What To Expect

Your Vespa tour will begin in central Florence, where you’ll meet your guide and head straight to our garage for a brief safety overview and practice ride before hitting the road. Saddle up on your stylish Vespa and follow your guide through tree-lined avenues until you reach the hills in the countryside.

Admire panoramic views of Florence from the Church of San Miniato al Monte before taking a peek inside. The Romanesque church hosts an array of incredible artwork and is one of the city’s lesser-known gems.

Continue into the Tuscan hills, past poppy fields and vineyards, with plenty of opportunities to pause for photos. As you travel back toward Florence, pull over at Piazzale Michelangelo, where views of the Arno River and the iconic Duomo stretch out before you.

Conclude your adventure with a Tuscan meal (menu for lunch is bruschetta, pasta and a cheese and salami board). Sit back, relax and soak up the Italian spirit before heading back to your original departure point.

Can't really complain about this Vespa tour. Driving through the skinny streets above Florence was a thrill, our guide, Stefano, kept the group moving and safe, and the food and wine at the farm was a wonderful time. A couple of things that were unexpected...I thought we would ride vintage vespa's...I think the tour was actually described as "the only Vintage Vespa Tour in Florence" when I booked it, but it looks like they just recently switched to brand new scooters. Based on the length of the tour, I thought we would have more riding time, but as others have said, you lose a lot of time getting transferred to the garage and test rides. We probably lost at least 2 hours. All that being said, my wife and I had a really fun time and it's absolutely one of the highlights of our time in Florence.

We had so much fun, and the views were unbelievable! All of the guides were helpful and considerate. I would highly recommend. Just make sure you have experience riding a scooter, there was a little bit of skill needed.

We had an incredible experience with this Vespa tour company! From start to finish, it was a five-star adventure. First and foremost bring your drivers license if you want yo ride the Vespa. It’s simple read everything about the your. There was a group that did not bring Drl and were giving the guys of the tour a hard time. Gabriel, Santiago and Iacob were amazing guys. Very patient with the test drive and if you were not comfortable or did not pass the test you went on the tour with them in old fiats. Views were breathtaking- took time to stop and take pics. Food was great and hit the spot. I had a great time with Gabriel- by the end I knew his whole life🤣 he liked my comment about the brakes lasting the life of the car

Great experience, friendly and well organized from the pickup to the your itself. The farm to table meal was delicious. It took a while to get started because the operators wanted to make sure that everyone could ride the vespas comfortably and safely. They conducted test rides for everyone who signed up. Those who could not safely ride the vespas or were not comfortable doing it, rode in the old Fiats with the guide. I really like that they were so safety conscious.

Riding a Vespa through Tuscany was amazing, relaxing, and felt great! The tour guides were very helpful in learning how to ride the Vespa (I had no experience) and I was able to ride it smoothly for the most part. Stefano and the team were great!!

My family has been looking forward to the Vespa tour for many months and it was everything we had hoped for. Walkabout and its' employees are wonderful. My group leader was Stephano and he was great. He spoke great English and provided us with so much awesome information at each stop. The meal and wine that was provided was excellent. This is a must if you travel to Florence. The Tuscany region is beautiful and provides such great food and drink.

I recommend this tour with reservations. There is truth in all of the 1-4 star reviews posted. A lot of time is spent “testing” Vespa competency for the group, but not for each individual driver. I would absolutely trust the instructors and their opinion on competency - if they ask you multiple times if you feel comfortable with the Vespa, you should probably just do the fiat ride. There were people nearly crashing into walls during the test who felt “comfortable” but then ended up in a ditch during the real tour on Italian roads, thankfully without injury. Driving a Vespa is not the same as riding a bike or a lime scooter. I highly recommend watching YouTube videos for basic “how to’s” and would almost consider experience riding a Vespa to be a pre-requisite. My husband/driver had some experience on scooters and is proficient on a bike, but was anxious the entire time. It’s hard to focus on driving a new vehicle in a foreign country with cars passing you, while also enjoying the ride and views. Overall this company does a great job with the schedule and making sure everyone is safe. Food was pretty good, guides were great, and views were beautiful.

Gabriel and his team were professional and knowledgeable regarding the use of Vespas and the Tuscany countryside. We enjoyed the ride, the breathtaking landscape, and the dinner at the end of the excursion. Grabriel’s knowledge of the Tuscan history and navigation of the roads made this trip an enjoyable experience. Well done to the team who put this tour together. Beautiful scenery and wonderful lunch. I would recommend this to everyone who would like to get some beautiful views of Florence, see a 1,000 year old church and have the most wonderful lunch overlooking the countryside. Our guides Gabriel and Jakamo (sp?) were very nice and were very diligent in preparing us to ride and to ensure our safety during the trip. Would recommend some experience in riding vespas or motorcycles but they are great teachers.

We loved this tour! Gabriel and Jacob were absolutely amazing at their job! Ended up riding in the fiat500 after not doing so well on the Vespa test, but honestly, it was still so much fun. Jacob was our driver and he made the experience well worth it! The food was some of the best we had! Would recommend to all, or even to search for the fiat 500 tour they provide too! Thanks guys!

I really enjoyed riding the Vespa! This was a great experience for me and my husband! If your are in Florence the driving is a little scary in general but the tour guide did a great job of keeping us together at good speeds and telling us how to navigate. The first part of the tour was pretty long due to training of each person on how to use the Vespa. There were many who didn’t get the hang of it, but if you don’t a guide will escort you on the back of their Vespa or you can double with someone else in your party. All in all i enjoyed this and recommend it
