What To Expect

The Fiat 500 swiftly became Italy’s favorite little car when it was first introduced near the end of the 1950s. Its retro-chic look has made early models the most desired vintage cars today in Italy, and you’ll have the chance to hit the road with one yourself.

Make your way to a private garage in Florence, where you’ll find your restored 1960s Fiat 500. Your guide will give you a safety overview and the opportunity to practice with the manual gears. The selected driver for each group must feel confident behind the wheel before you set out.

Then, you’re off! Travel with your convoy into the Tuscan hills as your guide leads the way. Hear insightful commentary about the history of the wine region as you drive along the secluded country roads.

After a scenic drive through the Chianti region, you’ll pull into the villa and wine estate, dating back to the 15th century. See the Itinerary section for details on the two activities to choose from before making the journey back to Florence.

Chianti Road (Pass By)

Learn about the region’s prestigious Super Tuscan wines on a 1.5-hour tour of the wine estate. With your knowledgeable guide, explore the vineyards and cellars, and then taste several local wines. During the tour, sit down in the wine cellar to enjoy a light lunch of crostini, meats and cheeses. You’ll have time to spend at leisure in the grounds after your wine-tasting tour ends, simply relax and sun yourself in the grounds!

This is the best excursion we have ever been on and it was our most fun day in Florence! David the owner of the company was fantastic and our tour guide was so knowledgeable about the region and gave a good demo about the vintage cars and how they work! The wine tasting and snacks were such a fun time getting to know the other people traveling in the group! Overall great experience we loved it!

Had a great time time touring through the Tuscan countryside. The cars were very fun to drive and the guides were lovely and knowledgeable! It is easy to do with a US drivers license as long as you have experience with stick shift. You can get to the meeting point from the Florence train station via tram and a short walk.

Our guide, Alessandro, was amazing. We got to know him during the wine tasting. I held my own while driving the car over the narrow, winding roads and breathtaking Tuscan countryside. The cars have not been overhauled. They emit the aroma of exhaust, one must stand on the brake to stop the car, and they need to be driven mostly in second and third gear. The cars are over 50 years old, after all. This was an exhilarating experience and lots of fun.

The Fiat 500 tour was lots of fun! A little cool in November. A blanket would have been nice. Our tour guide, Alessandro was great! Informative and made sure we all stayed close even when driving through areas where there were other vehicles. We’d highly recommend. 8th time in Florence, 1st time Fiat 500.

It was a wonderful experience. I love old school cars so driving a 1970 FIAT was one of the highlights of my whole trip. And add driving it through Chianti, Tuscany made everything that much better. The wine tour/tasting and food was delicious as expected. The tour guide (Alessandro) was amazing so kind, helpful and knowledgeable. He made us feel very comfortable and safe. If there is one tour you want to do while you are an Italy, this should be your only pick.

This tour was a dream and definitely the highlight of my trip! Being able to drive a vintage Fiat is such a unique experience compared to all of the Vespa tours out there. The cars are adorable and have retractable roofs so you can cruise with the sun shining down on you. The food and wine at the end of the tour was a lovely way to end the day. This is the best way to see Tuscany!

The vintage fiats are wonderful. They come with all the features of vintage cars and make for a very fun trip. You'll cruise the beautiful countryside. The hosts (Bella) makes the trip a delight. It was so much fun getting to know all the other participants. A very nice Italian Lunch (pasta, cheeses, breads) and hood wine were served in a Tuscany setting. You will not be disappointed. A real blast. Cars are not difficult to drive. Basically 3 gears. A real highlight.
