Verona

After breakfast, reach “fair Verona”, a museum en plain air. A local professional will be waiting for you and take you on a guided tour. The fascinating mix of historical periods and cultures (both classical and Germanic) is a blend of Nordic as well as Mediterranean influences that is both ancient and modern. A walk through its narrow streets will allow you to get in touch with Verona’s varied and fascinating past: traces of its splendid Roman origins, its medieval structures, its magnificent renaissance palaces, as well as the impressive fortifications protecting it. Two of William Shakespeare's plays are set in Verona: “Romeo and Juliet” is by far the most famous one. We suggest taking a look at the so-called Juliet’s home (and its balcony, said to have been the legendary balcony of the famous “Oh Romeo, Rome” tragedy’s scene). It is a medieval building located in via Cappello. Capello is the name of a family who resided in the edifice in the 14th century.

Strada del Vino Franciacorta (Franciacorta wine route)

After the Verona tour, you will drive toward the territory of Franciacorta, whose soil consisting of gravel and sand over limestone is ideal for the cultivation of grapes and for winemaking. A wonderful tour with an amazing guide. If you only have a few days to travel in the lake region, this tour will hit all of the highlights. It was also a very good blend of guided tour with enough free time to shop and explore on our own. The only reason I did not provide a 5 star rating was the hotels. Although they were clean and convenient, they were quite basic.

This tour far exceeded my expectations. Our tour guide was Andrea and the bus driver was Alfredo. Having them as our leaders made this an incredible experience. They worked very well together and it was highly organized. I travelled on my own for 3 weeks and I anchored my vacation to this tour. Im so glad I did it was the best 4 days of my trip... probably any trip that Ive ever gone on. We had a big group and the tour was bi-lingual in English and Spanish. The group size worked out well because we had a comfortable bus and most people on the tour were very friendly. Also, Andrea was very attentive to everyone and made sure that they were enjoying their experience, feeling well, had recommendations for where to eat dinner, etc. The itinerary for this tour is incredible. It is picturesque and more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. The tour was well organized and we had plenty of time at each stop. We reached the hotel each night between 6-7pm and had time to explore the town on our own or have an early night to relax. I would definitely take a walk and/or get dinner in Como. Andrea had recommendations in each town, especially in Como so we could all make the most of our time. The days were full but very relaxing and peaceful. The tour was a great value and I recommend it to anyone and everyone.

The tour was fine, but Andrea the guide was not. He would vacillate between seeking to ingratiate himself with the majority while throwing the one or two others under the proverbial bus, making them out to be the bad guys. All you had to be was potentially viewed as a problem for the rest of the group and then he would publicly chastise you and in doing so he would think that he was winning favour from the other guests. It was totally Machiavellian. At the start of the tour I asked him to inform our fellow travellers about my wife's sensitivity to fragrances which can result in migraines, but instead of making an announcement to all the passengers he simply handed the mike over to me, leaving us to fend for ourselves, and said something like everyone on this bus is free to say whatever they want. Our group split up in one town, he then changed the meeting time to make it earlier. When we returned and didn't know the new time, since we never heard of the change, he then scolded my wife in front of the whole group. I brought it up to him a few minutes later, pointing to my watch and showing that we weren't late at all, but he still insisted we were and then when we were back on the bus and sitting in our seats with the other passengers he adopted this irrational mode of saying over and over again It's ok... even when you are wrong. A great tour to go on if you get a different guide.

We travelled in a luxury coach with just so much space and comfort. In total we had 6 lake cruises, which were more than we expected. The tour was very full-on, long days with some much to see and enjoy. We have taken hundreds of photos and will be pleased to produce a photo-book to show our friends. Andreas was our informative guide who knew all the details necessary and was well organised with connections for the boats. He was fluent in English, Spanish and a third language which were all necessary for our group. The accommodation was also excellent. We would certainly recommend this tour for anyone who is interested in visiting the lakes area.

If you are lucky enough to have Andrea as your tour guide and Allessio as your driver, you are in for a absolute treat. We loved every moment of this beautiful lakes tour with the adorable and energetic Andrea even guiding us to the most picturesque spot for photos in Bellagio! Everyone on our tour fell in love with Andrea - he was fun, generous buying pastries for everyone in Bergamo, passionate about Italian history, and extremely thoughtful and caring for anyone in the group who was less physically able than others. A true ambassador for all that is good about Italy and a definite highlight of our 3 week stay. Erika, Perth Australia

Not up to Viator quality. We have used Viator for many trips, including three in may. This was the first that was bad. trip was supposed to be in English, not multi national. Most of time guide was speaking Spanish with guests from Argentina.Hotels that were listed as 4 star were not even rated 2 in our opinion. Two of them were in very poor locations, and the guide said it was not safe to go out for dinner on our own. Everynight they collected city tax -why not just include in price? Very tacky.

Wonderful tour. One of the hi lights of my trip to Rome. A small group of 6 so it was very personalised. The places we visited were very scenic and our over ist stops and hotels were great. Our guide Allessandra was friendly, knowledgable and helpful. Really enjoyed this tour!

This is a very well planned and orchestrated tour through the Italian Lakes. Our tour guide, Andre, was knowledgable, energetic and well organized. The bus tours were amazing for great views of picturesque, storybook villages in the foot of the mountains, views of the Dolomites, and of the lakes. This is a feast for artist and camera bugs like my husband as well as anyone who enjoys beautiful landscapes. The tour each day also includes stops in beautiful villages with plenty of time for a leisurely lunch, shopping and strolling through the villages. Additionally, it includes a boat ride on three of the lakes to finish off a perfect tour of the lakes region. Don't miss this tour !

Great views of the lakes from privately chartered boats. Interesting small towns. Andrea was a good guide. Could be better if hotels are located centrally. Pricy, the amount we paid for 3 adults was equal to a double and a single added up, but instead we were short changed on 2 nights, and had to share a triple room.

Don' miss this tour! There were only 6 of us so very personalized service. Expensive but worth it! Most beautiful lakes, mountains and towns anywhere! The lakes are clear, cold and mountain-stream fed. 4-star hotels, Mercedes bus, great guide, food - pasta if you're adventuresome: with rabbit or horsemeat even!, pizza and gelato - OH MY!

This tour was a stand-out for us. There were 16 tourists in our group. We were picked up from our hotel exactly on time in a late model very comfortable tourist coach and introduced to our tour guide who was fantastic. Over the 4 days, we visited 4 of the 5 lakes in the north of Italy and were shown some wonderful sites. On one of the nights, our guide took us to a local restaurant where the owner/chef prepared a genuine Italian meal for us which was fantastic. The tour is well worth the cost and delivered all that was promised. Bob and Chris. New Zealand.
