  • Individuals wearing sleeveless shirts and shorts above knees are not allowed inside the cathedral
  • Near public transportation
  • Not recommended for travelers with back problems
  • No heart problems or other serious medical conditions
  • The Cathedral of Florence is an “operating” church and it can be closed to visitors for any liturgical reason, even without warning (for the funeral of a Bishop, for example)
  • Consider adding buffer time before your next tour, because the Cupola climb may take longer than expected
  • Visitors are advised that the Baptistery is undergoing restoration of the mosaics of the vault. We apologize for the inconvenience.
  • Travelers should have a moderate physical fitness level
  • Consider booking the tour without the Cupola climb if you feel it will be a challenge
  • This tour/activity will have a maximum of 15 travelers

Very knowledgeable and personable guide - Ottavia had a master's in art! She made the tour a lot of fun. And don't skip the climb as you will want to see the paintings in the dome up close!

David is enough just the sheer size and detail. Then the guide brough it all to life. If you are short of time but have the money this skipped the Q to accademia nicely. The Duomo climb is worth every effort. Florence is History at every turn. Put on 6lbs in 3 days...

Great tour. Our guide Chiara was very knowledgeable, courteous, and friendly! Please know the Duomo climb is optional. So anyone who does NOT wish to do the climb, CAN still take the tour.

We had a great time on our tour. The guide was so fun and a wonderful story teller. So glad to skip the line and have a knowledgeable guide. The climb to the top of the Duomo was worth it for the amazing views of Florence. Would definitely recommend.

Great tour! Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Words and pictures cannot describe what you’ll see as it was truly beautiful. You must climb the Dome while it’s 463 steps the view of Florence was breath taking. We didn’t climb the bell tower but heard the Dome was a better view

Ottavia was a wonderful and knowledgeable guide! We greatly enjoyed the tour. Just be aware to choose the dome tour climb option (it’s not automatically included). I made this mistake but the guide company allowed me to correct it on the tour. We got to see from the top and it was beautiful! Worth the steps!

The guide and her knowledge of Florence was wonderful. Loved climbing the cupola and the views. Elisa took the time to tell us the history and background of many of the sculptures that we saw.

It was mere moments and we could tell that(Forgot her name)was going to be an incredible tour guide. From her friendly and welcoming introduction, the immediate entrance into the Academia (skip the line) and incredible knowledge of each and every piece of amazing artwork, She was perfect! We learned so much about history, history of art, perception, artwork through the 1500’s - present, explanation of why an artist chose a style, types of marble, the incredible statue of David and the unfinished statues in the same room. We then traveled over to the Duomo where we discussed the altar, the incredible architecture and of course the breathtaking frescoes. This tour was beyond what we were expecting and honestly it’s all due to her , a master of art history!

Our guide was warm, friendly and phenomenally knowledgeable. We spent 45 minutes walking atriums the statue of David and were riveted with the information provided. The tour of the cathedral and climb to the Duomo were awesome as well. Note that this tour is really about the David so an appreciation of art or an open mind to learning about art is key to enjoying it.

One of the best tours we ever had!!! Martina, our tour guide was amazing!!! She is extremely knowledgeable and very professional!!! She gave us so much information in interesting and fun way! We were lucky to have her as our guide and even luckier the tour was just for the two of us! To see Michaelangelo's David in person is such a great experience! The Cathedral and Duomo climb were awesome. I strongly recommend this tour and if you get Martina as your guide, you are in for a great treat!!!
