Max weight is 220 per person, guest will be weighed onsite. Departs from Kayak Village, Fajardo. Must arrive 30 mins earlier than the starting time to find parking & to sign waiver. Location is very crowded. You must look for the Pure Adventure sign, company name & logo. Come prepared to get wet!

For safety reasons pregnant women cannot participate. (NO exclusions)
Our kayaks are all tandem kayaks for two people - you are booking per person not per kayak. If one space is left, that means there is 1 space on a tandem kayak.
Guest under 18 yrs of age must be accompanied by an adult.

The owner of the service animal must provide a Licensed Life-vest by the Coast Guard for the animal. The animal must be in total control all the time. Keep in mind that there will be many people around in the dark.
Guest that are not able to complete the tour for any reason will not be provided a refund of any type.
All guests must be able to row their kayaks by themselves. One of the requirements is that you are able to get in and out of the kayak on your own and be able to maneuver it. If you are an unexperienced kayaker we highly suggest you choose the earlier tour.
If one space is left, that means there is 1 space (for 1 person) on a tandem kayak (No single kayaks available). You will be accompanied by another guest on the tour.
No Expecting Mothers
For safety reasons, children under 6 years old CANNOT participate in PURE ADVENTURE tour.
Those who have epilepsy, back problems, heart conditions, dizziness, recent surgery or any other condition that may put life in risk are not allowed to participate in PURE ADVENTURE tour.

Cancellation Policy

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.
This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.

This was a phenomenal experience. We booked the 6:30 to 8:30 tour. All the guides were incredibly friendly and helpful. I’m glad we scheduled the earlier tour, as we were able to enjoy the mangrove trees during daylight, and also see the bioluminescence after the sun went down. One of the guides also showed us Venus, Mars, the Little Dipper, and Scorpio. The guides also gave a great explanation of the variation of the bioluminescence. It was absolutely incredible to see. I highly recommend this company.

From the beginning, the tour guides (Jadiel, Enrique, and several others) put safety first and made everyone feel at ease. Although I was initally concerned about kayaking in darkness, it was worth it seeing how increible the bioluminiscent bacteria sparkled in the water. Definitely recommend Bio Bay Kayak tours!

We did this tour to see the bioluminescent algae and it did not disappoint! We also booked our tour on the same day as the super blue moon which seemed like an inconvenience, but did not hinder our experience at all! I loved that they brought a huge tarp for us to see the algae under the moonlight and gave us ample time to practice kayaking before it got dark. Would recommend for anyone seeking an amazing kayak adventure in PR beautiful waters. Don't forget your bug spray!

Fun but not worth the money.

Ok experience. Definitely didn’t last the full two hours. There were way to many people on the tour and it gets very congested when you are going through the channel to get to the bay. Other kayakers WILL crash into you. Once you get to the bay it’s relaxing but we felt pretty rushed. They don’t let you take pictures. Also, the directions they send you do not get you to the actual location. It took a little googling and asking locals to actually figure out where to go.

My wife and I took our kids on this tour. The trip was well organized and the guides were very helpful. We had a 6:15 reservation and we’re concerned about whether we would be able to see the bioluminescent effects. Since the sun was still setting when we got Laguna Grande, the guides said we could wait until the sunset to see the bioluminescence better. They didn’t immediately turn us around but instead we’re very conscious of what people had paid money to see. In that regard, they also brought a tarp with them so that groups of people could be under the tarp so that they could see the effect. Keep in mind light pollution and moon phases affect your ability to see the bioluminescence. The fact that they were mindful of this point and planned for it is telling. Our guides were Javier, Natalia, Enrique, Yadira, and Catalina. They were all spot on. After the tour, they had snacks and water for everyone, which again was thoughtful since I’m sure for the novice paddler, the 1.5 mile (round trip 3 miles) trip was challenging.

Our best experience in Puerto Rico

This was our favorite experience while in Puerto Rico. We kayaked through a mangrove forest out to the bay. The sky was overcast and the tide was out so that we were able to see the bioluminescence really well all through the channel. Enrique, a marine biologist, provided a really good explanation of the science of it all. All of the guides were top notch: Natalia, Javier, Amaury, Catalina, and Enrique. A must do!

I had no memorable parts. It was my first time in the bio kayaking and I believe they could have done a better job with organizing. The tour guides were good but the experience itself was not. It was too expensive for what it was for. I wouldn’t do it again or recommend.
