Overview

Explore the dramatic cliffs and crystalline waters of Kauai’s Na Pali Coast on a half-day snorkeling adventure. Cruise along the spectacular coastline aboard a motorized raft, stopping to splash into the clear waters and snorkel among native marine life at one of Kauai’s best coral reefs. Traveling by raft allows the flexibility to navigate the rugged sea caves and waterfalls that dot the spectacular Na Pali shoreline. A deli lunch and beverages are included on this small-group tour. Rafting excursions can be physically demanding, bouncy, bumpy & lot's of fun. Participants should be in above average physical shape. You need to be able to climb a sturdy vertical ladder to get back on the raft after snorkeling. This tour is very adventurous, Wet, Wild & Wow! Be prepared for an exhilarating day!

    We are located in the Port Allen Marina Center, on the Island of Kauai. Head West on HWY 50. Turn left at McDonald's (JCT 541 Waialo Rd.) Look for Kauai Sea Tours on your right. Continue to the end of the complex, turn right and we are the 3rd lot on your left! Proceed to the office to check-in.

What To Expect

Kauai’s Na Pali Coast is a dramatic, 16-mile (26-km) stretch of jagged cliffs and emerald valleys along the island’s northwestern shore. The best way to view the spectacular scenery is from the water. Begin your adventure at Port Allen Marina Center, where you meet your friendly captain and crew. After a safety briefing and storage of your personal items in a dry bag, hop aboard a 14-person inflatable, motorized raft.

Your nimble vessel allows the group to get close to the shore and dart in and out of sea caves and under waterfalls (weather permitting). As you cruise along the coast, your crew shares information and legends about the landscape and help you spot passing marine life such as dolphins, whales, and sea turtles. Don a provided snorkeling mask and fins, then splash into the clear waters at Nu‘alolo Kai to explore one of the best coral reefs in Kauai.

Take a break partway through the tour for an onboard picnic of a gourmet sandwich, fresh tropical fruit, chips, and cookies. Beverages are provided throughout the journey so you stay hydrated.

Your coastal adventure concludes back at Port Allen.

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

  • For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
  • This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

The views of the Na Pali coastline were Amazing!! The crew were super friendly and knowledgeable. Being able to enter the caves was an awesome experience and one that can only be achieved on the raft boat.

Great adventure in a relatively small group

The size of the group (14) and of the embarkation were big decision points. The capitaine was great at providing relevant information as we cruise along the shore and the second was good at entertainment. We could also get in some caves where other larger boats could not. One thing to keep in mind is that this is not for anyone. Being a raft, the seating is not as comfortable as some other boats as you are sitting on the sides and have to hold on to cords. Also, wanting to get the most of the experience, we sat in the front. Well, we did get the experience of a lifetime but it was also exhausting to hold on to the cords as we hit the surf. Not sure we would do it a second time in the front of the boat ;)

Loved the history and learning about the Na Pali Coast. We got to see lots of dolphins which was so fun! Lunch was great and the snorkeling was a bonus. We saw a big sea turtle. Great captain and first mate. Stellar experience overall.

Fun guides, beautiful views! We had very nice weather so the water treated us well. Zodiac ride is a very fun adventure riding through the swells. Saw some cool fish on the reef while snorkeling and an octopus!

This excursion was great! The team and captain were prompt and on time start to finish. Be aware this ride is bumpy!! It’s a bit long to get out to the coast (1 hour but worth it!). Our captain Jen was wonderful- she shared a lot about the hawaiin culture as we navigated to the coast. Jen continued to check in on all passengers, see how they were doing, if they needed to stop, and was ultra aware of the diverse group. She offered choices of song selections which was fun on the ride home! The team navigated us through the coast and even in some caves which was awesome! Thank you!!

We loved the raft. Jennifer our guide was so knowledgeable and helpful. We did the morning ride which was best to avoid winds and high tides. We saw dolphins and were able to swim. I would recommend putting sunscreen on to avoid sunburn from long exposure. All in all it was amazing!

It was an exciting ride with music and speed of the raft. The water and views were amazing but wish we could have more time playing in the water snorkling or swimming. It was a long and very bumpy ride so be prepare.

Great crew, but water was too rough due to the wind and the ride to and from the Napali coast was brutal. Both directions. Snorkeling was not good due to the windy conditions. Check wind before going.

Had a lot of fun! Beautiful views of the Napali coast! It is a raft so definitely a bumpy ride with waves and getting wet but you are able to get so close to all the waterfalls and into the sea caves which is super cool. Would have preferred maybe halfway through the trip to be able to switch spots since we had to sit at the rear of the raft the whole trip. Just to have a chance at some better views and pictures. But overall loved it, it does take 5-6 hours but the raft is nice because you get to go into the sea caves and under some waterfalls.

The half day trip was amazing, we saw dolphins and we even swam with turtles. Sky and Chance were very nice which made the experience even more pleasant because we could more about the island. My friends and I really enjoyed our trip and would 100% recommend this one because the boat trip was so nice and since it is small we went into caves and other smaller spots! The activity was worth every penny!!

The captain gave us a lot of wrong informations. He mentioned that in the island of Kauai be careful of bears and mountains lions. Which I know doesn’t exist. Our snorkeling area wasn’t great. We boarded two guest who isn’t supposed to be in our tour and have to drop them off in another location which wasted our time. Over all I think this tour could better because I had done this tour before with a different company. I wouldn’t recommend t KAUAI SEA TOURS COMPANY.

Well Melvin, we're sorry to hear you were not satisfied. In regards to the bears and mountain lion comment, our people were trying to be witty. Yes, the two people who boarded our vessel accidentally, were embarrassed and felt dreadful for their mistake.

It was a good boat tour for the price, however, one should know what they are getting into as the inflatable zodiac tour is not for everyone if you get motion sickness (if you decide to do it, be sure to get some medication beforehand). Many people got motion sickness in the boat. The tour itself was alright, but do the morning tour if you want to see sealife (which we did not know beforehand). The catering firm of company messed with our entire family's vegetarian order; in the end, most of us did not get any food except chips and cookies. Finally, we got conflicting information regarding when the food would be served (as a lunch, or dinner, or something in between). In the end, we had to each a very quick lunch before the tour as we were told the food was for dinner. As they messed up with our order, this worked to our advantage somewhat, and the food was served more like a late lunch, not a dinner. The trip is amazing. The coastline is magnificent, but in the zodiac boat, you do not get a 5-minute break to relax; you have to hold tight and be careful the whole time.
