Traveler Tips

The gallery is not airconditioned so take a fan or something to keep cool on a hot day.
Worth the time and cost of a well guided tour.
It is worth it to get an appreciation of attractions that you would otherwise walk past and not understand the history.

Wonderful Walking Tour of Florence
Kevin_F, Mar 2023
We really enjoyed this walking tour of Florence!! Our tourguide Annette met us at the Uffizi Museum and gave us ear pieces and radios so we could hear her well on the tour. The tour left on time and Annette told us the history of Florence and the story of the Medici family. She was very knowledgeable and pointed out historical buildings, art, architecture, churches, markets and monuments as we walked through the streets of Florence on the way to the Academia to see the David by Michelangelo. I was impressed with the amount of sites we were able to see on the tour and happy that she took the time to answer all our questions because we were a very large group. I do think it would be better to limit this tour to 10 or 15 people because at times when we were walking on the large crowded streets it was hard to keep up. But overall it was a great tour and I appreciated how Annette got us to the Uffizi just at the right time for our group to enter. She provided a wonderful overview of the David as well and stayed to answer all our questions at the end. I felt that we had a great orientation to Florence and I would highly recommend this tour to others who are going to Florence for the first time!!

We had a great time with Matt and honestly one of the best tour guide we had during this trip. We had been on so many day trips and this is one of the most enjoyable tour we had with a guide.

Annette was fantastic. She knew so much and kept the tour involved the whole time. Very kind, I would take Annette as a guide any chance I got, very good. We completed the tour and our 16 yr old son said he was very glad we did that tour, he said it made the city “come together” for him!

Claudia Durante was a wonderful guide and told us so much about Florence! I would highly recommend doing this tour at the start of your visit to Florence because Claudia gives excellent recommendations on which places to visit and the best places to eat.
1 hour Late Start
Jozelle_L, Feb 2023
Guide was almost 1 hour late to the meeting point! There was a transit strike, however that was an announced strike so it seems like that could have been avoided and a contingency plan could have been used. It’s not the 1st transit strike in Italy. What’s worse is that the tour company did not even let us know until 45 min into being delayed that there was a delay. No apologies from the company whatsoever. Once the tour started it was fine and the guide was good but as travelers with itineraries, it was very frustrating and made worse by not being informed of updates. It’s all about managing expectations for your customers - if you told me there is that 1 hour delay from the beginning then we could have done many other things in that hour instead of just standing around wondering. Thought that was very unprofessional.

Paulina was our tour guide, and she was great. Very informative, patient, she spoke clear, and she was always cheerful. We could see the passion she has for all that she was telling us, and that made it even more enjoyable to learn. She took us to every place we needed to get a great understanding of David, Michael Angelo and other historic figures of art. I recommend her 10000% !

The guide was very knowledgeable and interesting. We had a small group of only 4 people so it was very personal. She took it at a good pace and brought many interesting facts to our attention. We were unable to finish the tour due to time constraints but felt the tour was worth our time.

Max was fun, he was very organized and showed us varied sites, with insight, as we walked from the Ufizzi to the David. Definitely recommend.
Exceptional introduction to Florence.
Susan_S, Oct 2022
It is our first time in Florence and we could not have been introduced to the city, it’s history, the landmarks by a more interesting and knowledgeable guide. We were entirely engaged for two hours and the learning we acquired was invaluable in acquainting us with Florence.
