This Cinque Terre and Pisa tour was amazing! This tour was through "I Just Drive", Khaled Balti was our driver and he was amazing. Viator and I Just Drive do an amazing job communicating before/after of what to expect and directions. The pickup spot was close by our hotel, maybe 5 minute walk, and Khaled was prompt. We all loaded up in the Private Mercedes van and were shuttled off towards Cinque Terre. Along the way Khaled shared more information about Cinque Terre, Pisa, tips around Florence and Italy, and was a great driver (felt very safe). Khaled offered multiple times to give us bathroom breaks, stopped at very scenic spots to take in, and then took us to our first stop at Cinque Terre. The first stop was Riomaggiore, from there we took the train to the furthest town (#5) in the Cinque Terre, Monterosso, at each location Khaled told us the highlights and pointed us to points of interest. Monterosso has an amazing lookout path (very walkable, with a statue of San Francesco d'Assisi), and at the opposite end was a giant statue along the beach of Neptune. We then loaded back up in the train to the last stop, #4, Vernazza where Khaled called in ahead and booked us a lunch reservation right along the beach. From there, we loaded up into the train back to stop #1 and loaded back into the van to head towards Pisa. Khaled and the I Just Drive team are pros, and brought us in a back area where we could walk right into Pisa and not have to deal with crowds which was great. We had 30 minutes at Pisa which surprisingly felt like enough, got the fun pictures pushing against the tower and explored the grounds. If you wanted to have more time exploring the Cathedral or Baptistry, you'll want to consider asking ahead or getting tickets ahead of time to save yourself as much time as you want. Another couple in the tour had tickets to climb Pisa and had plenty of time to do it. From there, we shuttled on back to Florence and arrived at almost the exact estimated time provided.
When you first take off, the 12 hour day feels like it'll be a LONG 12 hours. But as soon as we arrived in Cinque Terre, the day started to fly by. We had so much fun and will forever remember how amazing those towns were.
Things to note, each town has little shopping / bars / restaurants / public or paid bathrooms / pharmacies.
If you even get the slightest car sickness, bring some dramamine or sit up front. The road to Cinque Terre starts to get very windy and there can be lots of fast/tight turns or quick stops. Someone in our group get car sick on the way, rough way to start a long 12 hour tour but they were a trooper and was good to go after the first down.
