, so knowledgeable which made the experience that much better. I do not believe I would have enjoyed the trip nearly as much without his extensive knowledge. I think we were extremely lucky to have him as our guide in such a magical place. The cenote was breathtaking and truly a magical experience, well worth the drive in the comfortable bus. I also recommend the early entrance due to heat and the crowds later in the day.
Response from Host, Aug 2023

A great day out - ran like clockwork
Matthew_R, Aug 2023
This trip has the best timings of all the trips available to Chichen Itza. It's a 250 mile round trip and some tours don't get back until 9pm so start earlier and get back in time to enjoy your evening. Our guide today, Marco, was excellent, not only with his historical knowledge but also his photographic know how so you can get some great shots to remember your day. The cenote was also wonderful. I highly recommend this trip 😊

A nightmare of a company
Yasmina_H, Aug 2023
This company took my money and never turned up. I booked to be picked up, paid my ticket to Chichen Itza but they never came to pick me up. They lied and said they did and I was not there when that was not the case. I stayed in the biggest resort in Cancun and the gate does not let any one in without keeping record. On the day, they supposedly were meant to pick me up, they lied and said they came in but the gate has no record of them coming in. They are liars and are crooked. How shameful and left a terrible taste of the culture on my mouth. The Amigo tour local company are crooks and Viator is an even worst company for not taking responsibilities for anything. Pay over $100 for a tour that never took place. An absolute disappointment. Do Not book with Viator!

Great day trip
Emma_F, Aug 2023
Very early start due to location of our hotel, however worth it as we were the first people into the site and left as it was getting really busy. Kids loved the Cenote swimming. Food was very average and drinks expensive but to be expected I guess. Our guide Marco was fantastic. So knowledgeable, fantastic English and his love and admiration for the Mayan culture and people came over very clearly. I feel we learnt so much from him but also only brushed the surface of his knowledge. Overall I would really recommend this trip, it is a long day but you shouldn't miss the opportunity of seeing this UNESCO world heritage site and learning about the Mayans.
Response from Host, Aug 2023
Dear Emma_F, We are delighted to know that we offered you good service and a memorable experience. Thank you very much for giving us your trust, we deeply appreciate it. Mariana, Amigo tours
