Tour of the Uffizi through art and time!

We waited through three trips to Florence to visit the Uffizi, and this was worth the wait! Our tour guide, Fabrizio, was spectacular! One could spend five days in the Uffizi and still not see everything, but Fabrizio ensured we saw this museum's best and most essential parts. And he didn't just point and rattle off boring information about what we were seeing; he walked us through history and explained the changes in art and time and culture and how these things shifted and changed and impacted the art we were seeing. He made us feel like we understood the art in a way we would never have by simply reading the placards. We were introduced to the whys and hows of the art, not just the name of the piece and the artist. We understood the intention and purpose of what we were seeing. Fabrizio put on a show for us, and we were thoroughly entertained and educated. This tour was the perfect amount of time because of the job Fabrizio did to present the museum to us. After ten years, this museum with this tour guide was worth the wait!!

This tour was amazing especially because of our guide. She was extremely knowledgeable about all of the artwork and offered deep insights that we never would have considered if we had been on our own. She also was able to answer all of our questions. We covered the most notable art in chronological order which allowed us to see how styles changed over time. As we moved through the museum she pointed out other things that we might want to go back and see after out time with her was over. Money very well spent!

Angelo our guide was amazing. He was able to weave in history with myth and make the whole tour interesting. The Gallery is beautiful to be in and has such beautiful art! Make the most of the trip even after the tour is done. We also had a gorgeous view of the Jewelry bridge from inside the gallery!

Uffize highlights at a run

The tour guide was knowledgeable, funny, and engaging, but this tour is a "running past priceless art works, highlights ONLY" kind of tour. True, we were able to go back through the gallery, but if you want an in-depth Uffizi experience, this isn't it.

Good intro to Uffizi, but uneven experience depending on guide

Good guide to artwork and nice personnel. However, I booked the exact same tour with my husband last week and this week when my daughter arrived in Florence. Last week the guide spent two hours with us and this time the guide spent 1 1/2 hrs because she had to meet her next tour. It meant she skipped DaVinci, Michaelangelo and Raffaelo rooms. Same tour but a much more rushed and incomplete experience. In both tours you will do first floor on your own but after a the complete two hour tour we felt we had a great basis for the Uffizi experience.
Go on the tour! It is worth the expert!

Overwhelming beauty in the artwork. Guide was extremely knowledgeable. The only drawback was fighting the hoards of people trying to view the masterpieces. Some of the audible transmission was sketchy. Skip the line tour really did not not provide for a less crowded experience and I do not know the solution for that. The nice thing was that the people were very polite in letting me get a close-up photo. Because of the time constraints my group had to move along. Overall, I am glad to have experienced the beauty in the artwork.
