What To Expect

Climb aboard your comfortable, air-conditioned minivan in central Geneva and admire the scenery of the Swiss countryside as you travel towards Lausanne, a city considered the cultural center of Switzerland. Make a photo stop and learn how it became the headquarters of the International Olympic Committee.

Continue to Vevey and explore Chaplin’s World: a site dedicated to Charlie Chaplin. Learn about the influential 20th-century artist at the Hollywood-style studio.

Afterward, see the UNESCO-listed Lavaux, a region known for its scenic vineyards. Take a break here to taste local cheese, wine, or grape juice. Just before lunch (own expense), take a tour of Vevey, Nestlé headquarters, and the market.

In the afternoon, board an old steamer boat and travel across Lake Geneva. Arrive at Château de Chillon, a stunning lakeside castle and one of Switzerland’s most iconic attractions. Take a guided tour of the opulent residence and delve into the rich history of the area with your guide.

This was a wonderful day all around. Yolanda was the most thoughtful, well informed and friendly guide (a breath of fresh air compared to the awful guide, Neil, that we'd had the day before). She provided interesting insights about the region and was very engaging. We visited Chaplin's Museum (I hadn't been excited about that part but turned out to be really interesting), drove through the scenic vineyards, visited Vevey, a steamboat ride to Chillon Castle and ended at Montreux. A fun-filled day all around. It was also a small group which made it even more enjoyable.

Nice tour despite the rain

Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate and it was pouring. I enjoyed the World of Charlie Chaplan more than I expected. The cruise to Chillon Castle was very nice and exploring the castle on our own was interesting.

Stunning views and great sites, but not a guided tour.

This may not be for everyone...I have been to this region 5 times and on similar tours, so I know the area and history well. This particular tour had pros and cons... It was a very small group of 10-11 in a great panarama view bus. Guide was friendly and brought a nice wine and cheese picnic. There was a nice amount of time to spend at all locations and pace was laid back and relaxing. This was not a guided tour at all. The driver did not say one word about the history of locations or sites. We were totally on our own. Not really much time for lunch, but you can get yourself a bite at one of the stops near Vevey. Just know you will be getting a driver, not a tour guide.

The day began with a visit to Vevay vineyards , on to Chaplins world with next a ferry ride to Chillon Castle . All of these were done with ample time to view and see what you wanted at each stop. The ferry ride was 1st class on a nice , crisp sunny day which made it more enjoyable .
