What To Expect

Board your coach in Florence, and travel into the hills of Tuscany where the city of Siena awaits. Opt to take a guided tour of the city with a visit to Siena Cathedral to admire its renowned Gothic architecture. Or, make the most of some free time to set your own pace, and perhaps enjoy a coffee in the sun alongside the locals.

From Siena, return to the Tuscan countryside to explore the Chianti wine region. Stretch your legs with a stroll through a vineyard, olive grove and wine cellar, and refuel with a Tuscan winery lunch. As you sit surrounded by the grape vines, meet other visitors to the area and indulge in local treats such as cold cuts of meat, salad, pasta and fresh bread. Even better, a wine tasting takes place at the same time (not included in the tour option without lunch, guests will instead spend more time in San Gimignano)'

After lunch, journey onward to San Gimignano with its medieval towers, cobbled streets and squares. Explore the town’s historic center, cool down with a refreshing gelato and wander amid the 14 towers as you learn about their history.

Travel from San Gimignano to Pisa: your final stop of the day. Follow your guide to Cathedral Square to discover Pisa Duomo, Pisa Baptistry, the monumental cemetery (aka Camposanto) and, of course, the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

Return to Florence in the early evening, and finish your Tuscany tour with a drop-off at the start point.

After meeting your expert guide, an air-conditioned coach will whisk you away to the first stop of the day, Siena. The drive to Siena will take about 1 hours 15 minutes. During the journey, your guide will explain the itinerary for the day and entertain you with interesting facts about Siena and Tuscany!!!

Fantastic day in Tuscany.
Bob_M, Nov 2022
A great way to see the best parts of Tuscany as well as the incredible countryside. I would highly recommend this as a day trip from Florence.
WONDERFUL! A Must-do!!
Aimee_S, Nov 2022
FANTASTIC!! What a wonderful way to see three cities from Florence! It was well run, so informative, and the guide was incredible. This was also the best value for the money of any tour I've done. In addition to the bus ride to see the 3 towns over the 12 hours (8:00 am - 8:30 PM), they also take you to a winery for lunch. This lunch was spectacular! It was three courses (bread and pasta, meat and cheese, and then dessert) and it was delicious! Plus... you get 4 different wines to try and they are very generous with the wine just placing the bottles on the table. It's a lovely farm to walk around and everyone is so nice. It was a long day but worth it all and we are so happy we did this tour so we could see so much of Tuscany.
Overall decent tour with a few disappointments
Roger_L, Oct 2022
Overall good tour with the local florence tour company WalkAbout, the tour guide and the bus driver Manarola and Gaspar were fantastic. Bus routes taken through Tuscany were breathtaking. Only two issues with the tour. 1. The lunch was 30 euro per person, but honestly it wasn’t all that good. First of all another tour group had reserved all the terrace/outside seating, so we had to sit inside. Who sits inside in Italy, lest of all in the middle of Tsucany?! Second was the food, all we had was some penne pasta with al ragu, which tasted average, cheese and antipasto salami/ham, and simple salad. I was left hungry the whole day. The sample wine was rather cheap and average too, but given the price i don’t expect expensive wine anyway. Just that food quality was too mediocre and not enough in volume. I could’ve gotten better and more filling food for 30 euros for sure. People who didn’t participate in the group lunch were dropped off at San Gimignano and they were the smarter of the bunch in my opinion. 2. The schedule was a bit too chaotic/tight. The last stop of the day was Pisa, yet halfway through the hour allotted for Pisa, sun went down and it was already dark outside. Not only that but some of the attractions have closed thus rendering the stop somewhat moot other than taking pics from outside.
great way of exploring Tuscany

it was a great and convenient way of exploring Tuscany. we were staying in florence for 3 days, this day trip gave us a chance to see Siena, experienced a classic Chianti winery then to San Gimignano and Pisa. our guide,Alessandro was awesome.
Fabulous experience

