Kathryn,
We take all reviews seriously whether it is a 1 star or a 5 star. Fortunately, it is very rare for us to receive less than a 5 star. We believe the reason we receive primarily 5 star reviews is due to our great product, our top notch customer service, our incredible guides and office staff, and our unsurpassed safety record.
On your particular tour, your guide chose to not ascend Fremont peak due to lighting. Again, safety is a priority here at Colorado Jeep Tours. He also brought complementary rain jackets for the crew to wear. Here in Colorado the weather is ever changing which is one of the reasons it is so beautiful here. Without rain the landscape would look nothing like it does. When you made your reservation, rain was in the forecast for that day. You also checked a box on your reservation reminding you that we go rain or shine just in case you had not thought to look at the forecast. You check another box stating that you understood that we reserve the right to alter tours based on weather, road conditions, time restrictions, and the SAFETY of our clients and staff. I am truly sorry that Mother Nature didn't get the memo that you wanted a sunny day that day and then to make things worse she tossed out a little hail to add a little more adventure to your adventure. Keep in mind that this is a high altitude desert and we only get 12.5 inches of moisture a year. So your odds of getting a sunny day are usually pretty good. I hope you will try us again.
Sorry we can't control the weather but not sorry about playing it safe.
