Walking tour of Florence.

Ana was knowledgable and friendly. She is a great story teller. She summarized the history of Florence so well. The visual of Palace vecchio was superb. If you go, give her a big tip as wages in Italy are not that good. Wonderful overview of the this magical city.

Our guide Armando was friendly, knowledgeable of history and facts about the city of Florence. The tour was not rushed, which I appreciated. I've been to Florence few times before and every time I still learn something new about the city and its history. Also Armando made suggestions regarding some local restaurants and other historical sites to visit which were not part of the tour. Definitely would recommend him and this walking tour.

Obviously, it’s cheap. You leave a tip for the guide. Our guide was way too focused on giving suggestions on how to experience Florence cheaply too. I liked her but my goal was to see Florence competently, not cheaply.

Disappointing as the Protestant Cemetary was closed when we arrived, much to the Guide’s surprise & this for me would have been the highlight of the tour. I have still not been offered any recompense from the Tour Operator.

Great historical information to provide context as to why this city is so special. Our tour guide was informative and even pointed out some great spots for food along the way. I will recommend this tour for anyone coming to Florence for the first time.

Fabio Fabulous Florence tour: great on the first day!

The tour lasts approximately three hours and provides an excellent overview of Florence. We met Fabio at the Piazza Republica, the tour finished at the Piazza San Croce. Fabio was easy to understand and provided interesting information as we walked. We found this to be an excellent start to our stay in Florence in that it got us up and moving to fight the jet lag and we received an orientation as to where things were located, something that came in very handy the next day when during a thunder and lightning storm downpour the GPS on the cellphone stopped working. The tour is “free” but the guide is working for tips. Most people in the group tipped between $30 - $50 euros per couple. We would recommend.

It was a nice tour but the group leader was hard to follow because her small purple umbrella got lost in the crowd. She needs to carry a taller more colorful stick that will stand out to the people who are at the back of the tour.

Claudia was a lovely tour guide very informative. A great way to start our Florence Adventure. We went to a Gelato Shop that had a special one called Buontalenti it truly was best I’ve ever tasted went back for seconds a few hours later. Thank you for a lovely tour .

Not the best

Always worth doing a tour to get oriented. But not the best we’ve done. Guide ok but difficult to hear and understand at times, and group too large. Also VIATOR rip-off too much (£2.50 per head booking fee plus €3 pp commission from the tips, apparently).

We are sorry that you were not completely satisfied with the tour, I would like to inform you that the tour was not organised by viator, viator is only a website where you can book tours, a bit like booking.com for hotels, the 2.99 you paid for the booking through viator is their commission for allowing us to be on their website, then original florence which is the cultural association that organises the tour uses part of the donations from clients (2.50 per person) for the promotion and publicity of the events. Regarding the size of the group, being a tour based on free donations, it is normal that we need large groups to allow the guides to make a profit. If you do not like tours with groups of 20 people, I recommend that next time you take a private guide, but I must inform you that for a 2 hour and 15 minute tour ,they get 120 to 150 euros, or alternatively you can book a tour at a normal price with a tour operator, where the prices range from 25 to 50 euros per person and most likely you would be in a group of 20 people anyway.
