    What To Expect

    Arrive at the entrance of the Scotch Whisky Experience, located right beside Edinburgh Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Your experience begins with a journey through a replica of the Scotch whisky distillery, during which the production processes for Scotch whisky are revealed.

    Then, a whisky expert introduces you to the different aromas of whiskies before offering you a taste of your preferred whisky. Visitors aged under 18 can sample Irn Bru, a famous Scottish soft drink.

    After viewing one of the world’s largest collections of Scotch whisky, receive a crystal whisky tumbler as a souvenir of your visit to the Scotch Whisky Experience.

    The information was wonderful and very informative but we only tried two whiskeys. I thought we would at least try 4. Didn’t realize that you had to pay a lot more in order to try more. Was wanting to find a good Scottish whiskey.

    Good tour but very commercial. Excellent to see the extensive scotch collection! Worth participating but not as wonderful as a private distillery tour that includes the whole process of the making of scotch and is more personalized.

    Good experience got to learn about the 5 different regions and their flavours . If one likes whiskey it’s good to know about the spirit that you are consuming. We tend to buy a few brands and continue to do so, this tour helps you in appreciating the other good whiskey’s too. Useful

    Great scotch tasting experience. The bartenders Kev and Jim were fabulous. and knowledgeable bartenders. Alec, the manager, was very helpful. Lots of scotch bottles to see. Bought 2 bottles in the amazing store of unique scotches that we tasted and were recommended by Kev. Would do it all day!

    I enjoy this tour. It covered a lot of information about whiskey that I didn't know. I loved the interactive experience with the scratch and sniff cards to find which type of whiskey I would prefer. They did a very good job putting together a informative experience tour.

    The whisky collection room was amazing collection. The narrator guide was good but felt rushed. Pours were very small. Nothing memorable.

    The location of building was great ! Right in the middle of all the festivals are going , on the foothill of the Edinburgh castle. Castle Hill rd is closed for cars during summer festival. So, if you take a taxi there, you have to get out 2 blocks away and walk up to the whisky building. If you like walking , there are so many activities going , you will enjoy even after the whisky tour. On the other hand, person like my husband who couldn't walk 2 blocks uphill, it was impossible to get to the place. (he ended up not taking the tour ) Only I joined the tour. It was interesting.

    Lucy was an Excellent tour guide, friendly and very knowledgeable on the subject. Enjoyed the whiskey tasters. Shame that the little tram/train was stopped in January due to safety Iwas looking forward to a ride
