Gallerie Degli Uffizi

One of the world’s oldest art museums, the Uffizi was built by architect Giorgio Vasari in the 16th century to house government offices. It was only later that the building was used to showcase art collected by Florence’s ruling Medici family, and not until 1769 that it was turned into a public museum. The repository of more 1,500 works dating from Greek times to the 18th century, the core of the Uffizi is its unmissable collection of Renaissance art. Your tour concentrates on these, as your guide leads you around the highlights of the Renaissance rooms, home to great works by Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and others. Enter the spectacular Botticelli Room and wonder at his The Birth of Venus and Primavera as your guide explains their composition and meaning, and the nature of Botticelli’s genius. Then, continue to see masterpieces such as da Vinci’s breathtaking Annunciation, Michelangelo’s Doni Tondo and works by Rafael.

Uffizi in an Afternoon
MaryAnn_D, Mar 2023
Angelo was a great tour guide. The museum was packed with teens on school trips and holiday but Angelo kept us moving and provided a great history of the museum and the art from the Middle Ages up to the Renaissance.
Great experience

Nice highlighted version for non-art enthusiasts. If you are really into art this is not the tour for you.
Paulina is an amazing guide
Geraldine_W, Nov 2022
Paulina was absolutely superb. Her enthusiasm was infectious and she was so knowledgeable about the paintings at the uffizi and Florence’s history. I am so pleased I booked this tour- I got so much out of our time with Paulina - thank you!

Great tou with Annette
Katherine_T, Nov 2022
Annette was a great tour guide! We have used Viator a few times during our two week trip to Europe, and the small group guided tour with Annette has been the best so far. This tour has been the highlight of our time in Florence!

This is not the first time I visit the museum but I enjoyed much more this time with the guide with knowledge.
Magnificent experience
Elena_C, Nov 2022
Filipo was a great tour guide offering fantastic details about the artworks. Although November is a low season month, Florence & specifically the Uffizi was really packed. For this reason I wouldn’t recommend a tour with kids. It’s exhausting for them. Yet, for adults, it a magnificent experience. We booked several tours with City Wonders and they were exactly as they described.

Eduardo_T, Nov 2022
Fantastic tour! Great guide. Very thorough and passionate. We appreciated greatly the stories of Florence and details of the top artists.
Great guide
Kelly_G, Nov 2022
Our guide was clearly very knowledgeable and passionate about the art which made this an even more enjoyable experience.
Great intro to Uffizi!
Sharon_L, Nov 2022
This was a very fast tour- 1 1/2 hours and then you could stay and explore at your own pace. My husband does not love to spend all day in museums so this tour was perfect for both of us- the tour guide Stefan was so knowledgeable. He shared inside information on select pieces around the museum including the juicy gossip and stories behind the art that makes it interesting. The lines for entry we’re really long so being able to skip them through this group was worth the cost! We then stayed and explored after the tour and saw everything. It was awesome.
Excellent Tour Guide
Vanessa_C, Oct 2022
Our guide Giovanna was friendly, engaging and very knowledgeable. She shared a brief history of Italy and Florence, and she did a fantastic job explaining the artwork. Always made sure our small group stayed together and answered questions. Thank you Giovanna. Skip the line was also great!
The only way to see Uffizi and skip the lines!

Alina_H, Oct 2022
The time chosen for the tour was not good. The museum was too crowded. Full of people and tours. A better time should be recommended.
Skip the line? Not really.
David_F, Oct 2022
Skip the line is a falsehood. We stood in line and waited. Maybe 45 minutes. Our guide was good but the gallery was so crowded I could see very little of the paintings unless I pushed my way to the front.
Response from Host, Nov 2022
Hello David_F, Our sincere apologies that you were still made to wait despite our Skip-the-Line access. There is no excuse for this. Unfortunately, on days in which there are large crowds at Uffizi, it makes it very hard for our coordinators to acquire the tickets required. Apologies for that inconvenience. We would like to thank you for taking the time to leave us a review as we will only use it to improve the quality of our services. Kind regards, Edgar J. & the CW Team
The Uffizi Gallery is amazing, narrative was very insightful
Randi_B, Oct 2022
We really enjoyed our tour of the Uffizi. It would have been 5 stars, but someone arrived late and our time entry was delayed and we had to wait for the next time in a long line which was not the "skip the line" experience I was hoping for. The tour itself was insightful and very interesting. I would not have known anything about the paintings without it. Really liked the enthusiasm of our guide!
Very much recommended
Jeroen_B, Oct 2022
We had a very knowledgable tour guide (Annet), who managed to point out details that truly made you understand the paintings on another level. The 1,5+ hours was also the perfect length (there was no rushing through, we felt we had all the time we needed, but it didn’t go on for too long draining all energy. Which is especially nice if you have other activities planned). We very much recommend it!
