What To Expect

Discover the awe-inspiring sights of the ‘Garden Island’ of Kauai with this action-packed, full-day shore excursion. Your friendly local guide will pick you up in an air-conditioned coach after you disembark at Nawiliwili Harbor. Learn about the geologic history of the island as you drive toward the rocky red landscape of Waimea.

Enjoy a leisurely cruise down the scenic Wailua River as you soak up the lush tropical scenery and admire passing views of Opaekaa and Wailua Falls. At the end of your cruise, take a guided tour of the picturesque tropical gardens and cave at the Fern Grotto before being transported back to your ship.

Beautiful scenery!

Our tour made a stop to biew the river and nearby waterfall in the way to the river cruise. Took River cruise to fern grotto and Viewed the beautiful fern grotto while being serenaded by Hawaiian women. Memorable and lovely. On the way back we learned a hula dance and we’re entertained by local Hawaiian women.

I did not have a great experience because I wasn't allowed to take a trip that I booked back in August. At the time of my reservation I did not see that it was affiliated with a cruise ship. I wasn't on the cruise which eliminated me from going on the tour even though I paid for it back in August. We were willing to take the tour, but tour company would not lets us take the tour. Viator and Roberts Hawaii kept telling me to contact the other vendor. Neither Viator or Roberts Hawaii had any interest in refunding $154.00. They cancelled on us. We didn't cancel, we just wanted to get on the tour. I lost my husband in May 2022. My friend took me to Kauai in November for relaxation as I'm learning to live without my husband, and simply a nice getaway as winter sets in Washington.

The tour was great. However reserving the tour was awful. I reserved a 8:30 trip which they cancelled the night before and put me on a 2:30 trip. Luckily I was able to do the later time.

This is now 2 separate tours if you book as shore excursion from the pride of America due to their change of itinerary. Travelled with a local tour operator for both, cannot recommend this company enough, both tours had fantastic, enthusiastic, knowledgable drivers. Check in with them at the port was quick, clean air conditioned buses. Enjoyed both trips immensely and learnt lots about the island. I would definitely book with them again.

The tours were excellent! We had very friendly and informative guides which made the experience both fun and educational. Both the canyon and the fern grotto were beautiful. The canyon, of course was spectacular. Having the Hawaiian wedding song and entertainment on the river cruise was fun. The fact that we went back to the ship to eat was fine. It gave us a change to rest for a few minutes and regroup for the second half. All in all a very good double tour.

Awe inspirering Grand canyon of the Pacific, well worth the bus ride. Commontary was very good as well. The river cruise and fern gardens are also a worthwhile part of the trip. too bad it rained while we were in the fern gardens, but when your in the land that has 600 inches of rain a year what else can you expect.
