Traveler Tips

This is a far more affordable tour than so many others available in this region.
Although if you want to learn about the wine making process, this is not the most recommended tour.
The bus ride is only about a half hour to the first winery.

Italy on a Budget Chianti Wine tasting and San Gimignano Visit
Lauren_P, Mar 2023
Julia from Italy on a Budget provided such a great tour for us to two different vineyards in the Chianti region- educational, fun and involving! Mira and Alex, the two people from each vineyard that actually walked and talked us through the wine tastings were wonderful, helpful and so kind as well. The recommendations made for our quick but relaxing and fun stop in the city of San Gimignano were excellent- tasty gelato and a cute and delicious wine bar! Would definitely recommend this tour to others!
Book it!!!!

This was such a fun tour. Dom was our tour guide and he was fantastic. The wineries they take you to are amazing and the views are to die for. Dom also stopped off for some beautiful pictures of the countryside. I would 100% book this tour again!
Easy perfect great !
Maria_J, Mar 2023
Really easy, more than enough wine, loved the combo of the larger and smaller vineyard. Dom was an excellent guide and the timing (around 7 hours) was perfect. Highly recommend, we were a group of five 25-35 year olds!
Unforgettable experience
Jemma_K, Mar 2023
We both had an amazing time on your wine tasting tour with Dom. Tuscany is known for its excellent wines, and the wineries we visited did not disappoint. The first winery provided a great selection of wine to try, and pairing it with cheese, meat, and bread was a wonderful complement to the tasting experience. The second winery offered a more intimate and personal touch, with a family feel and stunning views of the Tuscan landscape. It was really helpful to understand the process of how the wine is produced, from the vine to the bottle. It was such a unique and memorable experience, and Dom’s company was fantastic in guiding us to these special places, including San Gimignano while he provided expert knowledge of the area. We highly recommend this tour.

Niamh_E, Mar 2023
We had an amazing experience on this wine tour. Our guide was Dom and he explained the area and helped us feel relaxed as we went to our two wineries. I would highly recommend asking for Dom as your guide to make your day even more special. The wineries were very informative and good fun. San Gimignano was beautiful and I cannot recommend enough to visit there.
Response from Host, Mar 2023

Loved Tenuta Torciano
Alexis_D, Feb 2023
Wonderful experience! Our guides were very friendly and the scenery was absolutely gorgeous. We stopped at Tenuta Torciano and Fattoria Abbazia Monte Oliveto. I liked Tenuta Torciano a bit more, I felt that it was more of a true wine tasting experience and the servings were much better there, but overall both had great wine!
Wonderful for solo travelers!
Adrianna_G, Nov 2022
This was a lovely wine tour. I enjoyed the small group and met several wonderful people. This was my first experience with solo travel, and this tour allowed me to explore Tuscany with a small group of like-minded travelers. The meeting point is fairly confusing, though.
Private Wine Tour

This tour was the highlight of our time in Florence. Julia was really great and she brought us to some great wineries. While driving, she provided a bunch of helpful information about Tuscany and the wine country. Highly recommend this tour.
Fun, people of all ages!
Brittany_B, Oct 2022
The tour guide was very informative and it was a very fun, pleasant time. The first winery was smaller and family owned so highly recommending buying wine at the first stop!! Second one was giant and almost industrial, felt commercialized
Wonderful time.
Farokh_G, Oct 2022
Great tour guide and fun time with everyone, not to mention the quality of the vine on our first visit 👍👍👍.
Amazing
Joyce_R, Oct 2022
Everything was beautiful and our guide, Jean Francois, was spectacular. The Chianti region is beautiful and amazing wines.
Wonderful Wine and Views
Deanna_M, Oct 2022
We had a wonderful time on this tour. Our guide - Vincenzo - was so knowledgeable and engaging and really made the day memorable. Both wineries had wonderful wines with incredible atmosphere and the views were incredible.
Guide and first winery was incredible
Jamie_S, Oct 2022
Jean François was an excellent guide who gave us an overview of Florence/Tuscany on the ride to the wineries. He was very passionate about Tuscany and Italy and very knowledgeable about the history. He was also very funny, a huge plus in a tour guide. We visited two wineries before spending about an hour and a half in San Gimignano. The first winery, Tenuta Torciano, was excellent. Our host, Lilo, was engaging and humorous and the wine, olive oil and balsamic vinegar was amazing. We were able to try 5-6 wines along with some meats, cheese and bruschetta. The second winery boasted breathtaking views, though that was about the only memorable thing. The host was less than enthused to have a group tour and was hard to hear, not engaging and overall we did not really feel welcomed. Wine was fine, but did not have a good enough experience to warrant ordering any for home. Our trip concluded in San Gimignano where Jean François was able to make recommendations depending on the type of activity you liked - more wine, touring the belltower and getting gelato. Overall a wonderful tour, minus the hostess at the second winery.
A fantastic experience and trip.

We had an amazing time! We were on our honeymoon and this was the perfect experience. The tour guide was fantastic and very knowledgeable. The vineyards were gorgeous and the wine was even better. I fully recommend this trip.
Great Tour of a Beautiful Area
Justin_S, Sep 2022
This was an amazing tour that included some spectacular views of Tuscany. We very much enjoyed both vineyards and the free time in San Gimignano. Jean Francois was a great tour guide and was very fun and knowledgeable about the area.
Great Wine Tour
Theresa_O, Sep 2022
We had a fabulous day! We absolutely loved the first winery at Tenuta Torciano. Leo was amazing, he made our tour every entertaining. The second winery was okay, but maybe because the lady trying conduct the tour, present and serve so many people all by herself. It was a fun day and highly recommend this tour. We really enjoyed ourselves. Our tour guide was very nice. Customer service was fantastic.
Wine not when in Florence
Marilyn_E, Sep 2022
Highly recommend booking! It was an amazing experience and met incredible people on my tour. The air-conditioned bus, the great commentary on the way to the wineries and the wineries themselves! Don't worry about hauling wine back to the states, the wineries provide door-to-door delivery!
Ideal for wine tasting beginners and a group of friends.
JohnieChunHei_T, Sep 2022
Our guide Jean-Francois was very good. He was super friendly and knowledgeable. We had a big group with almost 30-40ppl in a big bus. The bus was well-air conditioned and comfortable. The wine tasting food and wine were not great. We went to two wineries. The first one was ok, we learned some basic techniques on wine tasting, the host was entertaining and funny. But the wine mark-ups were very high. Mediocre wines for 40-80 euro per bottle and they tell you it's already with a discount. But they didn't push us to buy anything. The second vineyard had a stunning view, but after a 5-10min quick wine-making process explanation, we were just left in a dining area with few glasses of wine tasting without any explanation of the wines. Last stop at San Gimignano. It was a cute little town with mainly tourist stores. We had only 1 hr there to visit. Walked a bit, had a coffee and already had to leave, felt a bit rushed. Since it's a big bus with younger crowd, it is better for group of friends rather than for couples and singles. It's not a relaxing kind of wine tasting.

The first vineyard was great, the wines were explained in comfortable surrounding. The second vineyard was very busy with no explanation of the wines that we were tasting but we did get an explanation of the wine making process, our guide was very helpful.
