The tour guide and driver were amazing …Aka and uncle Sandy! They were friendly. Aka shared good stories with us and the history at every stop. We felt like family. He was funny and sang a few songs, it was beautiful. I definetly recommend this tour to get to know the island and then you’ll know places to go later on your own.

Fun but need a better snorkel location

Tour guide was very knowledgeable regarding local customs and history. Food stop did not go smoothly and he had to assist the food location. Turtle Bay snorkeling was not a good snorkel location as the visibility was poor. It was a good beach stop and we went back the following day but again cold water and poor visibility. Driver Caleb had great personality and tried to keep the trip entertaining

The turtles were my favorite even though the water was a bit too murky to see much snorkeling, the turtles were surfacing to breathe and they were pretty close by me as I floated. I also really enjoyed the blowhole. Our guide, Jake, was wonderful.

Jerome was a great guide , very knowledgeable and fun. The turtle swimming was my favorite thou I only saw one Hugh one while swimming, I believe other closer to the beach saw a few more.. thank you for a fund adventure.

The tour host and the driver Aka and Mr. Caleb were by far one of our most memorable occasions. Aka is native Hawaiian and very knowledgeable. The tour was both fun snd adventurous. I would definitely recommend the tour and highly recommend Aka and Mr. Caleb.

Circle Island Tour Disappoints

From the reservation process to the end of the day, Circle Island Tour was a disappointment. While the itinerary was very promising, our actual experience was not. Our tour guide shared very little information regarding points of interest, local culture, etc. Disorganization and lack of time management resulted in less time for scheduled activities. For example, we were supposed to spend two hours shopping in the quaint town of North Shore, but we didn't get even one minute. Our highly-anticipated visit to the Dole Plantation scheduled for 1 hour was cut short to 20 minutes - not enough time for anything but the gift shop. Lunch was a disaster because we were told as we were getting off the bus that it was going to be "cash only today". What the heck? Most people don't carry cash so this delayed us quite a bit. The bus we were on had seen better days; the suspension was shot and it was literally a painful ride. I'm sure many tourists had a better time with better guides. It should be noted we were not alone in our dissatisfaction.

Bus was kept hot. Been nice to let air run a little here and there. Several people also thought it was hot but bus driver wouldn't budge. Outside of that it was okay. Lot of quick stops. Emilia was great and had a lot of general knowledge and funny dad jokes. Bus driver outside of the air was great.

Unhappy and was Never Picked! up!

We were NEVER picked up at the designated Drop-Off location due to poor communication. They changed out pick-up location 3 times and when the lady called us back, she told us TO WALK to another location because they couldn't pick us up where we were (designated p/u location). She stated someone will call us when we get there and NO ONE EVER CALLED or picked us up. SOOOO needless to say we are VERY UNHAPPY! WE WERE NEVER PICKED UP OR RECEIVED A CALL BACK !

Average and disappointing trip which didn’t fully follow the itinerary detailed.

Booking experience not easy compared to other local companies as you have to request a call back to confirm the reservation. However, the call back request form didn’t allow the input of international phone numbers, and so we had to ask the hotel to call on our behalf after trying numerous times to contact them. Jeremy the guide was brilliant and we learnt loads from him being local and he was such a nice guys! However, the trip itself was average and disappointing as it did not fully follow the itinerary we had read on Viator - we did not stop at Diamond Head Lookout, Eternity Beach, Sandy Beach Park, the only place we stopped on the North shore was Ali Beach Park when the description implied more stops, half of the items described at the macadamia nut farm didn’t happen, and the lunch was not an all you can eat buffet. So the itinerary on Viator was quite misleading and at points seems like a completely different trip. The Dole Plantation and Coffee Farm were also disappointing as we basically stops to sell tourist food/drink and gifts rather than having time to actually learn about the pineapple and coffee industries. A disappointing trip :o(

This was such a good experience. Important things to note… The driver was steady and skilled so, the ride was smooth and timely. Snacks, juice, and water were readily available. The stops were just right with most of them including some kind of local product to sample. People on our tour were kind, respectful, and fun. It was clear that everyone was having a good time. The best part of the tour besides meeting interesting people and seeing amazing sights and sampling delicious food, was our tour guide, Jeremy. He was sincere and gracious. He shared stories, legends, and tips with us. He was entertaining and informational. His genuine relationships with the local vendors and farmers made our tour stops super easy and enjoyable. The temple stop is worth the price of admission. Beautiful and quiet, we loved walking around the grounds watching the fish and birds surrounded by lush green. The turtles were fun to see and the beach was nice. Of note, there was a short walk from the bus to the beach. Also, there is not much for shade, and grass, and view, occurring all at the same time. I sat in the shade on a towel, but it was on a scraggly branch with pebbly sand. The grassy area had an obstructed view and, of course, the sand was very sunny. (All were great spots and I was pleased to have choices.) I saw several turtles from the shore. It was lovely to be out of the city seeing lots of other landscapes and sampling local fruit, coffee, nuts and the famous Dole Whip. Please go on this tour. It’s a great way to spend the day.

Aka was amazing and authentic in his knowledge and love for his people, the island of Hawaii, and the rest of the world. The best tour guide we have had in all of our travels. Didn’t stop in Northshore, disappointing tour.

The tour itself was okay, you saw quite a bit of the island which was good. There was a whole separate confirmation for the tour which was extremely confusing, especially being intentional and not within the same time zone. We didnt have to do a confirmation for any other tours we booked. The pick up locations as quite confusing, we were told 2-3 different spots and times from different people and then on the day the bus only arrived at 7:30am after being told strictly to arrive at 6:50am to not be late. We also didn’t make up the extra 30 minutes later in the day. Once we left late, we didn’t get to stop by Diamond Head as it was “too busy”, probably due to the fact we left late. Our guide rarely left the bus at stops which didn’t allow us to ask many questions or receive much information about where we were. He also joked so much and fabricated information that it was difficult to know what was true and what was a joke. I’ve left not sure if I’ve learnt anything. We didn’t get any time in Northshore which is what I was most looking forward to. It was just “included in the other stops” but online it says we get 2 hours specifically to explore the area. We also were told there would be nowhere to get food if we didn’t eat lunch at the designated stop, only to stop at food stands directly after. This left us feeling a little wiped after buying an expensive lunch we didn’t actually want.

What was most memorable for me was the fact that the tour guide Jack was very knowledgeable and fun. He truly kept everyone engaged. Every stop was a learning experience. I will definitely share and encourage others to take the tour.

This is the 2nd time I've written a review of this tour???? Robert and Jake did a great job. Fun, informative tour. Many stops, in a country so divided, refreshing to spend the day with positive, upbeat, happy for life people. I've referred to it as the peace, love and harmony tour!! We did see turtles!!!! I would recommend this tour. Lots of talking and jokes.

The North Shore Beach with the turtles was very cool but don’t have high expectations. We saw like 2-3 turtles but probably cause of the season, still pretty cool to see. Dole whip plantation was delicious & so was the coffee stop at the end of the tour. The views at some of the stops were also very breath taking and beautiful. Each short stop was very accurate on the time we could spend there. Best highlight of the trip was honestly our tour guide Kanoi. She was very engaging and had lots of knowledge of her Polynesian culture.
