The private tour was expensive, but worth every penny! Best experience of all and we visited 3 islands and did many excursions. Our pilot George was friendly and knowledgeable. You absolutely can not see the island by car. We so so many amazing waterfalls, caves and volcanic crater!! Best money spent!!!

This was an amazing way to see the beautiful island from the air. Many said that you have to do the helicopter ride, but I didn't feel like I missed anything from doing the private plane tour. Our pilot was great, friendly, and very informative. Highly recommend!

Friendly pilot, but plane prevents you from getting too close to the sights

The pilot was friendly and took us safely around the island of Kauai. However, he seemed disinterested, and it was very obvious that he had done this tour many times. Prior to takeoff, we were not given proper instructions on how to wear the headset, and communication between myself, my partner, and the pilot was very choppy during the flight. The volume was not calibrated properly, and every time someone spoke, whether it was on our flight or someone else over radio, the sound was blaring in my ears; was very uncomfortable. Landscape generally was very lush and beautiful, Kauai being the wettest of the four islands and harboring the wettest spot on Earth. We saw several waterfalls, but they were, however, tiny and not very impressive. Also bird's eye the view of the Na Pali Coast from above is not nearly as impressive as what you'd see from the water (we did another boat tour the next day where we saw the coastline up close from the ocean). In the end, we asked for a picture in front of the plane, but despite giving the pilot a generous tip, the photo he took was shoddy at best (without even capturing the entire plane, despite us explicitly asking for that). Overall, we felt it was a mediocre, overpriced experience. Save your money for a helicopter tour, where you can get closer to the waterfalls, or for a boat tour, where you can get closer to the Na Pali Coast.
