What To Expect

Make your way to Chamonix Sud bus station at 7:30am. Step aboard your bus, then travel into the countryside on your way to the Swiss village of Gruyères.

Stop at the Cailler factory for a chocolate tour, where you’ll discover the history of chocolate and the different production methods. The highlight is an unlimited chocolate tasting at the end of the tour.

Travel higher into the mountains, and stop at the peak of Moléson to visit an artisan cheese maker in a traditional Swiss chalet. Try the legendary Gruyères along with the fondue cheese vacherin fribourgeois, which is loved for its subtle and nutty taste.

While away some free time in Gruyères, strolling the medieval streets and admiring the alpine views. Listen for the toll of cow bells as you explore; the village is surrounded by quintessential Swiss mountain pastures with grazing cows.

Meet back up with your guide for a ride on the Golden Express train, admiring views of Leman Lake as you go. Your day trip then ends with a final stop for a glass of wine on the Lavaux Vineyard Terraces, a UNESCO-listed site.