Absolute way to go to see Tuscany in a day! They take you to all the important places, give you a history lesson, and free time to explore. Comfortable bus. Bring good walking shoes. Highly recommend if you have a short time in Florence.
Great Tour ofTuscany!
Emmanuel_S, Sep 2022
Booked the tour for my wife and I. Meeting place was easy to find by the Florence train station. Emiliano was our driver and Olivia was our tour guide. Olivia was a great tour guide and made sure to take care of everyone. Emiliano was the real MVP for getting us to all locations quickly and safely. Siena and the Chapel was beautiful, the wine/lunch was (*chef’s kiss) delish, San Gimignano was amazing, and Pisa was breathtaking. Highly recommend the tour if you want to see Tuscany in one day.
Amazing tour - not to be missed!
Jelena_G, Sep 2022
If you’re in Florence and want to see and explore Tuscany this is the perfect tour for you! We had an amazing time on this tour - our tour leader Elizabetta was AMAZING! She really made the tour so much more fun and exciting! She took care of us and made sure to explain what we are doing and where we need to be in detail. The whole tour was organised really well and we had a blast! This was definitely a highlight of our trip to Florence!
Would go again
Kami_R, Sep 2022
This was the best tour we experienced while in Italy. Pickup at the train station was very straightforward and easy to find. The tour had us visit Siena, San Gimignano, and Pisa. My favorite was getting to hear the history of Siena and the annual horse races they hold every year in the square. Elisabetta, our tour guide, was hilarious and knowledgable. She even spent the time at the end of the tour to give personal recommendations for where to eat and what to see in Florence.
A long day but absolutely worth it!
JENELLE_S, Aug 2022
What a way to see Tuscany!!! This was a wonderfully organized trip to see the iconic towns of Tuscany and check a few big things off your bucket list. However, please note. This is a FULL DAY TOUR. We met at 8am and returned back to our meeting point in Florence around 8:30pm. Lunch is included, and it was wonderful. But be prepared for a full day adventure, as the Viator listing lists this as a half day!! That being said, all of the time spent in each city is enough time to visit shops, and see the main sights. A moderate amount of walking is required, so wear good shoes! Overall, we are thankful for this journey. Our favorite part was the community style dining at the private vineyard. It was a wonderful way to meet other travelers and enjoy the company and experiences of those around you as well as enjoy an incredible lunch and wine tasting. We also are thankful for our guide, Alice, who was informative and kept the day very well organized.
If i could do this tour...
Lauren_M, Aug 2022
If i could do this tour over and over again I would. The trip was well structured and a great way to see more of Florence. Would recommend this tour to all.
Wonderful day in smaller towns and Tuscany's scenic rolling hills!
Kathleen_g, Jul 2022
I was traveling w my sister and niece . We are in our late 60's, my niece is 21. It's particularly hot in Florence do we decided on an a/c equipped tour to see San Gimignano and sue a as well as countryside. The lunch in Chianti was great! The tour of SG and Siena very nice . Leave the diving and planning to the tour group! So much easier on a hot day. I would have skipped Pisa as too much road time for short time there, plus I've been before . We were too late to see Cathederal before bus departing. My opinion would be extend time in Siena and SG and skip Pisa. Great day out of the city, nice people on tour and the guide Manello was very informative and entertaining !
Magnifico!
Margaret_F, Jul 2022
My sister and I are in Florence for a month, but our mom was only visiting for a few days. We wanted her to be able to experience the beauty and uniqueness of Tuscany in one day and this tour was perfect. Each stop was spectacular (even in the summer heat) and the lunch offered plenty of food and wine. Mano was a wonderful guide--organized, knowledgeable, and kind. Near the end of the tour he took the time to answer anyone's questions about other attractions and offer recommendations. We got some great ideas from him for our visit to Lucca. We learned so much about Siena and the Palio, San Gimignano, and why the leaning tower of Pisa leans. Grazie Mille!
AMAZING!

Our guide Sara (no H) was wonderful! So nice and knowledgable about the area since she is a native. She was funny and full of information. She made sure we were all having a good time. It is a long day, but so worth it for the views and being able to see so much if you are not staying many days in Florence. Would HIGHLY recommend.
Best of Tuscany is totally worth it!
SEBASTIANO_S, Jul 2022
We did the Best of Tuscany full-day tour. It is a great experience for travelers visiting Italy for the 1st time. We got to see so much in one day. Our bus driver, Riccardo, our tour guide, Alex, and our local guide Annalisa, were exceptional. They provided great explanations and background information about each place we visited. There was just enough free time to appreciate each location. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Fattoria Poggio Alloro where we sampled 4 different wines, and enjoyed a lovely meal. The ingredients they use come from their farm. We would definitely book future excursions operated by Walkabout Tours in Florence.
First taste of Tuscany!
Sara_H, May 2022
All in all a great (but long!) day visiting a few different cities in Tuscany with Sara and Gaspare. We went from Florence to Sienna (short guided tour then some free time) --> vineyard for lunch --> San Gimignano (free time with cathedral tickets included) --> Pisa free time (cathedral tickets were free to collect there if you'd like to visit but we didn't opt for the Pisa tour) --> back in Florence around 8:30/9pm. The cities we visited were charming; it is certainly worth doing if you have a day to spare in Florence but don't have time to explore more of Tuscany. Very well-organised tour with excellent commentary from Sara during the bus rides between cities; the journeys were safe and smooth thanks to Gaspare. Given we had such a packed itinerary it didn't feel too rushed and had adequate time to get a taste of each place we visited. The bus was comfortable and well air-conditioned. Only minor con: the group was larger than I expected (filled a big coach) but it didn't really deduct from the experience.
Best Full Day Tour of Tuscany
Richard_R, May 2022
Outstanding tour that lived up to its description … The Best of Tuscany Tour! We booked it because it sounded like the best full day trip out of Florence to experience the beauty and magic of Tuscany. It did not disappoint. Outstanding overall guide, Sara, and bus driver , Gasper, were terrific - both were professional and experienced and fun! This Tour (booked through Viator and arranged by Walkabout Tours) was 5 stars from beginning to end. The tour highlights capture it all. Do not be intimidated by the 12 hour length. You need the time to see everything they have included. But the tour is divided into segments with time to rest between segments and enjoy the scenery. The wine tasting and outstanding lunch at an organic vineyard and farm (in a setting that is really beautiful) was a definite highlight!
Great trip
David_A, May 2022
All of our stops were very memorable....our tour guide Olivia and our driver were the best...there was plenty of time to see things....the trip was well done and I highly recommend it when in Florence...
Overall 5*
Feroze_A, May 2022
Brilliant tour. Our guide Sara was very pleasant and knowledgeable. She planned this tour very well and made sure that everyone is comfortable and enjoying. So many places to see on this tour in so little time but we were not rushed at any point. Sara even helped us with recommendations on Restaurants and Gelateria in Florence which were very nice. Overall great experience with a great guide.
You won’t regret it!

A great day seeing the wonderful Tuscan countryside and beautiful towns. The lunch at the vineyard was delicious as was the wine! Olivia our guide was brilliant and the coach was very comfortable. It’s a 12 hour day however as we were only in Florence for 4 nights we were pleased to see so much.
