What To Expect

Make your own way to the tour start point in central Florence. Greet your guide and listen to a safety briefing and background facts about your vintage Fiat 500.

Often known by their Cinquecento brand name, these famous 4-seater cars took the motoring world by storm in the 1950s, and the early models are among Italy’s most beloved retro cars. The cars have manual gears, so if you’re the nominated driver, you’ll need to know how to use them.

After getting driving instructions, hop inside your Fiat and drive in convoy behind your guide.

Head into the Tuscan countryside as the sun sets — the time when the region’s rolling landscapes look especially magical.

Cruise the tranquil roads and trace a section of the Mille Miglia, the legendary 20th-century round-trip automobile race between Brescia and Rome.

Wind by vineyards and orchards, and stop to snap photos of the classic Tuscan scenery of farmhouse-topped hills and cypress-lined lanes.

Arrive at a 15th-century Renaissance villa surrounded by picturesque gardens. Hop out of your Fiat and stroll to the outdoor swimming pool and terrace.

Admire the gorgeous setting as you savor an Italian aperitivo pre-dinner drink and snack. Enjoy a spritzer cocktail and delicious Tuscan snacks such as cheese, bruschetta (toasted bread topped with tomato and basil) and cold cuts.

Finish with a glass or two of Chianti and hear how this quintessentially Tuscan wine is produced, bottled and aged. Feel free to partake — the driving part of your tour is over.

Return to Florence by car or bus with an experienced driver at the wheel. Your tour concludes at the original start point.

Once in a Lifetime!

What a great experience!!! Driving our cute little yellow Fiat through the hills near Florence was just so much fun! Alessandro was a perfect guide for us, too! Don’t hesitate - book this right away
The BEST experience for car lovers!
Hannah_W, Feb 2023
This was our favorite experience in Italy! We had so much fun on our vintage Fiat tour. Booking through Viator I would say our only trouble was we were not aware of the 15 Euro gas charge to be paid at time of arrival as well as winter hours. We showed up 15 minutes late but thankfully since we were the only ones on our particular sunset tour our guide had waited. We had experience with vintage cars so driving was not a problem but when it says you should know manual they mean it! We got to hop in our car and follow our guide through the Tuscan countryside. We paused for photos and to take in the scenery and had great conversation. We then showed up to an older residence where we got to try 3 wines and some traditional Tuscan cuisine. Would HIGHLY recommend this experience!

What an amazing experience it was!! If I could rate it higher, I would! From the very begining Mattia was very clear with the instructions on how to drive these beautiful cars and let me chose the option that wanted. Once ready we drove for a LONG time, through the beautiful mountains of Tuscany, while enjoying such a beautiful Fiat 500 for ourselves, following Mattia that stopped us in beautiful places and took great pictures for a day that we will remember. We ended up having a nice snack in a villa and tasting some wine from the region while having a great time with Mattia and his brother. It felt like having a drink with friends. Great people, even greater experience. Would recommend 100% and cannot wait to do it again!
Two thumbs up!

This was so fun! My adult children loved getting behind the wheel of the vintage cars and driving through the picturesque hills of Tuscany. We stopped at lookout points and went back to a beautiful hotel for drinks and snacks, poolside! Lovely and worthwhile. Broke up the waking all over Florence and immersed us into the countryside! Our guide was patient and gave us directions on driving these classic cars!

This is such a fun way to see the countryside if you only have limited time in Florence. Nico is the most patient human being in the world, and he does a great job teaching you the intricacies of the double-clutch system. I really loved seeing how beautiful golden hour was as we cruised through the hills surrounding Florence. We stopped several times to check out the views and take pictures. Nico got some great pictures of us together! The tour ended with us watching the sunset while drinking delicious wine and snacking on tasty prosciutto. You will even be back in time for dinner. Note: Make sure you are competent at driving a standard transmission because a vintage Fiat 500 has a double-clutch system.

We are very disappointed for two major reasons : The tour was supposed to end in an ancient Renaissance villa with a gorgeous garden But the wine and appetizers were served at a drive by Shop at the main road - no Running tap water In the WC room available . The tour was supposed to be relaxing also for the driver as a transfer back to the original place was Promised by Viators Website - but it was not provided not even on request . The guides were nice and the car ride was ok. But we feel seriously betrayed by the organization of Viator. The local guides had no idea of the promised things I b the website.

