What To Expect

Your hot air balloon tour begins just outside of Florence, in the village of San Casciano Val di Pesa, where your captain and crew meet you at the launch spot. After a brief safety overview, hop aboard the basket and rise up over the Tuscan hillside.

Peer down at a scenic landscape of cypress trees, fruit orchards, and vineyards. From 2,000 feet (609 meters), enjoy unique aerial views of nearby villages, castles and the iconic Tuscan hills that make this one of the most beautiful settings in the world.

Glide back down to the ground and toast your fellow travelers with a glass of sparkling wine.

Balloon Team Tuscany

You will receive the meeting point in the afternoon before your flight, or you can request a pick-up service, we will take you to the hotel, make sure you reserve it, this is not included. The Meeting poin is very close, about 20 minute from Florence, nea San Casciano in Val di Pesa, in the heart of the Chiati Valley. After being greeted by your captain and crews, you will receive a safety briefing before taking off. If you wish, you can help with aeration of the balloon before getting into the basket for your flight. The flight will last circ an hour, you will then be able to savor the excitement while you get up and stand gently up and over the Tuscan countryside. You will sail at a height varying from 500 feet to 3000 feet, depending on the wind of that day. All this will allow you to admire the breathtaking landscape of Tuscany. You'll see gentle hills dotted with pretty Italian villages, cypress trees, dominant castles and abundant vineyards, olive groves and orchards. You will see all that nature will want to show you. It will be a real adventure. Upon landing, we will toast this experience with a glass of sparkling wine! You will then be taken back to the launch site, or if you have reserved the pick-up service, you will enjoy a comfortable transfer to the hotel. You can reserve the transfer service even the day before if you have not yet decided.

Breathtakingly MAGICAL!!!

This tour was PERFECT, from start to finish. Communication for planning was excellent. The driver was prompt and on time, the pilot (Guido) and his team were warm, friendly, and inviting. You can tell they really love what they do; they are just so kind and wonderful. I took this tour with my kids, and they fell in love (and there were even tears of breathtaking appreciation for such scenic splendor). There was a light picnic spread at landing, with assorted Italian pastries and champagne and apple juice.The whole experience was a real-life DREAM! This fulfilled my bucket-list expectations and more! My heart still elates when remembering the feelings and emotions we felt during the experience!

After first rescheduling us because of weather conditions (understandable and not their fault), the company refused to refund almost $600 despite failing to disclose that the landing could be dangerous for my pregnant wife. Moreover, the communication during this entire x change from rescheduling to cancellation was abysmal. DO NOT BOOK with this company

Book and paid for our balloon flight with transport from our Florence Hotel. Operator contacted us the morning before asking the pick up address. Sent through the details with hotel name address as an attachment on email. A quick response from Guido asking for the address again, so I typed out in the email. That was at 10.57am the day before the tour and unfortunately the last we ever heard from the operator again. I sent further emails asking for the pick up time at 3.46pm and 7.00pm. Still nothing. We got up early at 4.30am to be ready by 5.00am hoping they had just had an error in sending us the details. Send another email at 6.09am and 7.14am. Nothing….. tried ringing Viator but to no avail. By now had complete sads and red some older reviews and appears this is not a once off. Requested refund through Viator who responded quickly and within a few hours confirmed a full refund. Viator is a great tool and we understand they are not responsible for operators who don’t give a rats backside spoiling people’s plans and holiday. Steer clear of this muppet.

What a once in a lifetime experience. The hosts made a great effort to keep the whole experience a surprise for my family to the point of asking the other passengers on the pick up not to let on what the excursion was about. From the pick up to arrival at the balloon site, the guides and ride to the sunrise which was breath taking to the landing which was as expected given the explanation at the start. The champagne and breakfast provided and the ride back. I could not fault it, my family were genuinely shocked and loved the experience. It’s worth every penny.

Absolutely amazing experience. We had a nightmare the night before as we did not book travel with the company and left it too late to organise our own. After having trouble booking taxis with local taxi companies in Florence we reached out to Guido, one of the employees at the Hot Air Balloon company, and our fantastic pilot, asking for help in finding a taxi company that would take us. Even though it was too late to book travel with the Hot Air ballon company Guido went out of his way to organise travel for us to the take off sight. The views from the Hot Air Balloon were beautiful and the flight was great fun and we were also greeted with champagne and breakfast when we landed. Overall outstanding customer service and staff were all lovely. Extremely grateful to Guido and the rest of the crew and we would recommend this experience to anyone.

The very early start at 05:30am was rewarded by the most magical balloon ride over Tuscany. As well as the beautiful countryside, we also saw wildlife from the balloon which was a bonus. The pilot was brilliant and the “hard” landing as he described we were about to experience came quickly, but safely. An Amazing pilot and the glass of Prosecco and pastries served at the end of the trip were much appreciated. Highly recommend taking this hot air ballon trip.
