Excellent Food Tour with Local History As Well

This was a an excellent tour. Our guide, Guido, was friendly, relaxed and informative. The food stops were good and covered a range of dishes, the wine pairings were also very good. Would recommend.

Martina was great! She gets into the "real" deal, eating-like-a-local kind of thing. I enjoyed the information she shared about the locals, the way the food is prepared, and the history of the food, as well as the hidden spots she showed us. She was very lovely, kind, and friendly... and the food was GREAT and GENEROUSLY PORTIONED! Definitely worth the money; arrive hungry!

Staying outside of Florence in Chianti, we went to the city for this tour last minute. We had previously visited Florence a few years ago and by the time we took this tour we had already done several others in the area on this trip and were a bit "Florence-d out". This changed when we came in for this tour. We met Martina who arrived and was very upbeat, lovely and had that effortless Italian style. She was an excellent tour guide and has speaks English better than every other non-native speaking tour guide I have ever had. Martina was a very charismatic and engaging tour guide who took pride in her work. She did such a good job teaching us new things and showing us new areas that made it seem like it was our first day in Florence ever. Notwithstanding that fact we also tried a bunch of foods and left the day authentically stuffed afterwards. If I have one suggestion, it would be to skip breakfast (or any meals) before the tour, you will have plenty to indulge yourself with. If you have the opportunity to take this tour you should jump on it as quickly as possible. Martina was so great herself that several in our group are planning on taking more tours with her in the future next time we visit the area. When we summarized our trip, we all put this tour on the top of our list of about 10 different tours we took while in Italy.