I've driven just about every classic manual vehicle that I can bribe, beg or to get into the seat, but this little guy was way too much fun zipping around some of the most beautiful scenery imaginable! Already good at double clutch skills since I restored a 66 Series IIA Land Rover with just about the same whopping horsepower 80...so I could sneak a few more peeks out the window instead of concentrating on not stalling the car or trashing the gearbox. Mattia was my guide and newest best friend...no kidding! We had some unavoidable program changes, but he improvised like a true professional and I think we created a new tour that deserves more than 5 stars : Thanks, Mattia!!! Do this tour just for the sake of putting a huge smile on your face and the accomplishment of doing maybe something out of your comfort zone that will remain etched in your memory forever. The photos speak for themselves.

A great experience! It was a highlight of our vacation. Taking the bus from the train station was very simple. Nico was extremely welcoming, friendly, and engaging. His explanation on how to drive the Fiat was easy to follow. Once we got onto the road, we were able to follow his directions and enjoy the car and the scenery. AMAZING olive groves, vines, cute towns and views. His knowledge about the area and farming was evident. He takes great pride in his part of the world. There was ample driving time and beautiful views. The garden and pool at the villa is a magical setting for aperitivo consisting of locals cheeses, salami and bruschetta, Nico treated us to his own home made prosciutto which he aged for 24 months, bread and Tuscany olive oil. We tasted a 2015 Sangiovese and a 2014 Super Tuscan wine. All of the foods and drink were explained to us by Nico. At the end of the evening, Nico presented us with a bottle of prosecco! We drove the Fiats back to the entrance of the estate in time for us to catch the last bus back to Florence. Nico insisted on walking us to the stop, treated us to a beer at the bar across the street from the bus stop and waiting until we were on the bus safely. Again, this was an amazing way to see the countryside. Visit Nico and you'll see for yourself.

We had a truly magical tour on 14 April. The weather was perfect for a drive in the Tuscan countryside. The guide was excellent at showing us how to use the car and explaining everything we could want to know about the wine, cheese and bread that we ate at the end. I had also picked this tour as the perfect moment to propose to my girlfriend and, even with wanting everything to be perfect for that, this tour exceeded my expectations. Highly recommended!

This was one of the highlights of a two week trip all around Italy. The cars were really cool, great experience driving around the beautiful countryside where the guide allowed us to stop to take photos of the incredible views in Chianti, and then it ended with some incredible wine. book it!

this was by far my favorite tour that i did in my 3.5 week tour all over europe. Nicco was my tour guide and he made sure i did the safety course and knew exactly how to drive those vintage toys. just because you know how to drive stick shift doesnt mean youll be able to drive these bad boys. these guys need that extra love and care while driving. driving 60-70 km all through tuscany wineries and small towns was amazing. we stopped in this small town to try authentic italian food. and let me tell you it was not your pasta nor your cheese platter. he made sure i didnt leave without having ribollita alla fiorentina and peposo all'imprunetana. also got to try several wines. Nicco made it as fun as possible and all he cares about is to make sure that YOU are having the time of your life and nothing else. nicco thank you for your time and i cant wait to go back with more friends and drive all of those amazing vintage 500 fiats all over town.

BEST TOUR EVER!!! This was literally the best experience we had in Italy, period. We went on the sunset drive and pretty much got a private tour with two great guides leading us through the countryside! My husband was the driver and had a blast driving the car, I had a blast enjoying the gorgeousness that surrounded us taking pictures and video to not forget this experience. We went to the cutest restaurant with spectacular views and enjoyed laughing and talking with the amazing people who run the tour and the restaurant. We had appetizers, more like dinner, there was so much food and wine it was AMAZING. Thank you the family of restaurant owners and especially for the tour guides/owners for giving us memories that will last a lifetime! Will definitely do this tour again next time we are in Tuscany... we will be back someday!!!

An absolute blast! Our tour guide was sweet and funny and very helpful. Brush up on your double clutching skills before you leave home. But even if double clutching isn't something you have done before, they will patiently teach you. The view was amazing! The time spent at the end enjoying the sunset at the Villa sipping on Spritz and wine was dreamy. It was the family favorite activity on our two week tour of Europe. Highly recommend.
