Overview

Delve into the darker recesses of Dublin’s haunted history on this evening gravedigger ghost tour. With your (slightly spooky) local guide, learn about the devastating human effect of the medieval plague, visit eerie local sites such as Bully's Acre and Kilmainham Jail, and hear how opportunist gravediggers made a killing (so to speak) on body snatching. Cap it off with a ‘ghoulish brew’ at Gravediggers Pub.
  • Discover Ireland's haunted past on a Dublin ghost tour by bus
  • Visit the chilling Bully's Acre cemetery and learn how watchmen witnessed gravediggers in action
  • Listen to accounts of strange occurrences witnessed at Kilmainham Jail
  • Free pass for the ‘Haunted Dublin Historical Walking Tour’ included

What To Expect

As evening sets in, meet your tour guide for a journey into the gruesome side of Dublin. Travel by bus to each sinister location, where you have a chance to stroll and hear chilling tales of hauntings and misdeeds.

See Dublin Castle and Christ Church as you head to the first stop—St. Audoen’s Church, one of the city’s most haunted locations. Learn about the site’s grisly past including its bordering district known as ‘Hell,’ 'The Black Dog' jail with its mysterious phantom pig and the burning of Darkey Kelly, an accused witch and serial killer whose infamous ghost still wanders the area.

Your next stop is Kilmainham Jail (Kilmainham Gaol), a menacing stone building that has seen scores of death from battle and execution since its construction in the 1790s. Hear tales about Kilmainham’s resident ghosts before heading to Bully’s Acres, a millennia-old graveyard that was once a ripe picking zone for local grave robbers. Hear tales of body snatching that stretch back to the cemetery's opening.

Afterward, you may feel like a drink. Accompany your guide to the Gravediggers Pub, passing by Croppies Acre and St. Michan’s Church along the way. At the pub, partake in a complimentary ‘ghoulish brew’ with your group.

Your return trip passes by Black Church, also known as St. Mary’s Chapel of Ease, and the ruins of the original Augustinian Priory Chapter House. Your guide provides cringe-worthy tales of the plague house that once stood on the grounds. Return to your original departure point once night has completely descended on the city.

Added bonus! Your tour ticket includes a free 'Haunted Dublin Historical Walking Tour' pass. Any time within one month of your gravedigger tour, use your ticket to experience even more of Dublin’s dark underbelly—witches, gravediggers and creepy stalkers, oh my!

An OK experience

The Bus Journey and the narrator in the bus kept the experience interesting More ghost stories and less plague stories would make the journey more interesting
Informative and fun, a must do!
Liz_P, Dec 2022
The guides are fantastic! The store is fun, informative, and hilarious! I learned a lot of history, and was very entertained throughout. A definite must do for any trip to Dublin. (The tour seat is on the second level of the bus, so you have to be comfortable with ascending/descending the stairs 4 to 5 times throughout the tour.)
BEST GHOST TOUR EVER !

We’ve taken haunted tours around the US and London and this was THE BEST OF ALL ! The tour guide was brilliant, the tour bus was incredible, and we were genuinely startled and entertained. We told people about it the next day. Thank you for a GREAT TIME !
Great tour!!

This was a really fun tour! The plague-ridden staff were awesome! We loved the scary bus and the stops at different locations with more plague descriptions and skits by the talented actors! A very fun way to spend our last night in Dublin!

Non Existant Tour Scam
Steven_H, Jul 2020
Booked a tour in Dublin as a surprise for my partners birthday, paid in advance and got confirmation email with tickets and pick up point. Arrived at pick up point 25 minutes early as email instructed to arrive at least 10 minutes before tour started. After waiting 15 minutes on the tour bus to arrive I tried contacting the customer service number who didnt pick up. I don't know how this company can get away with selling tickets for a tour that isn't even currently operating, absolute scam. Do not use this vendor, I certainly won't make the same mistake again!
Terrible!
Avan_B, Mar 2020
Actor coughed all over hacking and spitting during workd wide virus outbreak The foul language used was very unnecessary and in Very poor taste ! There was no real attempt at historical ghost stories Slap stick !
Fun & Engaging!

I have to be honest - standing outside the bus with a loud group of other riders...I had my reservations. However I need not have worried because the Gravedigger Ghost Tour was a whole lot of fun and more! The tour is very tongue in cheek but you do get some historical info along with some scares and a lot of laughs. Our guide was entertaining and kept up the pace brilliantly. I had a fantastic time and would definitely recommend this tour!
Absolutely amazing

Me and my best friend we’re stuck on things to do as we regularly visit Dublin and had done everything in the past. We are so pleased we did the ghost tour as it was a wonderful, fun filled evening. Couldn’t recommend it enough.

Not what you would expect

Myself and three other adults went in this tour. Nowhere did the literature represent that it was a theatrical tour. By the end of the tour we all left before the tour hit the pub. For the price of the admission it was not worth the money or the time.
Would have been better of we could see outside.
Angela68_10, Aug 2019
Hoping to see a bit of the city but sadly could see nothing. We only stopped at three places. The guide gave a very spirited performance.
Great Way to Learn the Spooky Past of Dublin!
Diane_S, Aug 2019
Aiden, Andy, and Sean were all amazing on the tour. It was very interactive and entertaining! Loved the costumes and bus decor as well as the animation of the actors during the stories and the stops at actual spooky places in Dublin. The gravedigger bar at the end was a great place to have a pint and take your free shot that they give you! Highly Recommend!
