Florence Sigtseeing Tour with Accademia Gallery Visit
Janette_D, Jan 2019
WE missed the start of the tour - a google map would have helped a lot actually - but found the tour at the Accademia. Our guide, Patricia, was excellent!! I'd recommend her any time, and really made the visit to see David so much more meaningful.

Enjoyed seeing the Michelangelo square and the Accademia. However our guide, Helga, of the Accademia had her microphone clipped to her dress. When we got in the Accademia and also even around the Baptistry there were so many people around and so much background noise you couldn't hear anything she was saying. People in our group began just to walk off. I noticed the other guide that had the non-English speaking group was using a headset with his microphone.

Our family of five greatly enjoyed this tour. Our tour guide Debora was a seasoned guide, expert and very well informed. We love the views from the Piazza overlooking the city. The walk through the Academy with all the explanation on Michael Angelo and various other artists was just the right amount of information and it helped us appreciate the great works of art better than if we had toured on our own. I would recommend you do this tour on your first full day in Florence and after lunch go to the church, the Uffizi Gallery or the Ponte Vechio to finish your day.

Our guide was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable she made Michael Angelo come alive. We learned things from her that we could never have known on our own and seeing the David in person brought me to tears. Affordable and WELL WORTH IT!

We had a rather large group and our initial guide, an older gentleman, was okay at best. He was difficult to understand and shared totally irrelevant information. Just before we entered the gallery, our group was divided into two and our new guide did a much better job. I wish I had a chance to catch her name. We first went to Piazzale Michelangelo where we had beautiful views of the city. The bus then took us to the gallery where we waited just a short while for our scheduled entrance time. The gallery, and of course the David were amazing! I highly recommend this tour!
