Was a excellent walking tour through the old part of Edinburgh. Walking the royal mile to the castle and also see different areas that inspired the Harry Potter series.

Guide never showed up

Tour guide never showed up, which told us he was not the assigned guide when tried to contact him. No guide ever showed up. Not reliable arrangements between operator and local guides. It’s a flipping coin, you might get the “great” tour as most reviews says, or you might end up guiding yourself after wasting your vacation time waiting for nobody.

Waste of time and money. Our guide Doug, who is 67 years old, showed no interest in taking us to actual highlights as we stated in our booking. It was a walking tour, which we understood upon booking, but he was not interested in stopping at places of interest to us. Walked so fast we had trouble keeping up. I could hardly get any photos, as he just wanted to keep going, and when he did stop, he walked right in front of my camera and blocked my photo shot. Kept stopping at street signs and explaining how it got its name, which is ok once, but not all the time. This was our first time in Scotland with very limited time so we really wanted and expected to see all the highlights as tourists do. This did not happen. He made this tour more about what he wanted to see, like a library or street sign. We walked and walked to lots of BORING places. Did not even show us the castle or anything that a tourist would want to see. He did not come prepared or organised, and when he met us at the hotel, had no clue where he would take us so had to figure it out as he went along. In the end, we cut this tour short by an hour as we had had enough. I definitely DO NOT recommend this tour. Save your money.

Sarah was the single most wonderful tour guide I have had in my lifetime of travelling 36 countries and counting! My boyfriend and I toured Edinburgh with her for an afternoon, and she was very knowledgeable and friendly! We learned so much about the city in our 4 hours with her. In the end, it felt like we truly made a new best friend. I cannot say enough about Sarah and highly recommend her for anyone looking for a fun and informative tour guide while in Scotland.
