What To Expect

Following pickup at the cruise port or any Freeport hotel, board your comfortable vehicle and take the roughly 20-minute ride to Paradise Cove. As the coach heads west, pass through Eight Mile Rock, a native settlement with important social and cultural significance. Learn about local landmarks and Bahamian history from your guide as you travel.

Upon arrival, rent a locker or towel (own expense) at the Red Bar or order a tropical cocktail. Decide how you want to spend your day: relaxing on the beach or participating in one of many available activities. Kayak, stand-up paddleboard or jump into a game of beach volleyball. Slip on some snorkel gear and discover Deadman's Reef just offshore after listening to a short safety briefing and information on how to help preserve the reef. An instructor is on hand to teach any first-timers the basics of snorkeling.

If you selected the day pass option (not "snorkel only,") enjoy lunch at the Red Bar, which includes fish burgers, veggie burgers, hot dogs and chicken, plus a beverage of your choice.

When your day of fun on this secluded beach is over, board your vehicle and head back to your Freeport hotel for drop-off.

Every part of this excursion was great! The pick up from the was port was easy. Once we arrived at Paradise Cove the check in was easy and fast. The snorkeling was amazing. Pay the extra $10 for the guided snorkeling tour. Ryan was my guide for snorkeling and he was great!!! He was very patient as I was a novice in snorkeling. He made sure I saw turtles, tons of fish, and the reefs. The food was great too. The fish sandwich was awesome!!!!! The only issue was the sand flies :(

Me and my daughter did snorkeling it was her first time and she absolutely LOVED the experience! The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and so helpful! We got to see turtles and a multitude of fish & coral! We also tried conch for the 1st time. Highly recommend this excursion- we didn’t have the full day pass but it includes other water sport activities as well.

The snorkeling here is very good. We’ve been here twice and loved it both times. The water is very nice, not too crowded. Plenty of chairs in the sun plus shady areas too. Good food. We love it!

Not exactly paradise

I booked the snorkeling pass-cruise ship option. We were supposed to be picked up at 8 am according to the booking, but the driver did not arrive until 9:15 and then we had to wait for another couple to come before we could leave for Paradise Cove. The driver was nice and told some facts about the Bahamas along the way. The area is pretty depressed, many of the houses we passed were in disrepair. When we arrived, it seemed like we could have gotten a better deal by catching a taxi and paying for the snorkeling package there (I think it was around $35 and included a lounge chair and drink). It had rained earlier that morning and the waves were choppy, so it was difficult to see much when we went snorkeling. We saw one sea turtle. Because the seas were so rough, we didn’t go too far out. Be advised there are no lifeguards or anyone seeming to be paying attention if you get into trouble in the water. After snorkeling for a bit, my husband and I walked the strip of beach and we decided to take the 12:30 shuttle back to our ship instead of waiting for the 2:30 one.

We had a really good time here. The water is clear and beautiful. We saw several sea turtles. The ride there and back was good. Pick up at cruise port was super easy. Food was good. Only thing is I got tons of sand fly bites, no one else did, but if you’re prone to insect bites like I am, wear pants int it’s time to get in the water 10/10 definitely recommend

Mr. Parker picked us up right on time and exactly where it said he would be - pick up and drop off was seamless. We loved snorkeling, paddle boarding and kayaking. Lunch was fast and just enough to tide us over until we got back to the cruise ship. Staff gave great instructions to our beginner snorkeler - she even braved going around the back of the rock! We saw thousands of fish and coral and many sea turtles! Only complaint was the sand fleas? Or some kind of biting insect. Not sure how to avoid these except to just stay in the water!

I will go here again! Cruise passenger friendly. Only complaint was Mr. Parker was late picking us up. Definitely worth the wait though. If you have snorkeled before I highly recommend going to the pods then straight to the backside of the small islands/reefs. Staff was awesome and no crowds to deal with. Food was very good as well

Barry and the other guys working there are great! Showed us the reef map. He lives and breaths everything to do with his paradise cove! He makes sure to answer any questions you have. We came in on carnival legend, wish we had more time! We plan To stay in one of the villas on property one day! If you want a true island vibe and meet locals this is the place!! Relax and snorkle! The variety of sea life in the reefs was the best i have seen!

Great experience! We had a terrific time, from the pickup with a quick tour to the kayaking and snorkeling. This location is amazing and we loved that it was family-owned. We learned a lot and saw many sea turtles. AWESOME!

The staff were very helpful however they couldn’t really help a novice snorkeler. The chaises were in poor condition. It all was very run down.. the snorkeling gear appeared very good/clean. The sandwiches were regular . There wasn’t much beach to explore. The price was deceptive.. from 50$.. when a basic 2-3 hours was 100$.

Regardless of the bad weather we experienced, the place is amazing and the service is outstanding. We managed to snorkel for a little bit and regardless of the weather conditions we saw some turtles and manta rays. We will definitely come back during the summer.
