Duomo, Duomo Museum and Baptistry Guided Tour

The tour was great! The baptistry ceiling was being restored, so we couldn’t actually see it at all, but the guide told us all about the baptistry and then walked us through the Duomo Museum, explaining key pieces. Then the guide walked us through the basilica, explaining various aspects of it. She left us in the basilica after the tour was over to allow us time to explore some more inside.

The guide was OUTSTANDING Super knowledgeable fun great personality. The description of tour was a little misleading however .. described the tower climb as at your Leisure but was in fact a timed entrance , almost a full hour after the tour ended … and on a 95 degree day people waiting around in the heat … and was not really a skip the line ticket either. When I went to the entrance I was told to go get on the back of the very long line .. EVERYONE ON THE LINE had a 6 pm admittance So calling it skip the line was not true … should have perhaps been offered a choice/ refund option about climb any way as it was about 95 degrees out and that made it a risky / dangerous climb for some of us. I personally turned around and left a few minutes in. That part waste of money and time for me But again guided part GREAT

Seeing the magnificent artwork of all the old master artist from Italy. We had a terrific guide, Danielle, who was the best guide we could have had. She explained everything with such enthusiasm and knowledge that it brought all the artwork to life. She enabled us to see the artist as people and not just something you read in a book.

Wow! Mauricio showed us everything! He was so knowledgeable and really seemed to enjoy sharing that knowledge with us. I always recommend a skip the line tour to avoid the long lines and to get the best information. This tour was Fantastic

Our tour guide was excellent. Loved her enthusiasm and knowledge. While it was nice to see the Baptistery the construction inside largely limits what you can see. Cathedral is was great to experience. Will also be amazed by its beautiful floor. Duomo museum informative tour as well. We had climbed the bell tower during a prior Florence visit. View is amazing.

Save your money. The baptistery is under construction so the ceiling is not visible. For some reason you can't visit the Duomo Museum, which is why we booked the tour, until the following day...when we were leaving. Its a waste of money and a little on the dishonest side by not disclosing the details about visiting the museum.

Hi Joseph, I doubt that you have been on a tour with our company. Please doublecheck and assign your totally negative review to those who made your experience this bad, thank you! My company has NEVER, and I repeat NEVER, organised this tour on the first Tuesday of the month - only day in which the museum (Museo dell'Opera del Duomo) is closed for maintenance. Maybe you refer to the visit of the crypt of the Cathedral? (aka Museo di Santa Reparata, which - as per tour description, which must be read carefully at all times - is not mentioned as part of the tour, but a plus you can do with the combined ticket we provide our customers with). As to the Baptistery, it is not under construction currently, but they are restauring the mosaics on the ceiling... the architectural elements have been all cleaned in the last years and shine splendidly. A clear note in the description of the tour you may have booked states what the situation of the Baptistery is. Please double-check, thank you! And let us know more precisely what you meant by Duomo Museum. PS. Our groups entered the Cathedral skipping the line and had access to roped off areas where the visit could take place in a quieter environment, no mention of this extra treat... So, really, do double-check. All the best and better luck with your next tours. Fabulous Comprehensive Tour!

I had the privilege of having a wonderful tour for the second time with my favorite guide, Camilla. She brings the history of the Baptistery, Cathedral, Giotto's bell tower and the museum alive. She explains the architecture, history and art combined with the politics of the respective eras. I took a tour of Palazzo Pitti & Boboli gardens with her 2 days ago, and experienced the same fantastic journey back in time. I highly recommend this tour company ( Florence Pass) and this guide!
