Truly Awful.
Gordon_W, Sep 2023
A complete rip-off and a truly awful experience. Once we arrived at the station, we had to wait over 30 mins at the station bus stop in order to be able to get on a bus. Then the commentary in the bus broke down within five minutes of starting. We were eventually informed that they were trying to fix it but we had no commentary whatsoever for 10 stops, so we decided to get off and wait for the next bus. It took over 45 mins (despite the advertising stating that the buses should be every 25 mins). I tried calling the customer helpline but there was no reply. In our party we had two octogenarians and they were clearly suffering in the queue (having already had to stand for over 30 mins previously at the train station). Eventually the bus arrived. This time the commentary was working, but it was hopelessly out of sync with the bus, so that we were past the points of interest before the commentary told us about them.. We got off after only four stops and spent the rest of our time in the city on foot. The whole experience was appalling and bordered on farcical. Having been responsible for booking this as a 60th wedding anniversary treat for my partner’s parents and also for her sister and brother-in-law, I felt both embarrassed and extremely upset. I have contacted the company by message twice, but, again, no reply.
Gaining wait

Big lines. Infrequent service at 25 min intervals. Waited often more than one bus. People think it’s the MTA. (Kingston Trio). Stops not easily identified unless you have keen eyes or have been on them before. We use these to get our bearings and good for that. Maybe just the post Covid travel hangover.

this bus tour gave us a wonderful opportunity to see the city of Florence even though we have been there before. Fortunately, we had beautiful weather to enjoy the trip.
Best ride

It was great ride. I hit all major places that I wanted to see. It’s really great value considering places that distance!
Good ride

Convenient to get around. We used it to get from our apartment to the attractions downtown. I love the upper deck.
Pretty standard

Good to have this option, and experience was straight down the middle- not great, not bad. Red line is so infrequent it makes it tricky to catch without wasting lots of time. The person announcing the stops on the blue line was often difficult to hear and/or understand so we missed our stop a couple of times because they don’t muck around at the stops. Two stops they linger at for much longer is the train station and Piazzale Michelangelo. Ticket process was easy, but it seems a bit silly to have to carry around a piece of paper (flimsy receipt paper) that are your tickets. Having a scanning system on your phone via an app makes much more sense.
Read the reviews, almost scared me away. Glad I didn't listen.

Traveled on 12 Sep, got to train station stop to board first trip. Started with Line A. Lerma Garcia, tour official checked me in. When my paper pass didn't work, she found a workaround and got my ticket. Great seats at the top. Sit on the right hand side for better view both top and bottom. Earphones worked great and the audio commentary was synced with location. A little confusing to find the major sites, but you get left off within a hundred meters, +/-. This is not a taxi, no door to door service, but a lot cheaper. Get on and get off signs posted by bus stops. They are not big, but bright red. Map provided also gives locations. And google maps, can get you there; or ask any local. Most speak English and are helpful. Got off Line A at Piazza Michaelangelo, great views of Florence. Cross the street. To the right, public bathrooms about 100 meters away, clean 1 Euro, to the left the bus stop Line B. Nice two hour drive through outskirts of Florence, ending up in city of Fiesole. 15 minute stop for those that wanted to get off, but not stay for the next bus 75 minutes later. Map gives you interchange stations for Line A and B. In spite of traffic, HOHO buses were within a few minutes of posted times. I rode from 10 am to 4 pm, more than one time around. Both drivers were very good. Gets busier during the day, but no problem getting a seat. You get to keep the earphones. All in all, this gets a positive from my view. I only did the 24 hours as a test. I can see booking the 72 hour and getting off at all the interesting stops. Try it and let me know what you think.

It was so convenient to see the sights by bus….the only downside was waiting at no.1 stop for 40 minutes for the next bus….it seemed like there were only 2 buses running today 12/9….to make a score of ‘excellent’ there needs to be more buses….
Bad experience
Timothy_R, Sep 2023
They did not announce stops and we missed several stops and could not do full route as planned. Had to spend extra money floundering around looking for a taxi
Great experience

The stop that provided the view above the city was a must see!!! Busses on and off were never to full. No long waits for a bus.

The high-up stop with the view of the whole city was spectacular. It was nice to have the audio information during the tour, with historic background.
Worth it for first time in Florence
ursula_c, Sep 2023
It was a good hop on hop off bus experience however the app is very slow basically useless and they aren’t clear on where the stops are before you get on to claim your online ticket. Once you get the map, it’s easy from there. It was nice to sit on the bus with a breeze while enjoying the scenery during a hot day. The bus staff were also very friendly compared to the one we did in Rome. They helped us and even recommended stops based on what we wanted. I do recommend even if it’s just once. Obviously the bus won’t stop at the touristy places but it’s close enough to walk to it within a few minutes. This is the same for public bus transportation. I saw some comments on that but to me this is basic common sense especially seeing how the streets are so narrow and full of crowds of people. You’re in Italy to walk, not to be driving up to the front door of the museums or points of interest. Overall, it was worth it to do once in Florence.

It was very hot that day and we really appreciated the buses with tops on them and we enjoyed the sights of Florence!
Book something else
Shanteya_H, Aug 2023
Don't waste your money and time. Unfortunately when you book you get no instructions or directions to stops. We spent a lot of time looking for where to actually go to no avail. We didn't even see hop on hop off buses at any of the popular sites. We eventually booked a golf cart your by night and it was amazing.

it doesn’t take to the main tourist attractions. You still have to walk a lot to get there. It is fine if you are have time and want to see the city over all
Ready to do the next city!
Lola_M, Aug 2023
The tour folks were super helpful and even gave us tips to make the most of our day! The ride was comfortable and the audio was very informative. Loved it!
Fun way to spend a couple hours!
Susan_m, Jul 2023
We were pleasantly surprised with this bus tour - I almost canceled based on the reviews but glad I didn’t. My teen kids actually asked to go the second day. It was hot and such a great way to cool off and see Florence. Loved the trip to the little town on the red line. Such a nice surprise! Bus was right on time every time. There is an app where you can follow the bus but we realized it too late.
