What To Expect

Learn how to make two of Italy's most popular and delicious foods during this Florence cooking class.

As you get started with your chef, learn about the history of pizza-making in Italy, and the distinct characteristics between pies from each Italian region. Sample an array of pizza flavors as you go and then throw your own creation in the oven to bake.

Continue with a lesson in dessert, as you receive instruction on crafting traditional Italian gelato. While this sweet treat does share similarities to ice cream found in other countries, it typically has a lower amount of butterfat and a unique freezing process that accounts for its dense, flavorful consistency. As your instructor shows you the secrets of the trade, enjoy plenty of samples to satisfy your sweet tooth.

After your class concludes, take home your insider’s tips from your chef to impress your friends in the kitchen.

Upbeat, knowledgeble instructors. Easy to follow directions. Everyone ended with a pizza to be proud of. Met new friends in our group. The instructors and classmates were so kind to our 7-year-old. He had a memorable experience.

It was fun with a teenager. The class chefs were personable and attentive to helping class attendees with their doughs which was the main challenge of the evening. The gelato was more of a demonstration made as a large batch. The pizzas turned out very delicious as pictured, you select your own toppings from options provided. We enjoyed meeting other people, most attendees were American but some Europeans as well.

Jon did a great job teaching us how to make a pizza. Fun class that we would recommend. Gave it 4 stars because in the cooking video they show you making the tomato sauce and prepare the toppings - which you didn’t!
This entire experience has been the highlight of our trip to Florence! Niccolo’ was so knowledgeable and accommodating!

One of my favorite hands on experiences from my honeymoon! This is a must if you want to get away from sightseeing for a few hours and really immerse yourself in the local culture and cuisine! The instructor was so lovely and gave us the best tips on where to find real gelato in Italy! I would definitely do this again!!!

This class exceeded my expectations. Catarina woah phenomenal. She is fun, energetic, engaging and sooo knowledgeable! We got everyone in the class involved. My daughter with food allergies even felt comfortable and safe!! It was our last night in Florence activities (group of 9) and everyone had the best time!!!! Thank you for a fabulous experience and dinner!

Our group of five took this class. Caterina was an excellent teacher and got participants in the class involved. Caterina explained everything by doing a demonstration. Then she walked around the room helping if needed. Almost signed up for a second class to make pasta the next day but it didn’t work with our schedule, wish we could have done it.

We enjoyed the class immensely - our instructor was so much fun and very knowledgeable. We can't wait to try to the recipes at home! The room feels like someone's kitchen, and the food was excellent. Our only suggestion would be to serve the wine at the beginning of the class as part of the experience. The Chianti is too good to drink in a tumbler only at the end!

The family had fun and the pizza and gelato were tasty. I think this experience ends up varying wildly based on the other people doing it with you. We had a fun (not shy) crew. The teacher was nice and helpful .

Such a memorable experience for our family! As with everything in Florence, the cooking school was within walking distance of our flat. Our instructor was fantastic and simply walked us through all of the steps to make amazing pizzas. Lots of delicious toppings so there was something for everyone. Chocolate gelato was made as a group - so good!!
