Walking among our history!

Walking within the story of history was surreal. Sitting in the living room and seeing the bedroom of Oswald’s rooming house unexpected and a thought-provoking moment. Overall, a great tour & Orlando did a really good job.

Educational and put things in perspective

Preston was our tour guide and he was phenomenal! He answered all of our questions and was very knowledgeable on the subject as well as the area (not just in relation to the assassination, but just the Dallas area overall). I was just expecting a play by play for the event, but Preston provided our group with a ton of background knowledge that really put things into perspective, so the overall experience felt fully fleshed out and explained by the time we were finished. I loved getting to actually see the scenes where things went down. My friends and I were particularly impressed with the Rooming House—it was incredible to see where LHO was staying, and the fact that we just so happened to meet the current owner of the house who knew him in 1963 was insane. Plus, seeing the news broadcast on the old tube tv was a fun little twist that helped transport the tour group back to 1963. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and my friends and I can’t thank Preston enough for his story telling abilities that took us all back (and for putting up with our inevitable conspiracy theory questions at the end). His succinct explanations made it clear that he really knew the material and included some of his own experiences to provide further context. I loved that he’s a historian because I felt that it really added to the tour. I’d also like to praise his tone on the matter—there was an almost reverence to the way he explained things when it came down to the assassination and the Kennedy family. I really appreciated how there wasn’t any joking or making light of it while maintaining the balance of explaining the facts of a dark subject. Overall, I’d say it was clear that he had a respect and passion for the historical event. Handled very very well. I thoroughly enjoyed this tour and would recommend it to any other history buffs, or even individuals who want to know a bit more about what happened to president Kennedy in 1963. If you have any control on your tour guide at all, I’d highly recommend Preston for the job because he really put things into perspective.
