What To Expect

Make your own way to the centrally located office to meet your professional chef-guide before your afternoon or evening tour starts.

Transfer by minibus to a private estate situated in the hills above Florence. Start your culinary experience with a tasting of a traditional focaccia appetizer accompanied by a glass of Chianti wine. Soak in views of the rolling hills as your instructor shares the backstory of Italy's famous foods: pizza and gelato.

Next your chef-instructor shows you how to make pizza dough, and explains regional variations. After preparing the dough, select the topping ingredients that you like from the assortment of fresh vegetables harvested from the estate gardens. Your pizza is then baked traditional-style in the wood oven. When ready, sit down to enjoy your pizza accompanied by wine or beer.

For dessert, learn to make a creamy gelato that can be accompanied by toppings and sauces. Your instructor provides recipes for the pizza and gelato so that you can make them at home.

Your culinary experience ends with a return trip to your starting point in Florence.

Traveler Tips

The entire class is on a beautiful terrace overlooking the Tuscan countryside, so don't forget a camera!
There is a lot of stairs and cobble roads but every step is worth it!
Winter cold is no problem at all, as it is all done indoors (except of course for the wood fire oven).

Best tour we had in Italy
Eugene_C, Mar 2023
Best tour we did in Italy as a family. Lots of humor, great food, learning how to cook, making new friends in an amazing location! Max, Titziano, and Thomas was absolutely the best instructors.
Great evening!

Wonderful experience. The location was beautiful, the staff friendly, entertaining, attentive and knowledgeable. Extremely well organized. Very nice wine and local beer offered and the pizza and gelato were delicious. Highly recommend to anyone looking to do a food making experience.
A trip highlight
Amy_K, Mar 2023
Our pizza and gelato class was a highlight of our Florence trip. Angela, Thomas and Tiziano were delightful hosts and instructors. In addition to being warm and friendly, they also taught us a lot. The short bus ride to an estate was convenient. The view was breathtaking even on a foggy evening. We each made our own pizza (including the dough) and sampled all the gelato flavors made by our group. Our kids declared it to be the best food of our trip. We would definitely book this experience again!
Fun Class for Kids and Adults!
Anonymous, Mar 2023
We spent 8 days in Italy and our kids can't stop talking about this class. You meet your group, walk about 5 minutes to your bus and then take a 15-minute trip out to the beautiful countryside to the Tuscan Farmhouse. Gloria met us and set the scene for the evening and told us what to expect. First, we learn how to make Gelato, then we pick our flavors to start preparing them. Then we move over to meet Thomas and Tiziano to learn about pizza. Everyone makes their own pizza and when finished eating, we go back to the Gelato that just finished up and taste each flavor. My two daughters, 11 and 9 years old, LOVED this class. Gloria, Thomas, and Tiziano made the class so much fun. Kids or no kids, you will love this class. But if you do have kids, stop reading and book now! You will not regret it.

Making pizza and gelato with friends and eating what you cook after and confirmed you can be a good chef
Funny, knowledgeable, and very personable!
Ashley_F, Mar 2023
Pizza & Gelato experience with Tiziano, Thomas, and Max was definitely a 5 star. All the hosts were able to make the experience very enjoyable and they didn't make it seem like a classroom. They all have a great sense of humor and gave off good energy. All were very knowledgable of process as well and gave additional information on why they use the ingredients they do and some also attached a little history information with it as well. Over all the perfect balance of funny, knowledgeable, and very personable. The view of the establishment was amazing as well. I would definitely recommend this to anyone that would love to learn the process of making the best Gelato and pizza.
A Wonderful Experience to Remember

This experience was absolutely fantastic. Thomas, Chris, and Tizziano were funny, kind, and very knowledgeable. The food that we made was absolutely wonderful, the views were beautiful, and they always made sure we had something to drink while they spoke to us. I couldn’t have loved this experience more!!!
Very Enjoyable

Instructive, Fun, and Yummy
Cami_B, Mar 2023
The instructors Gloria, Thomaso and Tiziano gave great instruction and made it a very enjoyable evening. The timing was great—and of course the food was top knotch! Note: uneven ground and many stairs to get to and from the farm.
Excellent! Highly Recommend!

Nicole_N, Feb 2023
This was one of the highlights of our 2 weeks in Italy. It's a great activity to do when visiting Florence as this Tuscan house is only a short drive outside of the city. The property is so nice with gorgeous views of the countryside. The hosts we're super entertaining, helpful, and very knowledgeable about the gelato and pizza making processes. You can tell they definitely enjoy what they do. It was the perfect mother-daughter day out and the pizza was definitely the best we've ever had! A tasty snack and wine included.
An absolute must while you're in Florence!

My daughter & I had such a blast doing this entertaining class. This was definitely the highlight of our visit to Florence. The instructors are hilarious and keep everyone laughing as we prepped and cooked. We had a quick gelato demonstration using liquid nitrogen that had Bill Nye - the Science Guy vibes. From making our "baby" balls of dough to tossing our "baby" in the air, we were able to make really good wood fired pizzas. The gelato making was fun too. We worked in teams and sampled 9 different gelato flavors. This is a class that all skill levels can enjoy. I think it would be a good team building event for businesses. I can't say enough good things about this class. The setting was spectacular as well. We loved it and plan on doing it again in May with the rest of our family.
Perfect day in Tuscany with a 6 year old
