What To Expect

Make your way to the meeting point on Edinburgh’s Royal Mile to meet your guide. Traveling aboard an air-conditioned coach, head west into the Scottish countryside to discover the dramatic scenery that served as the backdrop to the Outlander TV series.

Stop to enjoy views of Linlithgow Palace en-route to the first destination—Doune Castle, which doubles up as Castle Leoch on-screen. Then, continue to the county of Fife to see the village of Culross, better known as ‘Cranesmuir’, the village where Claire was accused of witchcraft.

After lunch (own expense), spend time exploring Falkland, where the show’s Inverness scenes were shot, before continuing to other key Outlander sites, including Aberdour.

After an Outlander-inspired day, return to Edinburgh, where your tour ends back on the Royal Mile.

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.

Unfortunately, I missed the tour. Why? Because I was provided with the wrong information as to where to get the tour, I was told to go to 40 High St. In reality, we should have gone to the bus station. But I was not provided with that information. I am not happy.

Connor was fantastic! From the very start of our trip he had great mix of Scottish history, Outlander facts, humor, and a solid playlist to top it off. He even had great dinner recommendations after our day concluded. The pace of the day was perfect and the I couldn’t recommend this tour enough!

From an Outlander fan whose read all the books at least twice and have seen all of the shows numerous times, you nailed it! Every castle was amazing and the choice of stops was perfect. Our guide Cliff was most helpful and knowledgeable and I loved that he played Outlander music for part of the tour. I would VERY highly recommend this trip to all Outlander lovers and to those who aren't fans as well as its just a great tour!

Poor directions

The most memorable past was missing it. The ‘meeting place’ address on our confirmation email was 26 elder. Nowhere did it instruct us to go inside to find our guide. We waited outside with another couple from 8:35 to 8:50. When no one came out, I went inside to use the restroom and saw a queue and asked the person if they know about our tour. She told me it left at 8:45. So we missed our prepaid tour and had to pay another company to take the same tour. The meeting place instructions we poor, especially for people unfamiliar with that area. We have other tours booked through Viator and feel, as good customers, we should be entitled to a refund. Would highly recommend outlander tour a fantastic experience.Our tour guide was fantastic, knowledgeable and entertaining. She made a point of interacting with each individual and bringing the group together. Not only did she fill us in on Outlander but Scottish history, places to visit, architecture and tips and hints to getting the most from our trip to Scotland.

Do not waste your money. While the locations we went to were great, our tour guide, Ali P. was just awful. We knew more about where we were going then she did. We actually walked right by one of the filming locations in the show and she didn't even mention it. Her driving bordered on dangerous and her overall attitude was dismissive. The majority of the time she just played music as we were driving instead of giving us any history. The most talking she did was on our way back to Edinburgh, she spent over a half hour telling us how she lost her job during covid and how it lead her to her job now all in an an attempt to get us to give her a tip.

If you are a fan of the Outlander show please go on this tour. Our guide Ali was fantastic. We got lucky that the tour was completely booked but a few people didn't show up. Left us plenty of room on the van to spread out. Ali spent time telling us about the history of Scotland AND showing us exact scenes at the places we stopped, just in case we forgot. She was a wonderful driver and, again, if you're an Outlander fan....go on this tour. First stop was "Lollybrach" and it brought tears to my eyes to see it come to life. Such a great tour and seeing the beauty of Scotland. Plenty of time to walk around at each stop. Loved it.
