I do not recommend it for kids under age 12, unless they show an interest in art or architecture that is beyond their years.

Being a smaller group also gets you into the Uffizi, Accademia, and Duomo faster.

I would recommend this tour for everyone but particularly to those who really want to refresh their knowledge about history, architecture, sculpture and painting in Italy.

We had Angelo as our tour guide and he was excellent. We met In a local piazza and the tour company had the list of names and earphones/radio for each of us. We set out on a walk to the Accademia. The main focus here was David and Michelangelo along with his unfinished works. We had about 10 minutes free time at the end to scoot around on our own and see the other items in the museum. It is fairly small so this allowed us time to see everything but we did not have any context from the guide for this portion. After this we headed to piazza signoria where Angelo shared a bit more about the history of various buildings and we broke for lunch. (He gave us some recommendations). We met back up and visited the uffizi gallery which was amazing. The tour focused mainly on the Italian renaissance art but we did talk about the Medici family and nearby Ponte Vecchio (viewed from a window in the gallery) and this gave us good context. The tour ends in the gallery and we were welcome to visit the other floors but by that time we were ready to head out. Angelo was great at answering our questions. Our group was 9 people and I think this was a good size to keep things manageable when navigating the busy galleries.

Our guide was amazing. He knew a lot about art and brought everything to life. It was long but we did have a break for lunch with some good recommendations.
